10/10 definitely recommend! Great atmosphere and delicious fresh food. The owner is hilarious and makes you feel like family. Fresh, delicious, and the perfect stop by the coast. Can't wait to go back

"Chicken of the Day" Hidden gem of south bay. Chicken was so juicy and hummus was very tasty and flavorful. The owner of the restaurant was friendly and tried to get to know us. Throughout the dining, I could see that he cares about every single customer and remembers a lot of them by their names. He takes pride in his food which is well deserved. The inside of the restaurant is cute with a nice bar sitting.

Great, authentic and very reasonably priced Mediterranean cuisine. Restaurant is not fancy (clean but not fancy) but very good.

I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon, where a few other patrons were already dining. The seating has around 6 or so tables inside that can fit around 4 each, and they also have high chairs for children! I ordered a number 17, which is the gyro, and got a side of hummus and pita then found a table to sit at. I had just finished buckling my child into the high chair when my order was delivered to my table! They are super fast here! The super friendly waiter delivered my meal, and I dug in. The gyro was stuffed with meat! This is a huge deal, since a lot of places skimp and don't give enough. So extra points to Al Hamra for a job well done. The flavor of the meat was juicy and well seasoned, super delish! The hummus and pita was good, although I usually add a bit of spices to my hummus so this one was a little plainer than I'm used to. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Get the knafeh! The warm cheese and syrup were so delicious and made for the perfect ending to a good meal! I will definitely be back, the food was super tasty, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the happiness, Al Hamra!

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.

I order falafel and it comes with a delicious side salad. All the vegetables on the salad and in the wrap are really fresh and crispy. There is free parking in the back. My next mission is to go in and try something new. Hopefully I will see you there!

Brian knows EVERYTHING about liquor, Caitlin and Tyler are epic bartenders (and Germano), and Lorenzo the manager is killing it! and the vibe is PERFECT (the best combo of lighting, music, bar staff, cocktails, food, atmosphere). I've been there every single weekend for the past 2 months. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Once I went next door to Ryla and was SO disappointed at their staff (made me feel like a burden), the food was SO mid, and it's not conducive to meeting people. It doesn't even look like a restaurant, just a building. We both arrived late, due to the parking situation, but she called and let the restaurant know we were going to be late. We both walked in a little after 10AM on Saturday. The gentleman asked us where we wanted to sit. He walked us to the main dining area, and I chose the first booth on the right. Perfect table. We ordered cocktails first. I ordered the Surfside. Pretty, delicious, and refreshing! The sliver of cucumber and yellow flower strategically placed. We ordered the spicy hummus and rosemary focaccia to start. Our waiter, Samson, also brought us an appetizer. Both were absolutely scrumptious. All the bread is homemade in the restaurant. The focaccia bread was soft and moist. Perfectly paired with the hummus. The appetizer was a light, flaky crust around cheese. My girlfriend had to order another one to go. For brunch, I ordered the Atta Girl Breakfast, which includes eggs, potatoes, 2 pieces of fried cheese, a pita, and small side of yogurt, sliced cucumber, grape tomatoes, and dill. So good. It's a modern take on Mediterranean food. Afterwards, we ordered the donut (holes) for dessert, which was also delicious. Fresh. Samson added a lighted candle in it for the birthday girl. Service was exceptional. He is well versed in the cocktail list and menu. Great recommendations. Parking: Good luck! That was why both of us were late to our reservation. We both had to drive around multiple times before we found parking. There are many metered parking spaces down the street and small parking lots on the side streets, but the weekends get busy in Hermosa Beach.

The gyro was not classically shaved meat but more like cut burger patties but that wasn't exactly bad. There was plenty of food to take home for another meal or two.
