I got the Kebbeh as an app and it was the star of the show filled with flavorful beef. The Chipolte chicken wrap was tasty but I would make sure to add lettuce and tomato next time. It was basically just flavorful meat, banana peppers I ordered through DoorDash and they prepared my order pretty quickly. read more

I unfortunately do not have anything good to say about my experience trying Mr. Shawarma. The fries were so bland, soggy, and had no seasoning. The pita bread was flat, dry, and bland. The beef on the shawarma fries was so fatty it was hard to eat through and the chicken on the other half was bland and had barely any flavor. The hummus was the "best"? thing I guess you could say it was the least disappointing but still was not good. My husband and I ultimately could not eat the food from here. It was really horrible and I don't get how this place is rated so highly. We were excited to try Mr Shawarma and now we feel as though we wasted our money. We will never come back. The food was not appetizing at all and was really gross. If you are debating on coming here, I would advise against it. Seriously the worst food I have had in San Diego or in a really long time. read more

We were looking for a dinner spot that was open late and came across Mr Shawarma on Yelp. This place did not disappoint. The guy manning the kitchen recommended the double trouble shawarma which has the beef & lamb and chicken. He did not lead us astray. It was super delicious! The meat was super juicy! The wrap was an explosion of flavors! My tummy was happy. They have an outdoor patio out front where you can people watch while you enjoy your food which is a fun experience of in PB. Ohh this place is fantastic. Good for the wallet and good meal for the heart. Everything is presented with intention and worth the time. Yes, parking can be difficult and a little annoying but that is the downside to a beach town.. always busy. They take walk ins and are open on a regular schedule with friendly staff and a clear menu. Love love love the food here! I used to go to their spot when it used to be by the gas station a long time ago. Having their own spot on Garnet is pretty sweet! It looks like a great place for dine in with ample seating or takeout. I ordered the Lemon Cilantro Beef Shawarma and ordering online was easy! The worker was nice and decent wait times! We were visiting from LA and were excited to try this place. This was our first stop for our road trip to SD. We ordered: 1) Side of falafel 2) Shawarma salad (half chicken half beef) 3) Shawarma plate (half chicken half beef) 4) Babaganoush - The quantity for the price was excellent; they were very generous with their portions. - The pita bread was huge! However, as soon as it cooled it became hard and stiff - The chicken shawarma was pretty good - The beef shawarma was soooo salty and over seasoned. It was so salty, we actually could not finish it and we did not take it to go. It also had a lot of fat. - The babaganoush was decent, generous portion but slightly under seasoned - Falafals were excellent!! Very flavorful, nice and crispy texture -- absolutely recommend Overall, our experience was a solid 3.0/5. If the beef had not been so over seasoned, it would have made our overall experience much better. read more

I had quite an odd experience from this place. We ordered delivery from Mr. Shawarma around 7pm waiting until 8:30pm only to receive a completely wrong order. Then ended up driving there anyway and food was less than satisfying, greasy and lacked any flavor. Regrettably, I doubt I will come back read more

To start, service was great. The two employees up front were very nice and got the food out quickly. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, which makes you feel safe. In regards to the shawarma, it was just alright for me. The meat was decently tender but lacked flavor. It was definitely missing some herb flavor and was under-seasoned. My food also felt under-salted. I can say the same about the fries; the seasoned fries contained little to no seasoning. They tasted like plain steak fries, and only a few had any of the red powdered seasoning. The tahini sauce was creamy and garlicky, which was very good. The pickles were also a nice addition to the plate. Overall, the portion size was decent, but the flavor was lacking on my visit. read more

Fake pricing on menu. They added a $1.06 to each item more than advertised on their electronic menu. It is not tax, added afterward, or the credit card fee, also added afterward, but the base item price items that they don't honor from their menu. Very shady, they just shrugged. Waste of time. I was really disappointed with the lack of taste and seasoning of the Lamb Shank, which was the main dish of the meal. In fact, The Lamb Shank was very dry, as if it was not stewed in a savory au jus, as is customary with this traditional dish. I suspected this, because there was no au jus on the lamb to speak of, combined with the fact that it was not wet in the least bit upon serving. Even if au jus is not spooned over the lamb and rice, just by virtue of pulling the Lamb Shank out of the stew this should result in a wet piece of lamb dripping au jus over the rice. However, in this case it appeared as though they may have baked the lamb on a baking sheet or stored it separate from the stew. On a positive note, the house vinaigrette was very tasty, and the homemade hummus was creamy. The Baba Ganoush did not have too much of a burnt taste, so it was also prepared well. Even the rice was full of spices and flavor, which was a nice addition. However, the Lamb Shank was the main dish, so my rating reflects the fact that this dish missed the mark. If I try this place again, next time I will order their namesake shawarma in order to see if Mr. Shawarma is worthy of a higher rating. read more

Gem of a shawarma place in Pacific Beach. We liked it so much that we came back the next day - this is authentic delicious Mediterranean cuisine at its best. We had the chicken shawarma, lamb and beef shawarma and hummus, and all of it was fantastic. Portions are enormous and at very reasonable prices. REALLY GOOD SHAWARMAS! ======================== My husband and I were staying in South Mission Beach for a long anniversary weekend, so I spent some time bookmarking restaurants ahead of time. Mr. Shawarma was way up on top of the list for places to try for lunch. If you look at the listing it says they have bike parking, but I didn't see anything. The sidewalk is pretty narrow with no room for bikes, but the staff let us put our e-bikes on the patio. They were close to our table near the rear of the restaurant which was great so we could keep an eye on them. We did get there at 11:00 a.m. when we thought they were open, but they didn't open until 11:30 a.m.. They did let us sit on the patio in the shade until they opened which was very nice. We were pretty tired and hungry after riding to La Jolla from South Mission Beach earlier. One of the things they had on the the menu was a beef shawarma with a lime and cilantro flour tortilla wrap, but I wanted chicken so they made that for me. That lime cilantro flavor didn't really come through for me, but it was a pretty presentation. I like how they cut them in small pieces. The garlic sauce was good and fluffy. The spicy sauce was really good too. My husband got the traditional beef shawarma with regular tortilla and he liked that a lot. read more

I was there about 1245 on a Monday and there were a few people there and they had some takeout orders so my order took about 10 minutes before I could walk out the door with it. They had a nice condiment bar where you could pick out some yogurt with dill sauce and then they're famous garlic yogurt sauce, as well as a jalapeño sauce And another spicy hot one that I would never try. When I got back to the jury room to eat my meal, I saw that there was a nice quantity of the fresh salad and the grilled vegetables but the meat was piled high! The employees were working efficiently and the place was spotless and orderly.

I was able to sign off at 330p and head over to this location. The place was empty and there were clean tables and floors when I walked in. I was greeted by the lady behind the counter, and she had a smile on her face. I ordered the beef & chicken shawarma plate, Wagyu Beef eggrolls, and a bottled drink. My food was freshly prepared. I received my order in 7-10 minutes. It smelled wonderful. I paid for extra yogurt sauce and left to take my food to-go. When I arrived home, I enjoyed a delicious meal. Everything was prepared with great flavor, portions, and care. I had the garlic sauce and the yogurt sauce with my meal. This place is one of my favorites. I have been eating their food since the Southpark Truck days, phenomenally delicious. Thanks!
