I was worried that I had to rent a U-Haul pickup truck to tow their equipment. No Worries!! After making a reservation online, you show up on time. Time is important, it was quite a drive and I was 30 minutes late to my reservation. It was all good, I made it on time to enjoy the jet skis! Upon arrival, a person will brief you everything. Once completed, you follow the person towing your rental to the launch gate. Parking is $20, cash only! From there, you will enjoy your rental! Despite my experience, I did ran through a problem during my rental. I followed their rules and yet I got a warning light. Called the phone number they have given me, luckily I was with a buddy. They sent guys out to tow the jet ski, thank you! After we got back, no problems or damages were found on both jet skis. Small issue was oil overfill during the time the jet ski went through maintenance. It was understandable but I was given $25 for my next rental and refund back. We've taken it with care and hope someday to return to have fun!! S/O to the staff, thank you once again :)

The four stages are spread out all over the park with the first one literally underneath a freeway overpass. The other three are tucked away deeper into the park. The bar and food setup here are stellar. Finally a festival where the bars lines are almost existent and the food offered is more than just frozen pizza and hot dogs. My only complaint would be the entry and exit situation. It's two lane road that is part of the bridge over the river. So, it can take a while to leave since this is the only one main location to get out. It was so crowded, that we had to walk pretty far down the road just to catch our uber. When there are events being put on it seems the park is kept very clean and ready for people, not sure about the other days of the year. The last time I came here was for the Sol Blume festival in 2023. The event was held in August instead of the original date in April I believe due to the park flooding. So that's something to keep in mind, the park does flood when we are experiencing heavy rainfall! I'll have to spend more time at the park throughout the year to get a better sense of the area.

Our guides were Erin and Lauren. We had an absolute blast; it was the most fun I've had in years. My sister-in-law was visiting from the UK and she said it was the highlight of her trip. Yes, the rapids are fast and wild and yes, there's a possibility you might fall out of the boat. If you're not a big adrenaline junkie or you're older and this worries you, don't let that keep you from doing this. I'm also not a big adrenaline junkie. Three of us on the raft were over 50. We all had a fantastic time. I never felt like I was in danger and I was never scared. The guides are great at showing you what to do, easing your fears, keeping you safe, and making sure you have a good time. Highly recommended experience, especially if you have a visitor and you want them to experience the best of Northern CA recreation!

We were gifted a beautiful day on the river with multiple sightings of wildlife including fish jumping, ducklings, geese, and even a bald eagle! The best part was getting to see the kids do something, get scared, have a blast doing it, and then ask to come back for more intensity next time. I really appreciated the guides for their hospitality, humor, and kindness. However my main piece of feedback would be a friendly reminder that nature and outdoor recreational activities are a form of escape and respite from our every day life, so being more mindful of the topics of conversation brought up during the ride is very important to the atmosphere.

But do to covid not sure when open or what it offers. Was gonna go to he front door but it had a few peacocks around and Dilantin to bother them. They will walk Farley close to you if you let them. They also have a few native gardens around and some seating. They did have a sign up to help take care of the gardens. If you follow the trail it will land you on a small beach like setting around the American River. Around the office they have a big yard and its well kept up too. Park ranger were around and employees keeping up the place. Over all pretty good spot for a quick trip to let the kids run around or a spot to fish. Ans you can see some local WILD LIFE. There was a spot to leave a requested donation for $5 parking/visiting, not sure if someone took it or of it was removed. But not fully required too.

As I drove in, there were two park ranger cars leaving, I didn't see any homeless camps and there aren't any garbage in, out, or around the entire area. And as you drive further into the camp site, you do see wild peacocks along side the road. I didn't get out to venture on but it seems like a good easy hiking place. They do have picnic tables right out front. It's nature so of course there's a lot of trees and bushes and I think there might be pathway for a nice walk. I'm just not sure if it's a good place for younger kids to hike because if they go off the path, there could be prickly grass etc that could be unsafe. I wanted to leave an updated review for those that are considering a visit. From the pictures on yelp to what I saw, the park has changed drastically and also patrolled by park rangers more. If I do get to chaperone, I'll update this review more with photos.

I went with a group of 10, last July, and it ended up being such a chaotic (in the best way) and bonding experience. We still talk about it to this day. They also offer a group discount, which is worth looking into and made it feel like a really good value for everything included. All of us were first-timers, so we were definitely a little nervous going in, but the staff made it feel really welcoming right away. They gave a quick crash course/overview on how to navigate the water and what to expect, which helped ease a lot of the nerves. I'd say it's very beginner-friendly, just keep in mind it is a Class 2-3 course, so there are still some rocky and more exciting sections. The rafting is self-guided, so there's no guide on your raft, but there is a sweeper raft at the end making sure everyone gets through safely. There was also one section where the rapids got pretty wild, and staff were there helping anyone who got stuck, which I appreciated. Overall, everything felt organized and ran smoothly. We did the 2-day experience, and I'd recommend it if you're comfortable with camping. The overnight stay is outdoors, so just something to keep in mind if you're not used to that. The campsite had a really social vibe with a happy hour, group activities, and just people hanging out, which made it even more fun. The food was honestly better than I expected. We had steak and baked potatoes for dinner, and a breakfast burrito station in the morning. During the rafting, there were also a lot of scenic spots along the way where you could rest and take everything in. I remember passing by what used to be a volcanic site, which was really cool to see. Each raft comes with a waterproof bag for your belongings and lunch, but I'd recommend bringing extra snacks, water or electrolytes, sunscreen, and good water shoes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for friend groups, especially if it's your first time rafting. It's a great mix of fun, a little bit of challenge, and just a really unique experience. My friends and I are already planning to go again this year.

He had lots of knowledge about the California gold rush and it was nice to learn about it as an adult who didn't grow up in CA (I'm sure my 12yo loved learning about it too). While we camped at Earthtrek, it was super helpful that our trip included breakfast, 2 lunches (one lunch mid-rafting trip), and dinner. All meals were delicious and it was nice that there were gluten free options. The OARS site is spacious, with clean facilities, and a small shop for items. Now on to the rafting experience! For some background, my husband was the only one who had ever done it so my kiddo and I were newbies. Along with another kiddo and adult, we rafted through class 1-3 rapids and I never felt that we were not safe (despite me being the weakest swimmer in the family). Alec was truly a guide in every sense of the word. He prepped us before taking on the rapids - gave us the route we would take, what to expect in terms of how we were to paddle and what we had to do. We played some fun boat games and spent some time floating in the river which my husband and son loved. Also included were the always fun brain teaser riddles that had all of us entertained during the floating portions of our trip. After completing the class 3 rapids and all staying in the raft, we felt on top of the world and wanted to do more! If you have ever thought about trying white water rafting, do it - you won't regret it! It's truly an experience and a great time in nature with the family. OARS is a professional and inclusive company, with great guides!
