Decent size meatballs! Includes fries for 5.50!

Ok, I have been meaning to write a review of this place for the longest time. So for starters you should know me and my coworkers have a strong love for lunch buffets...specifically on Friday's when we know there's not a lot to get done in the afternoon and we can get away with nursing a food coma. After we tried literally every Chinese buffet in a ten mile radius we moved on to pizza buffets..turns out our first and last stop was Marko's! The lunch buffet alone will run you somewhere between $7-$8 a person, this includes broasted chicken, salad bar, and really solid pizza. In addition to the pizza/chicken buffet you can also add a basket of shrimp and fries or fried cod and french fries for $1.99....which is also all you can eat!!! Literally a ton of food and they are really good about keeping up the pizza and chicken during lunch when it gets busy. We're usually a group of 7-8 so I call 30 minutes before we leave and give them a heads up. The lady working there..maybe owner/manager..very nice and always has a couple tables put together for us. So..great experience with the lunch buffet, but I've also gotten takeout from here and it was also a great value. Was randomly craving a meatball sandwich a couple nights ago so started looking up Italian restaurants in the area and of course Marko's came up in suggestions. Meatball sandwich on a huge half a french loaf with fries turned out to be just what I was looking for! AND still only priced at $5.50!!! Only complaint I would have is the meatball sub was like SO salty. I think I guzzled my 32 oz water bottle in a few sips after eating that. No worries though I usually like saltier food, but I know most people don't so..just saying

First time here, on the recommendation of my niece…read more The hardest part was figuring out that we had actually arrived at the right place. Google Maps brought us to what looked like a farm driveway with corn growing on both sides. There aren't many signs, just an old wagon decorated with Christmas lights. It's almost as if they want to keep the place hidden from the traffic on Pleasant View Drive. Food: The menu focuses primarily on wood-fired pizza, with additional offerings including appetizers, sandwiches, and sausages. They also have a large selection of beers, including several brewed on-site. We ordered the Milwaukee Pizza (cheese, sausage, mushrooms, and onions), and I also got the Washington County Smashburger. To drink, I had a margarita, and she ordered the Big Buck Bock. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was amazingly good. The pizza was hot, well seasoned, and generously topped. There was so much mozzarella that the other toppings were practically swimming in it. The smashburger was also excellent. The patty was cooked through with beautifully crispy edges. The pickles were crisp with just the right amount of kick. The crinkle fries were plentiful and well cooked, although they were just a touch too salty for my taste. Service: We received great service from the moment we walked in. You can either order from your table or at the counter. Since it was our first visit, we chose the counter. A staff member greeted us right away and explained how everything worked. Even though it was near closing time, they encouraged us to place our order and then relax, letting us know they would still be around for another hour after closing. Our food was brought out promptly, several people checked on us throughout the meal, and they even proactively brought us takeout containers. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful, making for a very relaxing dining experience. Atmosphere: The restaurant is set on an old farmstead. They've done a wonderful job converting several of the buildings and outdoor spaces into a welcoming destination. There are multiple outdoor seating areas, along with a newer food hall that feels open, bright, and thoughtfully designed. It's also a very family-friendly place, with outdoor areas where kids can play while everyone else relaxes. Even the restrooms were modern, spacious, and exceptionally clean. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll be bringing more of the family with us.

Upon driving in there is a building for the restaurant along with nice outdoor seating, and area for kids to play! We went in mid May on a sunny but cool evening. The kids loved having the sand area and toys to play with while waiting for dinner to arrive. They have a good menu, but there seemed to be a decent amount of items unavailable especially the sausages my friends wanted to try. We ended up with the spring pizza, sassy pig, a plain cheese, and then a three combo of sausages. I thought the pizza was all good, not the best I've ever had but solid. The spring pizza was my favorite. The sassy pig was very unique but good! Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the sausages but others in my group liked them. We upgraded that to include fries and there was only a very small amount. We will definitely be back, seems like a great spot for groups!

I'll admit, I'm not always a huge fan of takeout. It can be a bit hit or miss. They assured me we'd love it, and they were right. Food: The order was placed over the phone and included two medium pizzas. One was topped with cheese, sausage, mushrooms, onions, black olives, and green peppers. The other was a Supreme with all of those toppings plus sausage. We arrived at the restaurant at the scheduled pickup time and were told the pizzas were just coming out of the oven. About five minutes later, we watched them being boxed up. By the time we got them back to the house, about 15 minutes later, they were still hot. Both pizzas were excellent. The crust was thin and nicely crisp without being soggy. The sauce was flavorful with just a touch of sweetness. There was plenty of mozzarella cheese and generous toppings, and the pizzas looked like they had been prepared with care. They were every bit as good as our neighbors promised. Service: The staff was friendly while we waited and kept us updated on how much longer it would be. They also suggested that next time we try their garlic bread, describing it as similar to Mama Mia's, with thick bread soaked in butter. They even gave us a couple of paper menus to take home. Atmosphere: There were several other people waiting for carryout orders when we arrived. They also have a dining room, although it wasn't being used while we were there. The seating is simple, with sturdy picnic table-style tables, but it looked clean and comfortable. Based on our first experience, this is definitely a place we'd be happy to order from again, and we'd also be interested in coming back to dine in.

I got the Manhattan off their specialty menu and my husband got their autumn barrel Manhattan. After trying both--highly recommend the one off their specialty menu. It was definitely superior quality. It's served over a block of ice so if you want it up, you may want to mention that when ordering. It tasted more like a classic old fashioned than a Manhattan but I'm not complaining because I love classic bourbon old fashioned cocktails as well. For a starter we got their much raved about bang bang shrimp. It came on a bed of greens and was good! For my dinner I got their seasonal chicken and dumpling soup and a side salad. Both were solid. The salad was definitely more ample than I was expecting. My husband got some sort of salmon alfredo pasta dish that came with roasted asparagus mixed in. I had a bite and he ordered well--it was decadently buttery and delicious. The service was super kind throughout our stay. Our server checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. Get to it!

This was at lunchtime when it wasn't very busy at all. I started to think they had actually forgotten about the order. There was also a pesky fly that just wouldn't go away. When the food came, it was pretty good. The thin crust pizza was very tasty and loaded with toppings. And the Greek salad, which came well after the pizza, was great. Fresh lettuce, Kalamata olives, tomato, feta and abundant Greek dressing on the side. We ordered the $4.95 protein-shrimp on top. Asked for them grilled and they came out beautifully. Correctly grilled and tasty. Large jumbo shrimp, a whopping 9 of them on top of a small salad. I'm guessing they may have been frozen, which is why it took so long to make the food. And perhaps they gave us extra since we waited so long. But the add on process is the same for either a small or large salad, so that could play a role. Overall, the food was tasty but the wait for it (despite ordering almost immediately upon being seated) was very long. Don't risk it if you're in a rush to get back to work! Will give it another try when we have much time to spare.

I ordered a cheese burger with an extra patty and sour cream & chive fries, my wife got a cheeseburger with tater tots, my oldest kid got a cheeseburger with regular fries, and my youngest got a grilled cheese with regular fries. We also got cheese sticks and six wings with Jamaican jerk sauce. The cheese sticks weren't huge, but we got eight in the order. The cheese was on the sharp side, so clearly not mozzarella. They were fine, but not my favorite. I vastly prefer rub to sauce on wings, but I'm a sucker for Jamaican jerk flavor so I wanted to try them anyway. There was plenty of heat and some Jamaican jerk flavor, but like the cheese sticks, they weren't my favorite. I wouldn't get this flavor again if I get the wings again at all. The kids grilled cheese looks like it was a good size. He ate it without complaints. The tater tots, sour cream & chive fries, and regular fries were all good. The regular fries seemed like they might have been lightly battered and were my preference of the three. We all thought the burgers were great. The patties seemed like they were hand formed and not out of a frozen box, which is very appreciated. I thought the seasoning tasted like McCormick Montreal steak seasoning, which is fine in small amounts, but can overpower a burger real quick if overseasoned. The Monday deal is $4 for a quarter pound burger and you can add a side for $4 more. Make sure you specify that when you order and don't just say "a cheeseburger with fries" because they will charge you the regular menu price for a larger burger with fries. My wife and oldest son didn't think to specify the $4 burger and the server didn't clarify which size they wanted, so we didn't discover the mix up until we got the bill and it was $10 more than expected. They were able to adjust it for us, so it all worked out in the end. I look forward to coming again on Mondays for the $4 burger deal and checking out their other menu items and specials, especially the Friday fish fry.

In addition to a mint flavor burst ice cream cone I ordered a cheeseburger and wonton mozzarella sticks. The wonton mozzarella sticks are an incredible value given how many you get for the price. Crispy on the outside and had good cheese pull. The cheeseburger, which had a nice flaky bun, had excellent flavor and is one of the better burgers I've had in the area. It made me sad that I hadn't visited Jim's Place before. I wanted the blue goo flavor of flavor burst, but they were out of it that day, so I went for mint instead. It wasn't super strong like I had hoped, but you could taste the mint. I would probably get a different flavor next time (hopefully they have blue goo available at that point). I would move the tables out at a little further for people who want a lot of space.
