I have been taking my vehicles to Marks Auto the last 3 years and each time he has completed the job with extreme precision and accuracy. My vehicles never need to be taken back for additional follow ups nor do they require additional work that drains the budget. Mark is always straight forward and works within my budget. He doesn't cut corners and he gets the job done right the first time, every time. He is a person you can trust and a person of integrity. He repairs my vehicles as if they were his own and that is a level of service you do not see anywhere else. As for Heather in the front office, I can not say enough about her level of professionalism and customer service. She is always very knowledgeable and personable and it is a pleasure to speak with. She is very thorough and I know she does her absolute best to transfer my vehicles needs to Mark. It is clear that she knows her job and does it well. We had no idea where to go for a reliable, HONEST mechanic. I posted a posting on a local community page in Chino Hills and the response was almost unanimous for Marks Auto. There were a lot of people who gave a high recommendation. We were in the process of purchasing our kiddo their first car. We needed several cars inspected. Mark came out personally, drove all the vehicles and personally and carefully inspected each one. Mark had a very fun and friendly demeanor, and not one of desperation or dishonesty. We ended up purchasing the vehicle he recommended and brought it back for a tune up and repair of a few minor item. His staff Heather as well was extremely friendly and personable. My 2003 Dodge Durango was displaying the Engine Light which in turn would not pass its Smog Inspection. Being a widow and not knowing too much of auto maintenance, I hit a "Panic Mode" as basically I didn't want to be taken advantage of an enormous bill, unnecessary repairs or not having it repaired correctly. I did a lot of research on who I can take my SUV to...Mark's Auto was top of the list. I was greeted warmly by their receptionist "Heather" who I explained my dilemma, she wrote notes and asked questions. She was very supportive and made an appointment for me the next morning. The Durango was given an "overall" inspection and there was some MAJOR issues that needed to be repaired. Well after everything was fixed my bill was not only compatible with my budget, but they had given me a discount on Parts and Labor. The Durango passed its Smog Inspection and it runs just like it did when I first bought it. I was referred to Mark's by a friend of mine that is mechanic himself. The car in question is having recurring fault codes in the ECM for the oxygen sensor. Both Marks (yes, there are two) spent a lot of time diagnosing the car and narrowed it down to either the wiring harness or the computer itself. I'm not sure what's going to happen with the car yet, but I'm impressed with their level of knowledge and trustworthiness. They know what they're doing and aren't afraid to take a look at a car they don't normally see. Best of all, they won't BS you and try to sell you something you don't need. Marks Auto will do you right. I plan on going back to them in the future and referring people to their business. They are great guys. read more

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST PLACE YOU CAN EVER BE TO GET YOUR CAR FIXED. My family and I were in California for a family trip from Washington, which was a LONG DRIVE. My car seemed to handle the long ride until we got to our camping site near Marks Auto, then the next morning the engine was not starting. We tried to jump start the car, but it happened to be that we had a different problem. So we took it to Marks Auto after reading other reviews. Everyone who works there was really nice, and they made sure to inform us what happened to our car and what they needed to do to fix it. My experience with this place was a very pleasant one. Not only are they honest and trustworthy, I had taken my Scion to 2 other places who could not diagnose my problem and Mark fixed it for $50. 3rd time is a charm. 4.5 stars. So far so good. I have had a temperature gauge replaced here, and the first one they gave me was defective, but they gave me no problems about replacing for free because it fell within the warranty time. I have had a new battery installed here. I will be taking my car here on Monday to have the timing belt checked and changed ( if needed). Always give me a reasonable price, get work done fairly quickly, and have good customer service. I have even texted during off hours and gotten a quick reply. Bottom line is I trust these guys, and that means everything to me. The .5 deduction is only because I just wish they were open on the weekends!!! It is hard to get in to the shop during the week with my job, so that is a bit of a headache. I have and will continue to recommend this shop to friends and family. read more

I don't even know where to start. My Mini Cooper was having issues and I was stranded at work in Chino and had no one to come and help me. I called Mark's auto and spoke with Heather and she was so kind and understanding even as I was crying and couldn't get a sentence out. I brought my mini in and he looked at it right away, turns out it had an issue with the transmission. Mark explained everything in a way I understood, and even offered to call my dad and explain what was going on. He didn't charge me to look at my car and moved it to the street so I could have it towed. He even offered to drive me back to work. THIS IS A WORTHY REVIEW, ONE THAT DESCRIBES INTEGRITY AND HONESTY OK, I have been using Marks Auto repair a long time, back when he was Marks Mobile repair showing up to my house to change my brakes, change my oil and all other problem I had with my 7 cars...lol However, today sums up why I am unconditionally committed to sending my problems and routine check ups to Marks.. Saturday 9/14/13. My wife goes to wash our car at a Cancer fundraiser in Chino at the PEP BOYS parking lot. When they where finished the car just wouldn't start. all power was good, battery was charged up. Not a click..I had the Pep boys mechanic look at it and they determined it was definitely the STARTER. I confirmed are you sure. Reply " YES!".. I requested a quote, and received a replacement starter and labor would be $380. I called Mark and he said, " well, if you need it asap do what you need to do, or I can have it towed to my shop and take care of you on Monday morning.. Today is Monday morning, I decided to tow it to Marks, and just received a call from Mark asking " what exactly happened that morning you car broke down", I said it was running perfect. He then told me it is running perfect now... Apparently, while the were cleaning the inside of the car, they moved the PRO LOCK under the steering wheel that is a theft device. Mark just pushed it in and ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM... This definitely would have been a $400 plus repair at Pep Boys, instead it is going to cost me a very deserving lunch to Marks Auto Repair. In other words, I still have my GO TO Mechanic and have total trust and faith I will be taken care of honestly and economically... I will continue to recommend friends and family to Marks shop. This was my first time using Mark's Auto. I found both of the Marks to be very personable and knowledgeable about cars. They were able to fix the problem i was having with my Toyota Camry in no time. They also charged me at a greatly reduced rate than what I was quoted by the Goodyear car shop down the street. My only complaint would be that when I entered their front office there was no-one there to greet me. The front door opening makes a loud chirp that I assume is usually heard by one of the Mark's out back, but perhaps they did not hear it that time. I had to walk around to the back and search for someone, which caused me to almost give up and leave the shop. In any case they are a small shop, but they do great work. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to build a relationship with a local auto-mechanic that they can trust with their car on a personable basis. read more

I have been coming to Marks for years. Simply put, they are honest and trustworthy which is extremely rare to find in the auto industy. what made me a loyal customer was a veh I had to replace the transmission on. Several quotes for $3500 and above. Mark not only did it for $2200 but also did some preventive repairs without even asking for an extra dime. On another time, I took in my veh for an overall maintainance inspection to try to keep my vehicles running as long as possible. I know he spent his time looking everything over and when I picked up the veh, he recommended a few minor repairs but did not want to charge me any $$ for the time he spent looking at the veh.
