Bad experience. They don't seem to have the right tools to do the job. I went somewhere else. The guy there with the missing leg seemed like he didn't know what he was talking about since he acted like it was difficult to remove parts on my car. It was a weird experience. This guy seems like he has a lot of health problems, he spoke really bad on the phone like he was gasping for air and he mumbled like he didn't understand auto repair. The Care Shop lives up to its name. Mark, Rose and their team of mechanics are the best and refreshingly honest. I was referred to The Care Shop by friends years ago and I referred them to everyone. If I was selfish I would stay quiet to keep them a secret but I have to share this recent story, please bare with me. Last week my 86 year old mother drove to the bank in her 2002 PT CRUISER and when leaving her car wouldn't start. She called AAA. They came out and told her the battery was fine and the problem might be the starter so AAA towed her to a Diamond Bar mechanic. This shop changed her starter (for a price 2 to 3 times the going rate). This shop then told her her car has a major oil leak proplem and should not drive the car but if she does, add a few quarts before she goes anywhere. This shop said they could fix the problem for $1600. My mom called me and I told her to drive the car home and I will bring the car to THE CARE SHOP. Rose and Mark squeezed us in to examine her car. Mark reported her car had a few minor oil drips that are normal and to be expected. My mom was happy and relieved to hear the good news. Mark and The Care Shop saved me over $5,200 to fix my 2018 Hyundai Sonata! I paid $0! Long story short, in June of 2023, I purchased my vehicle from Cerritos Hyundai as a certified pre-owned. I was looking for a used car for so long and once I found the model I liked I saved as much as I could to purchase it. At the time, I didn't have the extra money for the extended warranty so I didn't pay for one thinking i was okay since it was a certified vehicle. During the purchase process I had such a bad experience with the salesperson I told myself never to comeback to Cerritos. Move forward to June 2024, my autonomous breaking system light and the ABS light went on and my car had about 58,000 miles. I took my vehicle to Cardinale Hyundai in Corona and they said since I didn't have an extended warranty I had to pay out of pocket because there was nothing they could do for me. I paid their fee to have the vehicle checked and give me an accurate diagnosis. Their diagnosis was that I had a faulty AEB breaking sensor and to replace it I had to pay just a bit over $5,200. They said there was nothing else they could do for me aside from trying to re-calibrate the sensor in hopes that would work. I didn't have $5,200 bucks at the time so I asked for the calibration. That didn't work. I left and started looking for a second opinion. I found The Care Shop. I made an appointment and spoke with Mark. He checked the error codes and told me the ABS motor appeared to be the problem. He told me they could re-set the sensors, diagnose the ABS motor and individually test it to see if that would reset the problem. And because I had low mileage on my vehicle he was hoping he could find a solution for me. I took my vehicle home and drove it for about two months without any problems until the lights came back on. I took it back to The Care Shop and left it there. Mike told me I needed to replace the ABS motor. He said he called Ontario Hyundai and spoke with Chris the maintenance advisor. Mike said he explained everything to Chris and believed based on the miles and the fact that it was a certified purchase that they could do something for me so I could save money. If not, Mike was going to fix my car for less than 1/3 of what I was quoted. I took my car to Ontario Hyundai. Ontario Hyundai reached out to Hyundai who agreed to cover all the costs and replace the ABS at zero cost to me. Wow! I am so thankful for Mike. He didn't have to go out of his way to reach out to Ontario Hyundai. That showed he really cares for his customers. I am so grateful and wish Mike and The Care Shop success. I've used them in the past for several jobs, with great success. On my last visit, I hesitated to bother them with my difficulty in releasing and exchanging the wipers on my 2002 Avalanche when I couldn't get my old wipers to release. Even though it was his lunchtime, Mark came over to my truck and replaced them himself, and would only accept enough money to cover a lunch. Great company, great owner! read more

My husband had gone to several mechanics regarding his corvette. Paid a lot of money for a clutch job and it still wasn't going into gear. Called the care shop and the gentleman who answered gave him a suggestion and said if that didn't work to bring it in. My husband went out to his car, did what the mechanic suggested, and it worked. Stopped by The Care Shop because my left front turn signal stopped working and the back was flashing fast. I walked in and spoke to Mark (I assume the owner) and asked if that was something they could look at today. I called CARE and Mark quoted me right away and was able to schedule the service the for the same day. Mark's quote was less than anywhere else I had called. The part had to come from the dealer and my car was still fixed within five hours on the same day I called. My car needed a driver's door local actuator and the dealer had quoted nearly $400. The final cost was actually slightly less than the quote I received over the phone. The staff at CARE were all very kind and respectful. The facility is clean and tidy. Thank you Mark & staff for saving my sanity by fixing my door! I'll definitely be a repeat customer. PS. I had used another local shop for a couple regular maintenance jobs. Should be called 'don't care shop' poor and unprofessional customer service. Marks wife responded to me unprofessional when I made the call that my axle was leaking transmission oil due to the recent repair. They make it very difficult so they don't do their job . called on Thursday. Regarding this matter they scheduled me the next following week Tuesday. I was without a vehicle for almost a week. I didn't want to drive with my vehicle leaking transmission oil. Mark had mentioned to me that he never replaced it with a new seal. That's why it's leaking. When an axle is replace a new seal is replaced. Shows lack of integrity for the customers. I ended up taking my vehicle to another mechanic because he wanted to charge me. It clearly says on the paperwork that the seal and transmission oil was included. when it should've been covered under warranty. I would rather pay someone else to have the job done, right read more

I have been taking a wide variety of cars, trucks , and SUVs to The Care Shop for I'm guessing 12+ years, since it was in a previous incarnation as Capplette Auto. Mark and Rose took over, and I am very, very hesitant to let anyone else near my car repair needs. I currently have two very late model cars still under service warranty, but as soon as the warranties expire, I will be back regularly at the CARE Shop. In all these years, Mark and his team have worked on an '05 Toyota Matrix, a '67 Pontiac GTO, a '70 Mustang Mach I, an '04 Mercedes C-class, a '17 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, and a '15 Mercedes GLK. I can trust them with anything from a classic American muscle car to the latest from Germany. Yes, they do work on German cars and have saved us a King's Ransom from using the German car "specialists." First off, they are very convenient and very flexible. With my odd work schedules, I can drop off my car and leave it overnight if need be. They have long weekday hours which definitely help the consumer. A local shuttle is available to get you back on your way. Generally, the shop is not one where you can drop off your car and expect to pick it up in two hours. The job is done thoroughly with a lot of attention to detail. If you want the job done right the first time and every time, you don't want anyone rushing through the repair or service. They are closed weekends, which I am very happy with. They work hard and deserve some time away. I love supporting local and family owned business. Mark is incredible when it comes to communication and offering varying solutions to your car's issues. Very often he will give several choices, depending on your budget and the needs of your auto. He will often give you options of good, better, and best fixes. I don't think I have ever received the hard up-sell on any of my repairs. He is honest and fair. Sure, you can put that blower on your '88 Cavalier, and the shop will do it for you, but not before Mark goes over your options and hopefully talks some sense into you. If there is a complicated fix or if a part has to be special ordered, he will give you regular and accurate updates as to when the parts are scheduled to arrive and when you can reasonably expect the service to be finished. My Matrix was my daily driver and took a lot of cosmetic abuse from the 75 mile daily commute, but Mark, Juan, and now Marshall kept my little beater's heart and soul alive for well beyond 180 K miles, until someone decided to rear end me at 60 MPH. I never had a single issue with this car, and I owe much of it to the fact that it was a Toyota and had regular service from the CARE Shop. I also had a '67 GTO that had motor modifications well beyond recognition. It was fast and sounded great, but I found it in the shop far too often. Mark and I had a long discussion, and we came to the decision to de-tune the Goat back to factory specs. This was a long process, but it was done right. When I was finally able to pick my car up it started immediately, was a little less thirsty with fuel, and was noticeably more reliable than before the service. After Mark was done, I really enjoyed this classic for several more years. Lastly, living above the Chino Hills State Park, we live in an area with lots of pests and critters. Well during this last cold snap Nov/Dec 2018, we had some unwanted visitors that took shelter and wreaked absolute havoc in the Jeep and the GLK. Mark was awesome in thoroughly repairing both cars. Yes, it was an expensive lesson, but Mark was fair and well under the Jeep dealer's estimate. Thank you, Mark and Rose and team for all your hard work! A lady who worked there wasn't wearing a mask and was walking around the office. Masks seemed VERY optional. Just something to be aware of if you're "at risk". read more

I found my mechanic! Mark is a very nice guy who took the time to listen to my concerns and gave me a fair quote on all the work I wanted done on my Audi. The shop is a good size and seems to be busy, but they were able to take my vehicle in and finish it within a day. The-Care-Shop is a solid 4/5 and not a 5/5 only because I've yet to find the place that is "perfect"in all regards. I say this being a car, truck, and motorcycle (they don't do bikes) owner for over 40 years, doing my own work when I can and always doing my homework before taking my vehicles in. I'm usually better than 75% correct in my analysis before I have Mark look at it. This saves both him time and me satisfaction knowing we are on the same page. When I'm wrong, Mark let's me know, and I learn something. The office is run by his always amicable wife Rose and now their son Marshall helps in the garage along side a team of highly experienced mechanics, most notably Juan who has a crush on my Yorkie. ;). The waiting room is quaint, but it's clean and has water and coffee should you want to wait. Typically, it's best to explain the problem and it's symptoms, and come back when it's done. It's a busy shop. In the 20 years of going to the CareShop, there's been a couple of times where the problem took a couple of tries to solve it, or were not solved to my satisfaction, but that's very rare. Keep in mind that auto mechanic care is as much an art as it is a science, so not every issue has been seen before. What matters is that this is a family owned and run business with ethical and precision standards. You might pay more in some cases than other shops, but it won't be due to greed or incompetence, it will be because Mark and his team will not cut corners and do sloppy work at the expense of safety and even customer request. The work is done right or not at all, including OEM parts when available, or properly remanufactured when not (like a HUD for my 09 GMC or ABS controller for my 90 Vette). I've gone to many shops over the years, and like a good doctor, once you've found one you can connect with and trust your life with, keep him. Some folks will complain when they don't get gold when they are willing to pay only for silver, or want to cut corners like other shops, or try to haggle over price; if so, this isn't the place for you. This is a solid team and honest shop run by good uncompromising people. read more

When it's 5:30am and your temp gauge starts going up followed by smoke coming out from under your hood, you know it's gonna be a challenging day. Fortunately, I was able to pull over and leave the car in a safe place. In the late afternoon, I got over to The Care Shop which was very close to where I left the car. Mark pulled it into the shop right away and quickly found the problem. It was getting pretty late and he wanted to be thorough so I left it the car overnight. This place has definitely gained me as a customer. They were friendly and honest. I usually go to the dealership for oil changes but this time I was pressed for time and was overdue for a service. The owners, I believe, were very nice and welcoming. I had a 3pm appointment on a Friday. They were on time and finished in about an hour. I've been working in Chino for about 7 years for an IT company, which has a few fleet cars for our onsite appointments. We usually take our cars to Jiffy Lube or Big O Tires nearby for regular maintenance. After several bad experiences it was time to find a new shop. Just 1 block away was The Care Shop. I called them up and was greeted nicely. I arrived to a very clean facility, with a nice waiting area. Mark helped me out and let me know cost before hand. I came in for an oil change and had them check my brakes. Car was brought in at around Noon, and was finished by 4PM. Given time for lunch, this was a quick turn around time for quality service. My invoice was neatly printed, nothing hand written. My car runs smoother and my brakes feel a lot firmer. Communication is key for any business, and The Care Shop does not disappoint. I was notified of cost, and when the car was ready by Mark himself. Not once did I have to call to see what was going on with the car. Highly recommended shop.
