We spent an hour after lunch checking out the various stores on the town green hoping to find something to send to her daughters. When we entered Hush - the woman working (I'm later told it's the owner's daughter) was not friendly, and did not make my friend or I feel welcomed or comfortable. It was totally unwarranted. The silly hat she was considering buying was left behind as the girl working there made us feel like "we weren't classy enough" to be in the store... please you sell weekend hooker hats lol On the flip side, the lady working the children's boutique lovely woman and I'm in need of baby gifts for my neighbor but now on the fence of supporting a family business where someone clearly doesn't understand customer service.

It was also a couple doors down from this delicious chocolate shop where they had an incredibly interesting gentleman! At this particular location, I noticed they had different clothes than the Petaluma location as well as different colors and patterns so I was rather interested in this location versus the downtown Petaluma Boutique. Both places were priced about the same as any other boutique so nothing too crazy but shirts were about $30 and sweaters were about $45. They did have a number of different styles of jackets at this particular location also. I will definitely come back again!!

I went to wait in line to purchase the items and was hoping to find a different size in a pair of shoes I liked. The person ringing me up, Hugo, looked up the shoes and said they had my size available. He called for someone to go find them and said to wait at the register. He had already rang me up for the sweaters but hadn't charged me yet. I waited for about 5 minutes and then offered to pay for the sweaters so he could continue helping other customers (it was very busy and the line was long). I paid for my items and waited off to the side. I waited another 5 minutes or so and Hugo came over to let me know they couldn't find the size I was looking for even though it showed it was available in their system. I was bummed, but I understood and appreciated them taking the time to look. I told him I'd still be interested in purchasing the size I originally found. He told me I would need to wait in line again to make my purchase. I was very caught off guard. At that point I wasn't going to wait in the long line I had already waited in and waited off to the side thinking I was doing Hugo and the other customers a favor. Super disappointing and time wasted.

We were aware that the employees keep a larger dog behind the counter, but no guidance or warnings were given about keeping small dogs away from that area. While our little white chihuahua was sniffing near the counter area, the larger dog pounced and caused bleeding on our dog's ear, likely from contact with its claw. When we informed the employees, there was no apology, and only afterward did they mention that they are unsure how their dog reacts around small dogs and that they sometimes keep her away. We asked for a napkin to help with the bleeding and were not assisted, though they did provide the code for the nearest restroom so we could clean her ear ourselves. With clearer communication upfront about their dog and guidance for customers with small pets, this situation may have been avoided.
