So I went to Barlow's tavern just to check out the happy hour. Model's tavern is in done within a busy business area where there's a lot of other things and you may have a hard time finding it like I did LOL. Finally exactly where the park and where the interest is because there's so much over there. The parking's free so don't have to worry about that. But you can actually park and walk around to a number of other places in the area. I ended up parking coming in and sitting right at the bar. Ended up getting a couple of things of food and then headed home. The bartender was pretty cool. The bar was full of what it seemed like regulars though. So I know this is more of like a neighborhood bar for them. So that's good that you have your spot that you go to at is consistent so that let me know. It was a good sign. The french fries good and came out pretty crispy but they were french fries LOL. The wings were pretty good and very big and meaty so I enjoyed those. The seafood nachos, not what I thought they were going to be. They were basically like four large nachos with the seafood and cheese on them. Not what you expect whatsoever, probably would not go for these again. I came for the happy hour and it wasn't as much as I thought it was going to be but they were a couple things there. So if you wanted a snack this would be a good snack spot for happy hour, but not a actual food spot. I didn't have a bad experience so if you're in the area you should check it out. 1st time here at Marlow's. Everything was delicious. We dined in on a Friday night. We were seated fast. Our waiter Logan, greeted us and begin to take our order. We then asked him for some food suggestions.... He gave us quite a few. I am 22 years old and this is the first time at Marlow's and I brought my friend Madi with me and the whole experience was so pleasant. The drinks were good, and they were so accommodating and thoughtful. My server Patrick was so pleasant and introduced us to the manager Madi who brought out a complementary dish because her name was madi also spelled the same! It was so nice for me and my friend to catch up and be invited and welcomed into this Dunwoody, Marlow's, madi and our server blank, made our experience so much more welcoming and made us feel invited and warm. You can find this location of Marlow's Tavern at 1317 Dunwoody Village Pkwy, Ste 102, Dunwoody, GA 30338 - this is on one of those twisy parts of the road within Dunwoody Village. It's a bit weird to get to the parking - you drive past the restaurant and come at it from the back side. At least the parking is still free - getting tired to factoring in parking for everything in town. I've eaten at various locations of Marlow's Tavern but this was my first time at the Dunwoody Village location. Went there with a group of about 5 people - it as between lunch and dinner so we were seated promptly - in all the service was very good with many visits from the server. For drink, I went with an old standby, Creature Comforts Tropicalia (actually had two pints). For food I ordered the Crispy Grouper Sandwich with a side-salad and came away very satisfied - large breaded pieces of fish stack on a sesame seeded bun. Came back to Dunwoody to see family and decided to try this place out at the old Chuck's Steakhouse that is now split into two places to eat. The other, a steakhouse, was not open that night (Monday). It was a great evening to sit out on the back deck to end happy hour (Weekdays 4-6). No one was there when we got there, but it started to fill in as we got our food. Inside is a little dark and still has that steakhouse feel, but outside was lively with the fans and heaters to enjoy the hotter/colder times. Our server was nice and took care of us. We started off with happy hour drinks and I got the Old Fashioned that was a little on the sweeter side, but a good start with the Shrimp & Crab "Nachos". This was more like a small pizza crust with the shrimp & crab that came out in four pieces, so we all got to try one. Light-weight and a easy appetizer. When we come here, we know we'll be happy with whatever we select from the menu and the beer will be ice cold. Don't misunderstand, predictability is a good thing. Had dinner here last night with my daughter and my parents. Ordered our drinks and the server dropped an entire sangria all over my 75 year old mom. Every person around us was staring. Her white shirt and light jeans were stained red and she had to sit there all wet the entire meal. It was a mistake, and my mom showed extreme grace. Laughed it off. Server was apologetic and nice. Food was fine. But bill came and we were hopeful to see some gesture...maybe a free app, comp the sangria, something. Nothing. This is more of a review for management. Haven't been to Marlow's Tavern (any location) in some time. We live in close to the one in Dunwoody and decided to grab something close and decided to give this place another go. Started with the deviled eggs, and while they tasted quite good, mine still had a little bit of shell on it. Bit of a turnoff when you have to take eggshells out of your mouth. Party ordered 2 burgers and the fish tacos. The burgers were ordered medium well, but had a little too much char on them. The fish tacos were bland. Don't really know what else to say. Good service but the noisy Patrons made our evening less enjoyable. I had hoped that they were seating every other booth so that the noise would be baffled somewhat. But they were seating every booth! We went outside on the porch to eat to be more Covid safety conscious. But that was also very noisy! First time dining at Marlow's Tavern back in February. We came here to use my friend's birthday coupon that you receive from joining Marlow's Tavern's rewards club. The deal is a dinner for two! Marlow's is a family friendly restaurant with a pretty vast menu. Food: * Shrimp and Crab Nachos Plate ($10.5): Sauteed Shrimp, Crab, Pepper Jack Cheese and Fresh Jalapeño. Good and crispy but salty. There was at least one piece of shrimp and jalapeños on each slice. * Firecracker Shrimp ($11): Tempura Friend Shrimp, Red Bell Peppers, Pepperoncini, Sweet Chili and Cracklin' Spicy Sauce. We requested the sauces to be on the side just in case. The shrimps were a good size and crispy. We were glad the sauce was on the side though. Not only can we dip as much or as little we want, the shrimp stayed crispy without the sauce. * Tavern Burger ($9): Burger was juicy and you get fries with your entree too. We got the fries and salad. Fries were the skinny kind (my favorite) and the salad looked fresh. We asked for the pickles to be left out but it ended up on our plate anyway. Surprisingly, the pickle wasn't really pickled (sour) at all. Service: Okay. Slow at times but not bad. Parking: Plentiful. Overall, Marlow's Tavern is like your Longhorns and Hudson Grilles. Let me start off by saying I love the food at Marlows. I had the salmon/couscous dish delivered to my home tonight. The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. And the 1/2 c (barely...I measured) of couscous was delicious as well...but that is all there was. For $28?? I felt a little robbed on the side dish. We got seated but then the server took an uncomfortably long time to greet us, we placed our drink order but only one glass of wine came out, we asked again about our other drinks which finally came to the table, at that point we knew it was not going to be a good experience.It's frustrating to spend that kind of money on a meal and get poor service. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not super busy but the food and service were awesome. I had a blackberry mojito cocktail with fresh berries that was super tasty and the hummus app was amazing- they make the hummus in house and serve it with the most perfectly seasoned pita bread, I was a huge fan of this appetizer. For our mains I had the crab cake that came with an arugula salad and it was a really nicely balanced dish. My partner had the Royale with cheese and said it was one of the best burgers he'd had in his life! The fries were overly salty so watch out for that. I had lunch with friends on October 7th at Marlow's in Dunwoody village. I am writing this review because my food caused a health problem. I cannot eat gluten. I have not eaten anything with gluten for over 12 years. The server happily provided me with a gluten free menu. She also explained that I could have any option with bread and the chef could change out the bread. So, I order the pulled pork sandwich as one of my friends did. The sandwich came with fried onion rings, but they were breaded. So, the server offered plain onions that were sautéed. The server offered a salad instead of fries which I happily accepted. The roll was not a gluten free product. I wasn't sure when it was served but after of years eating and baking gluten free rolls and bread, I didn't think this was a gluten free product but the server when serving the lunch said it was completely gluten free. I ate 90% of the sandwich. There were more very greasy onions on the roll then pulled pork. The pulled pork was dry and hard but there was very little of it. The salad was so soggy I could not get it on my fork. Couldn't eat much of that either. I knew if the roll was not gluten free, I would be sick within hours and I was. I had a headache for two days and felt like I had a stomach virus. When eating out make sure you can trust the establishment in providing whatever health accommodation that you need which is not Marlow's in Dunwoody Village. We stop in here often for dinner. Service is always wonderful as is the food. They have a nice outside patio that we have enjoyed no matter the weather.
