    Salmon Piccata

Hey sista, go sista, soul sista, flow sista! I love little gems where you can have some good food, good vibes and great company! My sugar sugar came by my job and we decided to hang out locally until traffic died down. We actually were looking for another restaurant and realized it wasn't there. He recommended this spot in the same area. For some of y'all this may be a normal place to go but for me it was my first experience and I was excited! My hot date and I have a tradition of trying espresso martinis wherever we go. So of course we ordered those. He got the veggie burger and I got the chicken piccata - subbed the chicken for salmon. The waitress recommended to have it blackened. So glad I did!! The salmon was a great cut and seasoned and cooked to perfection! The noodles with the lemon and capers were amazing. It came with a side of arugula salad that was tasty, especially with the generous amount of shaved Parmesan on top! Sugar sugar's burger was good and his fries were yummy!! Service was great from our host, to the waitress, to the people who brought our martinis and dinner out. The weather was fantastic so sitting outside was definitely a treat. I'll be back for sure for that salmon piccata and asking for that espresso martini ya-ya da-da!!!

Extensive menu with lots of delicious looking dishes. We ordered what our server suggested and all were very good. Nice and friendly staff. Will definitely come again if in the area.

This trip to gain weight didn't start out great, but my last few meals have been delicious. This.... was exquisite. The ambiance is essentially a relaxed, somewhat higher class, brunch setting. There are fountains outside, and a full service bar. My mom and I dressed business casual in preparation. For some reason, the salmon Benedict comes with three poached eggs, not two...and NOT complaining. The English muffins stayed crispy.... something restaurants don't often get correct...and the salmon was perfectly smoked. My potatoes were perfectly cooked as well. Mom enjoyed her banana French toast as well ..and her eggs were scrambled to her liking My inner child quite enjoyed his hot chocolate. For a fancy, but perfectly delicious breakfast/brunch..... I would highly recommend

Coming to the Calabasas Commons is a tradition for us as we drive up the California coast. We always stop by Marmalade Café to enjoy the great service and beautiful scenery. The turtles out front are such an awesome touch--and yes, they definitely travel outside of the pond! I'm a sucker for bread, so anywhere that serves good bread is an automatic win for me. This place is truly a must-try. I had the eggs Benedict, which were perfectly poached and full of flavor. The potatoes were seasoned with the perfect amount of savory spices. They were also able to cater to my gluten-free and dairy-free sister, which is always a huge plus. And the Luxe Bagel was so refreshing. I can't wait to come back because Marmalade Café never disappoints. As you can see, we are always happy to be here!

I came here a couple weeks ago and decided to try the lobster tacos. I also ordered the calamari and the beef tacos. Everything was delicious, but the lobster tacos were definitely the my fav. The sauce was great, the spice level was perfect, and the flavors were amazing. The service was also great. I've been here before but this was my first time trying the tacos and they definitely did not disappoint.

New Years Day - seated right away for brunch and had a perfect meal. While it's a bit loud in here with all the conversation, it feels warm and comfortable, and the food was on point. While we were waiting, we had fresh baked sourdough that was crisp on the outside and steaming and soft on the inside. I had the Gilson's 3-egg avocado, bacon, and cheddar scramble with a mushroom bisque side. Super tasty. My guy had French toast with berry and banana and (blueberries and strawberries). Robert was our server and he was super nice and made sure we never lacked for anything. Perfect way to start the new year!

The marmalade cafe is my favorite place to come for a nice drink and chat with the nicest bartender ever. He is so attentive and makes the best lemon drops! I have been here at least every other month and it is always consistent and delicious. Shout out to the bartender for providing the best service I have had in a long time. He needs a raise! Will definitely be back.

If you want to spend $24 for a breakfast bagel, and old salad, go there. They brought butter and jelly, but when we asked for bread, they said it is 10:30 am, and we have bread at basket at 11:00 am? So I am supposed to seat another 30 min for bread with my breakfast?! Server was very nice, ambiance is good at Calabasas Commons, so credit goes to Commons. Table was wet and dirty. We had to ask them to clean it. We spent around $30-35 per person for a very ordinary breakfast plates. I will not go back.

Great service- our server was very friendly and ended up bringing out a scoop of ice cream after my friend brought up it was my birthday (so sweet). I ordered the Cross Creek breakfast which includes pancakes, eggs and bacon. Everything was great and I ended up taking the pancakes home since it was a lot of food. Ambiance is nice, it was pretty full around 10am. There are lots of stores nearby to shop at if you want to stick around longer.

    Waffles and Fried Chicken

My mom and I had brunch here this morning and I can't stop thinking about the fried chicken and waffles. I love that the waffles were cut in quarters and were served with maple syrup and a side of bacon chutney. The chutney is one of the most delicious things I've tasted in a long time. At one point I was eating the chutney by itself. The boneless chicken breast was cooked perfectly and the waffles were very light and crispy. I'm dreaming about coming back to have this very same breakfast again. Service was very good and the ambience is typical of all the Marmalade cafés.

A MUST!!!! A perfect combination! SHELTON'S FARMS TURKEY MEATLOAF | 24.99 Ground turkey with chopped baby spinach, carrots & onions, slow baked & served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes, sundried tomato gravy & green beans with almonds. The wedge of sourdough bread, served with butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, was also, so good!! And the service was excellent!

First, parking is rough. And by rough, I mean practically nonexistent. If valet is available, use it. If valet is full, good luck finding a spot nearby. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside and has a great atmosphere for watching a game. The place was packed, but our server was outstanding. Given the crowd, especially during the World Cup match, the service was impressive and easily one of the highlights of the evening. The drink menu offers a large selection of beers and spirits. The cocktails were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. As for the food, it was mostly average. The pork belly tasted more like carnitas, which wasn't necessarily bad, just not what I expected. The cheese balls received mixed reviews at our table. I thought they could have used a little more seasoning, but I was in the minority on that one. The crab cakes were small and, for me, lacked the most important ingredient--crab. Opinions were split at the table, but they didn't work for me. The house chips had a nice texture, although the frying oil tasted like it may have been due for a change. The smash burger was decent but nothing special. The steak frites were okay; I believe it was hanger steak, so take that for what it's worth. The shredded beef sliders were also just okay. Overall, I'd definitely return if I was in the area to watch a game and have a few drinks. The atmosphere and service make it worth a visit. However, if food is your primary reason for going, there are better options nearby.

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use.

However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends.
