Huge kudos to the team at Sagebrush for helping me create a fun, casual and celebratory happy hour birthday gathering for my wife. Manager Mario made it easy to reserve a spot for 30 people, events manager Cheryl made it easy to review and select platters of appetizers, and our dedicated server, Cassie, deftly handled drink orders and special requests with a smile and a perfect personality. I must admit that I haven't eaten at Sagebrush in quite a while -- our recent visits have been later in the evening to have drinks and listen to the bands they have on their outdoor stage -- so I was glad to be reminded that many of the menu items really are top notch. Guacamole was a very pleasant surprise, with plenty of avocado flavor, a touch of garlic, and just enough hidden heat to make you notice it for the really enjoyable snack it once was before becoming the city's most ubiquitous condiment. Chicken wings were meaty and crispy, with a very spicy sauce that everyone really enjoyed, while the cheese quesadilla (for our vegetarian friends) was given a lovely presentation despite its plainness, and tasted quite good. But the real star of the table was the BBQ Brisket Taquitos. Now, while they call them taquitos, these are much, much bigger than what you would expect; more like chimichangas. Big flour tortillas packed with brisket and deep fried, then sliced into snack-friendly pieces and served with BBQ sauce for dipping. There are no unnecessary adornments here, the filling is all Brisket, which had a deep smoky flavor and was lightly melded with a thankfully-bespoke barbecue sauce that added a touch of sweet and spice without becoming cloying. So, extra kudos to the kitchen for making food that doesn't taste like everything you get everywhere else. Aside from the obvious conclusion (it's a great place to host a party!), this was a terrific reminder to stop in for a regular meal, to enjoy what the kitchen is doing, and to enjoy some time in a fun and festive place that knows how to take good care of their guests. read more

I've been here multiple times, and I'd describe the food as mediocre overall. We've had a few good dishes, but we've also had several that were forgettable. The desserts are much better than the main menu. The restaurant is huge and has a cool atmosphere, but the service is consistently slow. Every time we've visited, we've waited around 30 minutes just to get drinks, even when the restaurant wasn't packed. On one occasion, we had to go find someone and ask for them ourselves. The valet parking is also a little strange. I don't mind paying for valet, especially since it's affordable, but it doesn't really match the restaurant's overall feel. read more

I attended a graduation luncheon and had a wonderful time at Sagebrush Cantina. The customer service was excellent! Food was always available. The patio had a great space for the luncheon! Food was flowing: Pizza, Fruit platter, Chips and Salsa, Buffalo wings, Quesadillas, Chicken Satay, Iced Tea, Lemonade and Water. A great time held by all. I came for Thursday night drag queen bingo. The actual bingo with was a blast. The host Roxy Wood (https://www.instagram.com/foxxyroxywood) put in a fun show. Unfortunately I still don't plan on going back. Sorry Roxy, I'll catch you somewhere else. Another yelp review described the crowd as MAGA rednecks. This is absolutely correct. They seem to cater to this crowd so it may appeal so some people but not me. On top of the nonstop stares, several patrons went out of their way to try to make me feel uncomfortable (I was the only black person there). One going so far to loudly make a discouraging comment about Kamala Harris as I walked by. Our server was clearly overwhelmed which resulted in rude, sporadic service. The reviews about the food are true. The food was awful. We ordered nachos - cold and bland. On the plus side, the drinks were strong & fairly cheap. The valet staff is very friendly. Attended a fundraiser event here. We were set up in a tent, right off the parking lot, full bar, well lit and round tables of 10. Had an old rustic southern vibe. Food stations were set up to choose your food items while servers took your drink order,starters and dessert. Pasta Primavera, fettuccine Alfredo, mashed potatoes and gravy, Grilled chicken, roast beef by the slice and rolls were on the menu. All of the items were pretty good. So far I've been here for brunch, lunch and dinner. My favorite has to be Sunday brunch! Live mariachi band, omelette bar and bottomless mimosas. It's always good vibes here. The food overall is mediocre. Don't expect to eat fine quality here but it does the job if you just want to have regular Mexican food, good portion sizes and good vibes. It is a little overpriced for what you're eating so I wouldn't come here when I want to eat food quality Mexican food. However they do have a a good variety so I'll give them that. Parking is valet parking only and might be tough to find street parking. There's plenty of spots to sit at including the two large outside patio spaces, inside and the bar inside. Overall food, chill spot to have a good time. But again wouldn't make this my top choice for food. read more

Tons of food variety and not to mention the quick service - out mimosas were consistently topped off and our dirty plates were removed from the table before we could even return with the next. The mix of mariachi, cover bands, and Djs make for a great time filled with community and lots of dancing! Also, special shoutout to Hawk in Security for always making sure the environment stays a safe and lighthearted space. He always makes us feel so welcomed and is one of the many reasons Sagebrush is a favorite spot! Would love to see this place get a photobooth. I have lived in So. Cal. for the majority of my life, knew of Sagebrush Cantina of course, but never had been here. Decided to try it out for a business lunch for an out of town client for something different. They have a beautiful outside area and patio dining, so of course we had to sit outside and enjoy the So Cal weather. Our server greeted us right away and was very nice, a big group came in right after us, but she was still very attentive. As soon as we sat down, we had chips and salsa on the table, which is always a plus. The chips were decent and the salsa had good flavor, but very middle of the road as far as spice level and taste. I did order their Habanero salsa, which costs a couple extra bucks, but worth it, spice level is there, has a kick and great flavor, so well worth it for me, I prefer spice. She kept our drinks full, which is huge for me. We ordered and our food came out quick, another positive. I decided to go with the asada tacos, comes with 2 tacos and a side of rice and beans. Would have expected three tacos for the price tag being almost $20. I did enjoy the asada inside the tacos, but the corn tortillas were just OK. Having hand made would make them amazing. Rice and beans were also a 2.5/5. It is disappointing that their menu is mainly Mexican food and we are in So Cal where there is some of the greatest Mexican food around and their food falls short in that regard. A few tweaks and some Abuela love would really elevate this spot. Sagebrush Cantina is located in the old town district of Calabasas,m. Inside and the grounds are historic and amazing. Feels like an old West town and you are really walking in the footsteps of the history of So Cal. They have been around since 1974 and have hosted many concerts and events over the years as well as stars. On the day I visited Emelio Estevez was there eating lunch, pretty cool. For the historic significance of this place, decor, concerts, grounds, etc. 5/5. Food on the other hand a disappointing 2.5/5. My husband, our friend, and I came into Sagebrush Cantina to celebrate our friend's birthday a few weeks back. This was a favorite place for my friends and I to go to back in the 90's to 2000s. We went to listen to music and eat great food!! We decided it had been too long since coming here, so we wanted to check it out again. The owner, Arturo, and his daughter were absolutely delightful! There was a small error in what we ordered, and it wasn't anything serious either, but the owner Arturo, came over to our table and felt terrible. He wanted nothing but the best service for his customers! He proceeded to give us desserts on the house and checked back to be sure everything was great, asked if there was anything else he could do, etc... He is so gracious and kind that it was just so exceptionally nice. I apologize that it took a while to get to this review, but it definitely did not go unnoticed. I had a great experience here. I had their quesadilla and my son had their chicken tacos plate. Both were fresh and excellent! We were there at lunchtime and the place was not too busy so we got some really great service and our server was friendly and helpful. Very comfortable and casual mood. Came in for a small bite and a cocktail after a day at the beach and really enjoy this place. I haven't been here in many many years and it looks like they've really expanded it. Huge outdoor seating areas and a very large indoor seating and bar areas. Lovely misters everywhere to keep you cool during the hot days. Drinks were made well and came out quickly. We shared the El Matador and the Thai spiced dressing on the chicken skewers was lovely. Very flavorful with medium heat. Luciano was a wonderful server. "A stable in Calabasas." I think you meant "staple" but maybe not. Lol. Yes, SC has been in a local landmark in the area but its history is the only reason to enjoy. I think the owners and management believe those past memories will be enough to keep us coming back. Wrong. This place is begging for Bar Rescue or some sort of intervention to make it a place I want to frequent again. My most recent visit was predictably bad; the food, service, drink and vibes were all lacking. This neighborhood deserves better but won't have management deflects and makes excuses for these posts. We want you to be better. From those of us who live here or pass through - you have so much potential and just wished I could be a regular like I was 10-15 years ago. We stopped by impromptu, coming back from the beach in Malibu for a quick drink and a little rest. Always enjoy coming to this place, so many memories of visiting here starting back in the 90s! My buddies and I have been going to lunch once a week for over 10 years. We rotate through about 5 or 6 restaurants. Sagebrush has been in the rotation the entire time. On a nice day, the ambiance on the patio can't be beat. The food is OK and the prices are fair for what you get. So why the one star rating? They just started having a $7 valet at lunchtime. We each arrive separately so the fee is adding 7 bucks to a lunch meal. Sorry, but that is a bridge too far. Sagebrush is no longer in our rotation. Calabasas area has too many places to eat lunch with no valet fees. I suspect they will lose a lot of lunchtime business with this new policy. read more

The only reason this review isn't getting a 1 star is because the server who ended up helping us, after our original server let us sit for 30 min without as much as a hello, saved the day. Granted it was a busy Saturday night and it's graduation season, there were some pretty big parties, a slight delay is understandable, but 30 min with only the busser that brought us chips and water as our contact is pretty absurd. Note: the person who was supposed to be our server walked by and around our table maybe 10 times to her other tables and big party. We didn't wanna be rude (especially since when we got there there was another guest complaining loudly to the host about their wait) so after 30 min of no contact we asked the busser if they could grab our server. I saw the busser speak with a few people who all seemed to nod and give an ok, but still, nothing. Another 15 minutes go by with no server so finally we had to wave one down who wasn't our server. Thankfully we waved down Mitchell who was super cool and on point. He got our order, had a great attitude and was the only thing that held our experience together. As someone who works in service and a former server, I empathize with the chaos that comes with the industry but it's gonna happen, and you gotta be able to hold it down or know when to ask for help, or at least say hi? If it wasn't for Mitchell this review would've been a 1 star, which we all know is bad for business. Hopefully management takes this as a note to address their wait times. read more

The menu didn't offer many appealing options, and nothing stood out enough for us to want to order a meal. We originally planned to eat, but we left after one drink. Everything I tried was either bland, the eggs Benedict, or overly salty (Everything else). The service was attentive and friendly and the day was perfect! I've been to this place once before and remember it being absolutely packed, this time it was quite empty for 5pm. Not complaining, easy parking! I was greeted right away and lead to a booth to wait for my friend to show up, the drinks come super quick! I got the pineapple spicy margarita and it was delicious. My friend got her usual Cadillac margarita. We also ordered the appetizer platter and my favorite were the roll up thingys that were cheesy and gooey and delicious, though everything on it was good. The only thing drove me and my friend up the wall is the table seated by us with moms who didn't give a damn and let their children run wild yelling and dragging each other in the chairs which scraped across the floor. I wish the staff would have said something to them. Other than that, it's definitely a great spot to grab a drink after work, I will be coming back to try their sizzling platters that looked and smelled delicious (as they were being delivered to a nearby table) but we filled up on the apps so no room for that this visit. read more

This is a special spot. Especially if you grew up in the area. I've been here many times in my younger years. Fast forward 20 years, I brought my human here for dinner, and we had a great time. Unfortunately, it was raining, and we missed out on the outdoor experience. My chicken fajitas were absolutely delicious. A must order for any fajita lover. They were reasonably priced, and the portion was enough for two. My guy ordered the lobster enchiladas that were equally delicious, according to him. We washed them down with a couple of margaritas and a couple of baskets of chips and salsa. Service was friendly. Prices are great. I love coming here in Sunday mornings for their all you can eat buffet. They have an egg/omelette station, seafood (oysters, shrimp, and salmon), meat, fruit and dessert stations. Plus it's all you can drink champagne and orange juice. It's around $35 per person. There's plenty of parking ($6) and indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Holiday Brunch was typically done at LaPaz. However after the Covid years. La Paz opted not to continue serving Sunday Brunch. What to do what to do. Enter Sagebrush. Thank You Baby Jesus. They were in the same general location and did not disappoint. A complete Brunch with all the standards and some things that La Paz never served. Taco Bar was good. Dodger Dogs were great for the kids, as were the flat bread pizzas. But the desert were top notch as was that chocolate fountain. Bottomless mimosa were great too.
