So it seems I'm not the only one who has seen this bad side of the owner. I also came across bad reviews on Yelp. And the fact that your salon needs to have Groupons and Yelp coupons running for over 3 years tells me the business is suffering (the reviews on Groupon go back as far as 2013). Our "weapon" was an iPhone, and my husband recorded her abusive words while she was doing her screaming and flailing her hands around. Very classless business owner. I can see why her employees can't stay there very long. Interesting thing was when I told the owner that I was going to write a Yelp review and said she didn't care, that she wasn't afraid of Yelp reviews. Look at her now, for someone who didn't care about the bad review she knew was coming, she is sure spending a lot of her time defending herself, which typically shows a guilty person. The good news is Glam rock salon is excellent, and I will go back to see her for color. She is in Wheaton, and if anyone wants excellent color with Pravana colors from a young and happy person, she is one good option to try (see my 5 star review on her). Another great small salon for people to try is Salon Blu in Western Springs, good cuts and color as well, she is an older woman, and very jovial and sweet. Mario Tricoci in Oakbrook is nice as well, but a bigger salon. I wanted to see what else was out there, but I will stick to what I know to be good. Lesson learned: Look at not only Yelp reviews, but Groupon reviews as well. If the reviews go back years, then there is a reason for that. On a side note: I feel bad for this owner, I hope she gets the help she needs for her anger so that she can run a good business and hold onto employees.

I decided to get a last minute spray tan and they were able to take me in right away. (plus they had a special going on $15! cant beat that!!) All the ladies that I dealt with in the salon were very nice and friendly. The regular prices in the salon for hair services are not bad at all. I will be coming back here again very soon, especially if they keep doing the $15 spray tans!!

Theresa was rude to my disabled mother, rude to my son and refused to listen to my mother and give my daughter a tiny trim. When I called Theresa was rude to me, laughed at my complaints, encouraged me to post bad reviews and refused to refund our money. I cannot believe this place stays in business! She was very quick to respond, texted me a question to ensure I had the right amount of time set aside. I had a little bit of a hard time finding it. I have even been to the BBQ place right next door, but never really noticed the salons right next door. It says "Salons Etc." and it seems to be set up where there is a main entrance and then stylists have their own private mini salons. Very cute. Dana was very pleasant, professional, enjoyable to be around. She did a great job with my highlights and cut. I made a follow-up appointment, and again had a great experience with requesting a time online and the appointment was confirmed in less than an hour. I did not find the being on the phone thing mentioned in a few other reviews to be an issue. But honestly, I wouldn't have a problem with it anyway. My expectation/hope when I get my hair done is to walk out with hair I'm happy with. Glancing at a phone or answering a text is irrelevant to that. She's doing everything herself, so I would think she might need to multitask a little sometimes?

I love Innovations, but only needed blunt baby trims. Unfortunately the price was the same no matter the cut, so I tried other salons to cut costs. Bad idea! I experienced disaster after disaster. I couldn't chance one more uneven cut, so went back to Innovations. Antoinette is on maternity leave, so I was referred to Leah. Wow, is she great! She cut my hair exactly how I wanted: evening it out with a blunt cut. It looks so much fuller and healthier! She also explained how a cut my mom had always done actually adds an angle. I never realized, but it made total sense! I skipped the blow-dry and style. In short: Leah listened to what I wanted, gave her input, and executed the cut exactly how I wanted! It's worth every penny to not be stressed out over any more bad cuts!

It looks like a chic house on Winfield road, right before the tracks, so it's very easily missed. The first appointment I had I just needed to get a trim. Kandy was the stylist that cut my hair. I absolutely love what she did. She she actually listened to what I had to say, which is kind of a rarity when it comes to stylish salons. I really don't do a lot of "styling" on my hair. I don't, and won't, spend a whole lot of time in front of the mirror styling my hair every morning. I usually don't even dye my hair. I told Kandy that I really wanted something that would give me a little bit of volume and still keep some length, and something that I wasn't gonna have to spend 30 minutes in front of the mirror every morning to look good, she came up with a wonderful cut for me. She cut my hair in longer, soft layers and it looked fabulous! Now, we all know that your hair looks great the first day out of the salon and quickly turns back to "meh" the next day. I was pleasantly surprised in this case. My style actually held up pretty well and I didn't need to put any product in it! It remains that way to this day, going for regular visits. Everybody there is very sweet and helpful and not at snotty, which I experienced at several different upscale salons around the area. Infinity has a great environment, too. It has a kind of minimalist feel to it without feeling empty. It's not super crowded with a whole bunch of product, though they do carry Pureology as their house brand. I really like the set up in there. It makes it feel nice and open and relaxing instead of cluttered and busy. I have met probably everybody on staff and absolutely love every single one of them. I've had a couple of the other stylists there cut my hair since and they've all done a fabulous job. I even decided to go with some warm highlights last fall and it came out wonderful. The colorist made my hair look so natural. The place is very clean, relaxing, stylish, and all the employees are great. I would really recommend giving this place a try, even against some of the bigger salons in the area. They did a better job than my $130 haircut I had at a downtown salon for half the price. Their availability is flexible too, which is important for me and my busy schedule. This is my go to salon!
