I was done greeted by Carly at the Front Desk who was very happy to help me. We were lucky to get a room on a high floor with a great view of Lookout Mountain. The rooms were very clean. The only hiccup we had was that we ordered food for the team from the hotel that was cold but a group of teenagers usually doesn't complain about food overall we had a great experience. You can use the trolley to get downtown. It makes a stop at the Marriott and is free but accept donations. The bed we slept in was soft and comfortable. read more

We stayed here for one night and unfortunately my husband ended up leaving some hanging work clothes behind. We immediately called the hotel shortly after realizing our mistake. We were told they would have housekeeping check and they would call us back. We were told they would hold his clothing when they found them. We never received a call back. Great place to stay in Chattanooga, TN. My stay was for 2 weeks for work. I never allowed a maid to enter my room to clean but she did great. She left all my belongings alone and picked up anything that was obviously trash, made my bed, took out my trash and refilled toiletries. The pool was pretty, had a nice view. My favorite part was the gym. They have the biggest gym with the most equipment I've ever seen in a hotel ever! I stayed on the 7th floor. My view was decent my coworkers had the pool view and it was nice but I enjoyed my view for the people watching if I wanted to peek out and see others :) read more

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL! My wife and I returned to this hotel after a hike and lunch to take a nap before dinner. At about 4pm or so, we were awakened from a deep sleep by blaring sirens and flashing lights of the fire alarm in our room. We dressed hurriedly and ran down the 9 flights of stairs, an older couple behind us who had come from the 16th floor. Later that night, we were again awakened from a deep sleep sometime shortly after midnight. Another false alarm. It was tough to fall asleep after two false alarms in one day. I kept waking up wondering when the next alarm would go off. The next day, we came back to the hotel about 3:30 p.m., but our room had not been cleaned. The maid asked for 20 minutes or so, so we went downstairs to sit in the lobby. I took that opportunity to go to the front desk to ask if the problem with the fire alarm panel had been corrected. Then woman I spoke to did not know what had happened the previous day. She went over to the woman on the left and whispered something in her ear. That woman then acknowledged me and said she was the acting manager. She said the first alarm had been triggered by someone using a steam iron and that the second alarm had been triggered by someone vaping. That person had been "fined" she said. She apologized for my "inconvenience" but offered no accommodation. Two false alarms in one day is a very dangerous occurrence. What percentage of their guests would actually evacuate after two non-fire alarms if in fact there was a third alarm caused by a real fire? The bit about the steam iron is especially difficult to believe. Why wouldn't the shower also set off the alarm? It seems this property is badly in need of an update in its fire detection equipment. However, there seem to be no incentives for this owner to spend the money on that, as the only consequence of the false alarm was that the property owner received a fine from a guest! OTHER PROBLEMS: The shower door would not stay closed (we had to jam a washcloth in the door to keep it closed). The $18 breakfast buffet was not offered on Monday because "we aren't busy enough." When we did go to the buffet on another day, we got a nice sermon about Jesus from the waitress when we got our check. Parking is next door at the convention center. The hotel charges $25 for a pass to park there. We noticed the next day that the convention center's parking rates are $20 for 24 hours, so the hotel franchisee is pocketing the difference. MARRIOTT PROBLEMS: This hotel has the same room design as many flagship Marriotts, specifically that the bathroom door is a heavy sliding door. It makes a rumbling sound when it is opened or closed that is enough to wake someone up when going to the bathroom at night. This door does not seal the bathroom, so that bathroom sounds and smells are as vivid to a guest in the room as they are to the person in the bathroom. Whatever genius designed this decided to include a full size frosted glass pane in the sliding door. This allows the bright light from the bathroom to light up the bedroom at night. As if that weren't bad enough, a full length mirror is placed directly across from the bathroom door, so that the bright light from the bathroom is reflected onto the bed where someone is likely to be sleeping. If you have problems with a Marriott hotel, don't expect Marriott to help. I copied corporate management on my complaints about Chattanooga and several times they apologized for my inconvenience and said the matter was referred to the hotel management, taking no action themselves. This is clearly a franchise owner who apparently doesn't care what the guests think. If you must patronize Marriott, I recommend Fairfield Inn, where you get your money's worth and a free breakfast, to boot. read more

Nice stay while in Chattanooga. I grabbed dinner at the bar downstairs. I ordered the club Sandwich and fries on the side. The kitchen brought it out in a to go bag even though I was hoping to just relax and eat there. It was fine but I'm sure presentation was lacking a bit. They also had a seasonal old fashioned for the fall which was really good. Breakfast is pretty standard breakfast buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, bread and yogurt options. Beautiful, clean rooms. The check in and check out was easy it is best to use the app. The bathroom has no ventilation/fan. No soap dish in the shower which meant your shampoo, soap, etc had nowhere to go. I could hear noise from the hall and the room next door throughout my stay. Staff was very nice and friendly. Valets were friendly and helpful. Front door is just steps away from the convention center and accessible to food and Downtown attractions within walking distance. read more

What can you say when a hotel (not a motel) places you in a room that is not clean with a comforter that I can only describe as unlaundered? The housekeeper they sent up to the room to "remedy" the situation apologized at least and seemed truly shamed by her coworkers lack of effort. I had to ask to speak to a manager before I was even offered another room and they seemed incredulous when I asked to inspect it before the concierge left. What do you say to filth and then being given a $10 food card. Why would I want food from you? Who knows what's happening in the kitchen. My stay was not long. Also, Marriott Bonvoy corporate you are pathetic as well. The condescension from your customer service was disheartening and Uber Eats points for Marriott Bonvoy are useless because of how you treat your customers. At least the hotel sent a survey for me to fill out. Marriott Bonvoy did not follow up. Which says to me this is a corporate down to local problem. My money will be going elsewhere. This is such a nice Marriott and is located right in downtown Chattanooga. Myself and my husband decided on this hotel since it was close. The hotel we beautiful and very clean. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed for the weekend. We also visited the bar for drinks and were treated very well. The bat staff were attentive and had our drinks and snacks ready quickly. Additionally, the breakfast in the dining room in the morning was fantastic. The menu was smaller than expected but had something to please everyone. The best thing about staying here is the location. It overlooks downtown Chattanooga and is pretty central to everything. We found it easy to walk around and use the tourist trolly that the city offers for free. read more

Someone has certainly come in and really stepped up their game on multiple levels. As Titanium's - we loved the M Club, and we're placed on the 16th floor - great breakfast, staff and the room and hotel felt as clean as it has in the many times I've stayed there. Marriott could afford the combo. A couple of things I didn't care for. Ugh! Marriotts new toiletry line of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Why did they change it? DO NOT USE VALET PARKING! We were there Labor Day weekend. We arrived 6-6:30 Saturday evening. Evidently, there was some event taking place because there was a lot of foot traffic to the convention center. The next day, at approximately 2-2:30, we prepared to leave the hotel. When the valet brought our vehicle, it was obviously ransacked. There was no damage to the vehicle, so obviously, it was left unsecured. We immediately reported it to the valet and to the manager on duty at the hotel. We didn't want to call the police because it would reflect badly on the hotel. They were very solicitous at the time, but what ensued was less than satisfactory. After an inventory of the vehicle, I discovered a pair of earrings were missing. We were promised calls from the valet service repeatedly. No one ever called us unless we reached out first. I left multiple messages with Sam. He never responded. I believe he blocked me. Twenty three days later, I finally got a call from the City Manager of the valet service. He basically accused me of lying and offered no resolution or recompense for the stolen earrings. read more

Stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding in late August, 2nd time in Chattanooga but first time spending a night in the city. The hotel is located a bit far from downtown (about a 25 min walk, or a 10 min free electric tram ride) and is about a 30 min drive from the airport. However, be prepared to pay for parking if you drive!! The hotel pull up area is a bit small and very busy so feel rushed when loading or unloading but the valets were friendly. The lobby is renovated and beautiful, and the front desk staff is very friendly (though not locals, they're leveraging students or interns). Check in process was relatively quick, and we got free bottles of water upon request. The room was very spacious with a king bed, coach, armchair, coffee table, and enough space to not seem crowded. The bathroom was recently remodeled as well so that was comfortable. No issues with wifi or anything else that I encountered. The breakfast as part of my platinum benefit was the best spread I've ever had, even compared to 5- star resorts. Biscuits and sausage crazy, honey glazed fried chicken over waffles, fresh omelette station, biscuits and 10 kinds of jam and butter. AMAZING! read more

This is a really good hotel. It is not as glamorous as some of the Marriotts I've stayed in, but very good (I love Marriott beds and pillows!). I'm scheduled to be in this hotel for a week, so I have lots of baggage (two suitcases, computer bag, hanging clothes, etc.) which I didn't want to deal with at check-in. I had no worries since the very wonderful valet/bellman, Jack, was ready to help and did so wonderfully. Not only did he unload the car onto a rolling cart, he stayed with me and my belongings throughout the very short check-in process and up to the room. He's a young college student, but very mature in how he chats with hotel guests. He was a great introduction to this hotel and its fine staff. read more

Why 3 Stars? Outdated classic Full Service Marriott with poor quality updates. This hotel has great Staff, from the wait staff in the restaurant, to the front desk staff making things right, to even fulfilling requests quickly they didn't disappoint this "Marriott Platinum Elite" member (I don't boast about this...travelling as much as I did at one point means that I was away from home 25-50% of the year). Why did I only give it 3 instead of a 4 or 5 star? Front desk staff at 4am. Yes I get it, you work the night shift, I understand it sucks, but please pay attention when people talk to you. When I say "Hey I want to check out of room 1234." Don't give me the "What you talking about?" face. I get that you lack sleep because you have a night job but if you see a customer approach the front desk at 3am or 6am you need to at least pretend to be alert, get your feet off the desk and act like a professional. Other than that, the rest of the staff is what I expect from a Marriott. You all are dealing with an old hotel... It's tough. Also whoever painted your numbers on the elevators, you need to call back and re-paint them so things are a little easier to read. read more

They offered me a Moon Pie when I checked in so that made me five star happy! My hubs and I decided on a weekend getaway to Chattanooga and he had some Marriott points to use so this Marriott was the perfect fit. It's attached to the convention center which usually means that it's in an ideal place for food, coffee, and walkable social options and this one had all three. As we pulled in we were greeted by the valet staff. They were warm and friendly and welcomed us to the city. They helped us unload our vehicle and directed us to the front desk. The front desk staff was warm and friendly as well, the young girl checking is in was training but it didn't lead to any delays, she was professional and helpful and got us checked in and on our way after offering us each a Moon Pie. I love Moon Pies so this was a real game changer for me lol. The hotel lobby was clean and neat with plenty of seating options if you were in need of them. We made it up to our room on the 14th floor and it was beautiful! The view was great and the room was comfortable. I love Marriotts for their ease and comfortability, the beds are always great and the room always has plenty of space. Also, for the ladies out there, the bathrooms always have makeup lighting!!! Score for the ladies!! I swear every time I tell my husband how much I want those in my own house. We opted for this short stay not to order room service but it is available for all meals. They also allow you to opt out of cleaning service...should you opt out you have the option of Marriott points OR to plant a tree! As we left we called for our car and the valet service was super quick! They loaded up our bags and sent us on our way telling us they would see us next time. We checked into this hotel on New Year's eve. My standard request in my Marriott profile is always a high floor and pleasant views. This location did not disappoint. They were able to accommodate my requests even though this was a last minute reservation. Our room was on the 12th floor with views of the mountains. Very nice views of the mountains I might add. Our plans were to visit the nearby gardens and view the holiday lights. It was so cold, we decided against that. The front desk staff was very professional and accommodating. We had a minor issue with the room and they took care of it right away after being brought to the staff's attention. This is the worst of all Marriott hotels .... The Concierge Lounge is closed but they do not tell you until you have checked in. Send to the 16th floor after we checked in but there is no 16 button... There is a "C" for Concierge but no heads up. The restaurant is closed. And the bar is horrific. First, the pros. The BED. That bed was so comfy! I was here for work in long meetings and that bed was just scrumptious on my exhausted self. The room was spotlessly clean. The women behind the bar were very funny and personable. The cons. Front desk clueless on every occasion I interacted with them. Starting with my late arrival (as planned with my reservation), when I trudged from the horrific parking garage (another con) down a long tunnel to arrive at a locked door. House phone? Okay, sure. Answer? Not the first time, not the second, not the third. Twenty rings each time before it disconnected. I banged on the door with my fist, to no avail. The fourth time she answered. A guy let me in. Exhausted, I went to check in. No apology, no nothing. In fact, she said "no problem". Yes, it in fact was a problem. Breakfast was supposed to come with my company rate, but she said no. Multiple lookups, still no. Finally she looked it up in a THREE RING BINDER because we had apparently traveled back in time to 1983. And found it. That bed was comfy though. Both stars to the bed read more

NPWH. I was lucky enough to get to see Kristin L last night, when she was here for business, and happy to visit her at the Marriott. This is one of Marriott's convention center hotels, so it is big and it's designed for large groups, meetings, etc. Huge lobby, but it's welcoming and it's also pretty! Good layout for the meetings/convention rooms to be apart from the guest rooms (so it would be an ok place if you just stayed here as a regular guest visiting Chatt). A nice feature is that all entrance doors other than the main lobby lock after 10p and can only be opened with a valid guest key. Good safety feature. We met in the bar area upstairs - she'd had a verrry long day and needed a glass of wine or two! - and the staff was great. They are used to dealing with business folks who need to unwind; while we were the quiet ones who were easy, several groups of business guys were a little more, um, fun. The manager kept a good eye and by closing at 11, the staff smoothly got everyone out. Good food menu, of mostly typical hotel fair (club sandwiches, salads, some pasta and such) and surprisingly decent prices (ie a mixed green salad with chicken added is $12 which isn't crazy more than at a local restaurant). Not an elegant or historic place like the Read House, but it does its job well and is definitely a place to consider when you are on business travel. read more

Seems like a nice hotel with a friendly staff just had a few issues. Key card readers appear to be very slow to react so using the elevator and getting into your room is a bit of a challenge. The bathroom door/closet door is interesting to say the least. It is a sliding door witch when open acts as a closet door. When closed it is the bathroom door however, it does not block out any sound so anyone you may be staying with can "hear" everything in the bathroom, not a good design in my opinion. TV in the room was great 55" with internet TV built in with HBO GO, Netflix, YouTube , Crackle. Bed was pretty comfortable, carpet was a bit dirty with obvious stains here and there. A/C was a bit slow to cool down the room, took most of the day and only finally cooled down at night. read more

From the beginning the valet was very quick. Check in staff was friendly. We got up to our room after a long drive and the room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was quiet. During check in I was told that they would be starting construction in the morning so the lounge would be closed. So they gave us free passes for breakfast in their restaurant. We ate dinner in their Table south restaurant. Their crab soup was amazing with real crab. We tired the steak and I had the southern burger. Everything was delicious and the service was quick. I highly recommend trying their restaurant. The next morning I went to breakfast in the table south restaurant. They had an omelette station set up. With a standard Marriott buffet. The omelette was very good and the waiter was very attentive and quick. I had room service for lunch. I was sooo happy to see that they had real room service and not that cheap looking fresh bites. I had the Caesar salad with the ford green tomatoes. Both were very good. I had to try the pecan pie for the dessert. It was very moist and hit the sweet tooth spot. My better half had a meeting that ran late till 6pm and Rachel the manger from front desk let me stay two hours later then regular late check out at four pm. Thanks Rachel! I only herd the construction for about an hour and it wasn't very loud. I highly recommend this hotel. It was a very comfortable stay. read more

Marriott Platinum member so I'm very familiar with the Marriott experience. Room was fine, clean. Hotel is in a great location. My poor review is due to an extremely disturbing experience of racism we experiences at this location. While eating breakfast in the concierge lounge my friend, a Hispanic woman, was asked if she was allowed to be eating there. You can't enter the room without a properly coded key. No one else, all white patrons including me, were asked to provide proof. I've visited Marriotts all over the country and never witnessed them asking anyone if they can be there including my teenage son with punk hair and piercings. Racist, insulting. We spent our anniversary here this year. The hotel is just slightly dated and it shows in decor/TVs but they make up for it and more with the best customer service I've ever received as a hotel guest. We said we were celebrating our anniversary and they upgraded us to a suite (at no charge) and sent up champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! Absolutely first class! I stayed here on 8/12/20. And used a third party to make my reservations, like I normally do. But, this particular time, I incurred a parking fee that I was never informed about. This practice is shady and dishonest at best. No one at the front desk informed me that there was a charge for parking or any other services(Internet, etc...) This definitely makes me reconsider my using this chain ever again. I called the reservations helpline to find out what this mysterious charge was. But, was not given a definite answer. Other than, it must have been for parking. But, I was never informed that parking was not included in my stay. But, if I would have been a member of their hotel club, then no fees would have been incurred. Wow! I thought the $92.00, that I paid for 16 hours in the room, would have covered that. Nice hotel, the area right around the hotel didn't have too much happening, if you weren't there for an event at the convention center. They had a great Concierge Lounge(16th floor), that had some good snacks in the evening (even grilled cheese bites and tomato soup, which was a really nice touch.) I really hate writing reviews like this but before I put out all of the negatives about this place and there are alot, lets discuss the positives. Great location in downtown Chattanooga Tennessee. The Valet boys are awesome. The Customer Service is great! Cute little moon pies at the front desk. The views are astounding. Lastly, the food in the concierge and the breakfast in the restaurant on level 2 are great. Jennifer our hostess in the concierge lounge for the duration of our stay was great and attentive. Put all of these things aside and the hotel should be demolished and built again from the ground up. My nightmare began when our company moved us from the beautiful brand new Westin down the street, Not sure why they did that as the price points were similar. I'm guessing that maybe the Westin simply didn't have availability for 21 straight nights for 100 plus consultants. The decor is totally outdated and redrumish. The water took forever to drain in the bath tub which was very irritating. I said you know, it is what it is you must take the good with the bad. the room was comfortable and it had a nice view. I disinfected it with my supplies lit candles and I got comfy in my room. 4 days into my stay I was greeted by Mr cockroach on my way to work. I simply killed him and informed the front desk. I didn't have time to thoroughly address this as I was on my way to work. I made sure to speak to the manager that evening I believe her name is Rachel. She had no knowledge of the incident. Okay cool, they moved me to room 1122. Two days after staying in the room I woke up with 3 bites on my arm. (pictures) added. They are consistent with bed bug bites as they are in a line. I asked the ER doctor at Erlanger and she confirmed that she thought it was the same but there was no definite way of confirming. The maintenance lead whom was very nice came up and did a initial inspection which yielded nothing. They called Eco Lab in which supposedly gave a negative report. I was still moved to room 1416 where I had no problems for the rest of my stay. The Managers on both occasions agreed to give me bonus points which would equate to 2 free nights which I have yet to receive. I also have yet to receive the official report from Eco Lab which I requested from the manager weeks ago. As a person that travels 100 percent for my job, carrying something home is one of my major fears so I take special precautions to prevent that, Even though they said that the room was negative I washed EVERYTHING in hot water and dried on sanitizing heat. I left my suitcases outside for a few days after spraying them with bedbug and flea spray. They are in the middle of renovating this place but pest issues are something that renovations cant help, sometimes they in fact make things worse. I was hoping that the roach thing at least was a fluke but on my way to work one morning there was a smashed roach in the entrance from the parking garage. I really hope that they address these issues and get it together because its quite ridiculous for any hotel let alone a hotel with the Marriott brand. read more
