Our first visit to Outlaw Kitchen absolutely lived up to the hype--and then some. The experience as…read morea whole was fantastic: warm, attentive service, a beautifully restored house, and food that invites you to slow down and enjoy every bite. We started with the beet and dill salmon on crostini, which was such a fun and memorable dish. Piling everything on yourself made it interactive, almost playful, and you could make each bite as beautiful as you wanted. The flavors were bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. We ordered all of the entrées--choucroute, hanger steak, and sweet pea risotto--and every single one was delicious. That said, the risotto completely stole the show for me. Creamy and rich without being heavy, it was packed with mushrooms, sweet peas, and delicate pea shoots. The salty, umami depth from the cheese paired beautifully with little bursts of sweetness from the peas--it was honestly exceptional. Outlaw Kitchen is the kind of place where everything works together: the food, the service, and the space. It feels intentional, personal, and special without ever being pretentious. We were blown away on our first visit and can't wait to come back.

Everything was well timed, except when we were trying to get the check. All the staff seemed to be kind and professional. The patio is lovely, but I imagine it can be uncomfortable in the summer heat. Now for the food. Overall it was good. I found some components spectacular, but felt like some lacked seasoning. I was looking forward to the arancini the most. The croquet itself was crunchy and that cheese was definitely telefono style, but needed some seasoning. The pomodoro was tasty, but the basil made it fabulous. Y'all know how I feel about basil. The ravioli was filled with spinach, mushroom, and ricotta with a brown butter sage sauce. It was delicious and the portion was perfect. My favorite part though was the crunchy shitaki "bacon"and butternut squash. I would take a bowl of that in a heartbeat and would absolutely go back for a butternut squash main dish. It was perfectly roasted and full of flavor and those shitaki were amazing. The preserved lemon vinaigrette over lettuces was phenomenal. Incredible fresh flavor. Desert was chocolate torte and sour cream ice cream. The ice cream was the absolute star of the show. The sweet vanilla was incredible. I sampled the halibut and shrimp and it was perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back to try other offerings.

We had a large party of nine and we waited about ten minutes that was great timing. The restaurant offers a full bar with some crafted cocktails. We stated off with some Crispy onion rings which were a perfect start fresh and hot perfectly coated deliciousness. We all ordered meals including steak and shrimp cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly paired with loaded mashed which was enough for two. Two of us opted for the chicken fried steak. Seasoned and fried to a crisp golden with white gravy and a large heap of skin on mashed that were creamy and delicious. One fried shrimp platter hot and good. One fried catfish which was also prepared perfectly paired with cocktail sauce but they added on the tartar sauce. One kid had sirloin and mashed and she finished the entire steak. One chicken fried chicken which was also good. The portion sizes are generous , hot and fresh. We paired our meal with a few bar cocktails including old fashioned , martini , and margarine tossed in a few beers and we had a time. We weren't rush or slow to get service. All in all we enjoyed the meal , the vibe is good. When weather cooperates they have some outdoor seating options as well. Try it for yourself ! All in was 274.00 before gratuity for nine people and drinks. Good value !

For food my husband and I got the Sauce trio (I'm pregnant and dips have been really important to me lol) and the two salsas and queso were delicious! Also it came out super quick. For entrees my husband got the Chicken Fried Steak with loaded mashed potatoes and I ordered the fried gulf shrimp with fries. My husband really enjoyed his entree and commented it was probably the best Chicken fried steak he's had in town. My food was good too but since I've never been here I didn't realize their fries were potato wedges? Super thick, kinda moist, and just wasn't what I pictured when I ordered fries. Not the end of the world though, I'd still say the food overall was great. I'd definitely come back and eat on the patio, I'm glad I finally got to go here after all these years!

The location is prime and the restaurant is nice and great vibe. Really enjoyed the options and the infusions across food as well as the bar. What was a bit confusing was the small plates versus big plates. The big plates were the same size as the small plates, not sure what the difference was for portion. Additionally our server forgot our drinks, actually cleared food prior to be eaten - my wife was like, where did the rest of my salad go and it was just a bit awkward. I realize these are students! BUT its service and the gratuity is pre-added into the bill. What I would recommend is a gratuity tier system where the lower end is added automatically and the normal level is a choice.

The service was amazing .. though as they got busy about 6.30pm, service fell off a little. I do recommend a reservation for any time after 6pm. We started with small plates. The French Onion soup had a hearty flavor though it was more bread than broth. The Pear gorgonzola salad was amazing ... pears soaked in red wine paired with room temp gorgonzola, green and a light vinaigrette. The escargot brought yums. I had the braised short ribs. Super tender .. fall apart. I would have liked a little more veggies and a heartier sauce. The streak and fries was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For dessert, the creme brulee was glass on top and pure custard underneath ... perfect consistency. The mousse was a deep chocolate flavor with a tasty almond cookie. So many items I want to go back and try. Definitely recommend!!!
