This may be the best Mexican restaurant in the area. It's not TexMex. They don't serve burritos. They do have great food and awesome drinks. Adriana was our server and did an excellent job with our group of 7. The chips and salsa to start were excellent. Great salsas and queso for dipping. While they have dining inside and out, we opted for inside. I started off with The Original Michelada which is a spicy type Bloody Caesar in a large Margarita glass with spicy salt on the rim (cayenne?). Then comes the Corona beer which I poured into the concoction. It was not only great, it lasted the entire meal. For main course, I ordered the Enchiladas Mixtas which is 3 different types of chicken enchiladas with different seasonings and flavors. Complimented by refried beans and Spanish rice. This place is a San Antonio GEM!!! From our server Tommy, the out of this world chilaquiles, and the amazing restaurant vibe, this place is top tier. My wife got the Verde and Rojo Chilaquiles and I got the Verde and mole Chilaquiles and they were done within 5-7 minutes and to perfection. The had a lot of sauce and the crunch was still there when you took your first mouth watering bite. The beans had a classic Mexican recipe flavor to them. Not salty or paste-like that other places serve. The salsa they bring out with the chips while you're waiting is AMAZING! Perfect balance of seasoning and super fresh tasting. Our server, Tommy was so attentive and a great personality. If the restaurant knows anything people like him are what helps makes the experience flawless at their establishment. I wish him well. The restaurant building itself is just beautiful! The plants and flowers just add to its beauty. The service right when you walk in is so welcoming and they take care of you like your family. Our waiter Paul was one of the best waiters we have had in a while. He was friendly to my 2 daughters (2 and 4 year old) and was making jokes with them to keep them laughing. The food was delicious authentic Mexican food. It's not Texmex which we wanted. The mole was a little sweeter than usual but my wife and dad both still loved it. The poblano enchiladas were perfect according to my mom. She wanted it spicy but not too spicy and they definitely met her needs. The fajitas were pretty good. Steak was pretty tough, so I wish they could have cooked it for less time and the chicken was flavorful with the onions and peppers it came with. The best was the cucumber vodkarita. Came here to attend a neighborhood meeting during happy hour. The restaurant is lovely and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. I snacked on chips and queso, which I haven't commented on in a minute, but I almost always order them if they are on the menu. Their queso was velvety smooth and tasty. The chips were addictive. I'm big on reviewing "best of" lists, and at some point, this joint found its way into my bookmarks thanks to some list... My wife and I arrived early for what we hoped would be a quiet date night, and were seated in the larger "common room" near the kitchen entrance, not the bar/atrium/sun room area. Unfortunately, our date night wasn't so quiet. Shortly after we sat, a large table of about ten was seated nearby. They were so loud (and progressively got louder) we could barely carry on a conversation. I was disappointed in the queso flameado starter as it did not stay soft very long; it hardened quickly. I don't think it's worth the price. What was worth the price, though, was the Tampiquena de Res. The meal was huge, and the skirt steak was not tough to cut. The charro beans were also fantastic. Service was friendly, but spotty. Our waitress checking on us amounted her to asking how everything was as she continued walking by .... I think this place has a great vibe; I'm sorry it was ruined for us by a huge, loud, crowded table. Although I'd skip the queso flameado, I'd definitely go back for that skirt steak! read more

We chose this beautiful restaurant to celebrate a birthday with family, and while the food was absolutely fantastic, it was the incredible staff that we will never forget. During our meal, my daughter's blood sugar dropped dangerously low due to her Type 1 diabetes. An amazing employee named Jordie (apologies if misspelled!) jumped right into action. He went completely above and beyond, rushing out juice, sweet tea, and strawberries with whipped cream to help get her numbers up He kept checking back in to make sure she was okay and even shared that his own little sister has Diabetes, which brought us so much comfort in a scary moment. Thank God she was fine after a while! (And yes, she still had to pay for her dinner, haha, but it was worth every penny!) Stopped in for lunch today. I've driven by over and again but I've never been in. The place was well lit and the decor was fun! However, the food is a different type of Mexican food. Lots of chipotle in the food. Pozole was on the menu today and I was happy about it. It was ok. No matter how many limes I put in it I couldn't taste the lime or change the color of the broth. When I asked if the corn tortillas were homemade I was told yes....they weren't! We also ordered chicken soft tacos. They were also ok. But the sauce was orange and not the typical ranchera sauce you would expect. We also tried the beef enchiladas. Those were tasty! The service was good.
