I found this store because my mom needed shoes, and she refused for me to get them online. They have a good selection of shoes, and the young lady assisting me was courteous. She left to help someone else, and I didn't see her anymore. So I asked a young male that works there for assistance. He was also courteous and helpful. I would have given this place five stars because of the shoe selection and those two workers if it weren't for what happened next. I was at the counter with my mom, and she wanted to get some of those disposable try-on socks from the box. She's an older person, so she was struggling with taking one out of the box. Well, a woman was sitting in front of a computer next to the counter and saw my mom doing this. She got up from her seat and took the box away from my mom! I told her that she just wanted to get some try-on socks, and she said, "I took the box away because people tend to steal the entire box." What the heck?! I explained to her that was definitely not the case and she took two socks and gave them to my mom. She was very disrespectful. I do not know if she is the owner or the daughter's owner. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, absolutely exceptional service from ALL staff. The service was incredibly personalized and everyone was super warm. I felt like we were amongst family. Courtney assisted us in finding the right shoe for flat feet. She was very detailed and knowledgeable about shoes and comfortability specifics. If you suffer from high/low arch or flat feet, I would recommend coming here. They know the shoe builds very well and provide you w a shoe that is comfortable for your specific foot type. Wrote a review six years ago. Marsdans is really the Cadillac of shoes/orthotics and difficult feet. My podiatrist told me this many years ago and I firmly agree. I need both a customized shoe as well a customized orthotics. For about 16 years, I've been satisfied with the shoes/orthotics customized for me. Took my pops in for a custom shoe appointment and was impressed with their set up of 3-4 individual stalls setup for foot consultations and measurements. Each provides privacy so that customers are not self-conscious of their feet. I took my friend Jan to Marsden shoes because of the great five star rating on yelp. The first time we were there the sales woman was not very nice and the owner. You have seven days to return shoes but you better only wear them on carpet. Jan drags her feet and they said she wore them outside which she did not. I hate writing bad reviews but I feel the need to tell people not to go there they are over priced as well!! read more

I have no complaints. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shoes are focused on customers that have foot problems and medical issues and for this reason they aren't cheap in quality or price. DO NOT BUY Shoes from this store. Be aware of spending money there. I think they are running a very dishonest business. I was referred by my doctor to this store. They sold me two pairs of shoes. One pair was not available and they ordered it for me. I brought the pair that was given to me home. The shoe was very uncomfortable. Because of that, I called and canceled my other pair of shoes within hours. Now they are charging my credit card for the pair of shoes that they never delivered to me. If you need a specific fit, maybe it is wide feet, or maybe narrow. This old fashioned shoe store carries special sizes. And a added plus there are real shoe customization with a cobbler. I was referred to Marsden's by my podiatrist. The door was locked when I arrived but an employee quickly unlocked it, squirted hand sanitizer in my hands, and took my temp!! LOVE THIS. I was seated and given very personal service: measured my feet, brought two options, ortho inserts cut to fit, and I was done. I felt Covid safe, and my feet are super happy. We've been patronizing Marsden's 10 years. They're located a long distance from our place but the drive is worth it. One of my feet has a problem due to a bone which shifted position with age. The pain was so bad I couldn't walk. Benjamin removed the manufacturer's inner construction in a pair of off the rack shoes and rebuilt the interior. Now I'm walking again. The staff is very competent and they care about their clientele. The shop is nothing to look at -- no fancy décor or staff dressed in designer duds. But their service and products are solid. I need orthopedic shoes because of arthritis. The helpers the best help I've gotten retail in probably 20 years. He spent a hour trying to find the exact shoes that I needed. We tried on three different sizes and tried on five different shoes. Until we found the exact one that felt most comfortable I was best for my feet. They make their own insoles so they really do fit you right. My shoe expert was Robert and he was fantastic and I'm kind of a pain so he was very patient. I came home and looked for these exact ones on EBay and the shoes NEW were between $70-90 and insoles $15 !! I know they have to mark up stuff but this is highway Robbery!! read more

After 3 podiatry visits, steroid shots in toe/foot to alleviate inflammation/pain from bone spur issues, and a pending surgery referral, a friend recommended I check out Marsden's. I went when I still had tenderness and some pain but much of my inflammation had subsided. I was greeted and helped immediately. I have not received this level of attentive, knowledgeable, professional customer service since I was a kid and it was the norm back then. My foot was measured and different shoes presented and adjustments were made until they fit to perfection. I purchased 2 pairs of shoes- flats for work and athletic shoes. What a difference the correct fit with personalized adjustments made! I feel this was money well spent-an investment in my health and so worth it. I am hoping I will be able to avoid surgery. Highly recommend. Kevin went above and beyond. He was caring and patient. Worth the drive to Whittier from L.A.; worth the money. They even make custom order shoes. Men's and women's shoes as well as slippers. Street parking as well as nearby structure parking available. I paid $2 in structure for all day parking. Very happy. We went for the very first time to Marsden's Shoes. I was hesitant to go because I wasn't sure they would have a style of Athletic Shoe my 17 year old son would like. The Podiatrist recommended the place to us so we went. We were so pleasantly surprised with the amazing service. Keven was so knowledgeable about shoes, comfort, feet, and insoles. He analyzed the insole the podiatrist gave my son, measured his feet and spoke to my son as to what styles and color of shoe he preferred. Keven then went to the back and brought out different brand of athletic shoes and tried them all on my son. He was so patient and accommodating. Marsden's changed my life. For ten years previous to coming here I had terrible foot pain due to fallen arches and bone spurs. The custom orthotics made by the podiatrist did little to help. As a result I had become inactive and overweight. During my first visit to Marsden's, five years ago, after examining the wear on my shoes and how I walked, Carlos disappeared into the back for about ten minutes and emerged with an off the shelf orthotic customized to my foot. As long as I've worn these I've NEVER had any more foot pain. As a result I was able to start exercising again and have since lost 80 lbs. Marsden's is all about service. They spend A LOT of time with each customer to insure the right fit. This being the case, you should call ahead to make an appointment, or be prepared to wait behind the other people who have. read more

Took my elderly mom here. This store was recommended by other senior citizens who live in her retirement community. Great place if you have difficulty fitting shoes because of foot problems. Knowledgeable and patient sales people who know what's in stock. My mom has always gotten custom-fitted orthotics for her shoes and was amazed when she was able to buy shoes here off the rack that were comfortable for her foot problem. The salesman also offered to order a pair because he didn't have her size in a shoe she wanted. Warning: the shoes here are conservative.
