I had a bad experience in Marshall weeks ago and was very disappointed so I wrote reviews as below! Their store manager reached me afterwards, helped me resolve this issue sincerely, I am appreciated that she took effort to make things right! Hopefully my review could help other customers avoiding similar experiences. I bought a back scrubber 2 weeks ago , and left it hanging in my guest bathroom, damn thing just fall apart on its own! I took back in Marshall's for a refund or exchange for something else! I can't believe what staffs there told me ! One staff said :" they have no relationship with manufacturers, so if there have quality problems , You need contact manufacturer on your own to resolve it ! " What !? !!!!! Went in there tonight and had Rachel at the front help me out with a return at register 5. I was super tired after my long day and just trying to get all my errands in. I'm a huge dog lover. I went to this Marshall's (very clean, organized) about two months back and I was in line to get checked out. Behind me there's this mother and son with their Maltese dog. This dog was sniffing everywhere, jumping on people, and growling. Keep in mind they extended his leash very long so the pup can explore. All of this is happening while we were waiting in line. People were getting frustrated, but nobody spoke up. I was getting frustrated too because this pup PEED ON THE FLOOR NEAR MY SHOES. The owners had no consideration for the people around them or I. At this point we were all annoyed with dog. When it was my turn to pay, I asked the cashier if dogs were allowed in the store. She gave me dirty look and went on a rant on how service dogs are allowed in any establishment bla bla bla. Lol lady this was no service dog. I've been around service dogs and they don't behave the way this Maltese did. I explained to her and pointed at the dog and I told her that it peed and she proceeded to tell me that she'll get someone to pick it up later. Lmao what??? People were literally walking over the puddle of urine. Manger was just staring at me the whole time and didn't say a word. Incompetent staff will not be returning! read more

The old Asian man who works here is very rude. I made a return with all the tags and bar codes, but was missing the Marshalls tag; he made me feel like I was trying to make a fraudulent return. All of the other employees are nice except for this guy. read more

I often shop at this Marshalls store on Carmel Mt. Road and find that they have a good selection including clothing, shoes, home items and even pet supplies of all kinds. During the Christmas season they carry a variety of food items as well as Christmas decorations and supplies. The store is clean, well organized and well managed. There are usually several cashiers available to help customers and if there are several people in line there will often be an employee that is friendly and helpful chatting with people and aiding them in going to the next available cashier. James, the Coordinator, is very good with customers and actually makes them feel as if this Marshalls is a comfortable, friendly and pleasant store to shop in. He always seems to be everywhere on the floor and in the front with the cashiers working hard. During one of my visits there I didn't grab a cart since I wasn't sure what I would end up finding and my hands were full of some clothing and other items. Minerva, an employee there, rushed to grab me a cart when she saw me. She was very friendly and helpful and it was refreshing to see someone go out of their way to do this. Having shopped at other Marshalls stores in San Diego I have found that this seems to be one of the better stocked and well run Marshalls. read more

Easy to see why there are so few current reviews. What happened to your shoe selection??? Skimpy. Not much high end/dressy shoes to choose from. The dress selection was oh-so-tiny. I realize folks do not dress up much anymore, but still...... you should be able to offer something better than what you have. Folks still need to dress stylish, and slightly conservative for those milestone celebrations. Weddings. Anniversaries. Graduations, Birthdays (with a zero in the #), and so forth. I will say this, the store was clean, and nicely organized. Cashiers were quick, pleasant/friendly. Just not a good selection of anything I needed to buy. I still Love Marshalls. Good items, good price. However, my sister and I had to return a clothing item, and the older lady who was doing the return seemed very upset. The tags were cut off- yeah, I get it, I'm sorry. She never let it go and sighed a lot. She made it so clear that we were inconveniencing her. She never gave us a smile. I bought a pair of shoes. I never even tried on the shoes. I didn't even touch the tags and when I went to return the shoes with the original receipt 24 hours later I was refused a return. No explaination whatsoever. The store manager just dumped the shoes in the bag and told me to run a long. I will never shop here again. The store didn't even honor their own posted return policy. I kept asking why they wouldn't return the shoes I bought less than 24 hours ago, I never wore them, the tags where still attached and I had the original receipt. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! read more

my friend and I came here not expecting to buy much if anything at all. We both left super happy with a cart load of stuff. Marshalls has seriously stepped up their game. The layout and merchandise has gotten so organized since i've last visited this location (6 months ago maybe?) It doesn't feel like a goddamn maze anymore. I'm super excited with the amount of facial and essential oils I found. I'll definitely be stopping by more especially during Halloween time. read more

I wanted to give this store a 5 star for the amazing customer service I received a few weeks ago but since then, I have visit this Marshalls 2 times and each time, my cashier is Jerri, I am constantly pushed to get a Marshalls credit card that will save me $15-20. Its really not that serious. I feel like if I have said no, it should be just that. Even when I say "No thank you, i'm not interested", I still get asked multiple times again "Are you sure?". The people on the floor are amazing and seem very genuine. The store is also very organized. For that, I will give the store a 3 star. Was looking at the makeup and saw they were putting new higher end items out, was looking through the bins as people normally do and the lady who was putting the items out didnt even speak to me or ask me to move or anything, just kind of pushed her way through, gave me a dirty look, and then went back to placing the makeup. Thought that was kind of rude, felt that if she didnt want me in her way she could have atleast asked politely for me to step aside. Troy the manager was so incredibly kind and went above and beyond for me. I came in to return a little fire truck I bought for my son because it was missing parts. Our experience shopping here on Sunday (7/10) afternoon was excellent, there were a lot of neat things I don't usually see in Marshall's. Our experience checking out, however, was very different. The gentleman that checked us out had a "manager on duty" tag on his shirt which surprised me. As he went through the things we were purchasing to ring them up he picked up my "rose hip oil" (a moisturizing oil you're supposed to use all over your body for moisturizing before using lotion) and made inappropriate comments towards us making my boyfriend and I very uncomfortable, such as looking at my boyfriend while holding the product and mentioning "you're gonna have a good night!" and other small comments. I doubt we will return to this location just because of the embarrassment and discomfort, especially coming from a manager on duty. Very unprofessional. read more

This review is for an employee who I wish I would of gotten her name! I had been in line and i was next once the cashier was open I was starting to walk towards her and she tell me No and calls the lady behind me. Why idk they were of the same race so all i can do is guess and say they knew each other and the worker was going to take her before me to give her the employee discount. I don't see another reason why she would not help me while I was the one next in line. What made me more mad is that my toddler had to go to the restroom it was pretty visible i was in a rush. I only had 3 items. Due to that i had to leave the line to get him in the bathroom. I did not bother to even buy my items after that. Man, I love Marshalls, and this one seems to be VERY well stocked with all the things I love best. Maybe it was just the day I went, but I was very pleased with their selection. I always find the best yoga pants at Marshalls, and sports bras. I will never pay full price for those items because they're SO pricey elsewhere! On my most recent trip I got a yoga mat for $13 that retails for $30, so essentially over half off! I also like finding trendier items at Marshalls and accessories, because even if they go out of style, at least you didn't have to pay too much for them. read more

This is my FAVORITE Marshall's of all. I have only been a few times because of it's lack of proximity to Chula Juana but it doesn't matter. They carry women's size 11's y'all! Not a lot but enough to make me smile. But reference my comment about cashier school in my La Jolla Marshall's review, the cashiers at Carmel Mountain must have gotten Valedictorian in their class. read more

It's hit and miss. Sometimes you can find some really good deals here, but many times it's meh. There have been enough awesome finds at this particular location to merit 4 stars though, and it's much nicer than some of the other ones out there. My girlfriend LOVES this place, especially for the shoes. I've never seen so many shoes! It's like half the store! So not a lot of guy stuff here, but my lovely lady is super hot when she shops, and this place was driving me head over heels for her when we visited here over the weekend. It's big, clean, seemed organized, fast checkout line, and some good deals. She even let me pick out a candle to buy! My only complaint is that some of the aisles can be a little cramped, especially when you're trying to follow your girlfriend around and watch her hottness shop. read more

I like ross, I do. But I really like here better. I find higher quality items, and more of a selection. It feels more like a department store, minus the huge prices. I don't feel dirty when I shop here, and everything's super organized. I don't have the staff following me around, which I love. I like to shop for dressier items here, and I love their shoe selection. Name brand perfume is super on sale and that made my day. All the employees are super duper nice and the line moves fairly fast, unless you have some grandma returning like 15 items. Normally I have a good experience here. Sadly this review was about an employee. An employee that was making announcements over the PA about raising money for charity. Normally that's not an issue but this employee was bragging about the amount of money raised was asking questions to other employees while still on the PA and not the way I would approach it. This employee was very vocal and would playfully shun those who would not donate. I don't appreciate being annoyed while trying to shop and then guilt tripped at the register. I donate to charity's but I prefer to research them before blindly handing out. I'm sure the employee means well but I'd recommend other ways to promote donations to charity where it wouldn't annoy or disturb the customer read more

This is a pretty good store in terms of merchandise. These types of stores can be a little hit or miss because the stock is always changing, but if you timing is right good deals can be had. It's usually worth a look, but be willing to walk if what you are looking for is not there. read more

The one star is only because I found a great nike flash running jacket for $60 which can't be beat (as they run at $200+) I quickly bought it but secretly wondered why it was even still there since it was so cheap, I quickly bought it & went home. As I went to try it on I realized there was no zipper! I was shocked at first but since I already fell in love with the jacket I decided to find a dry cleaner & pay to have one out on however my father told me I should go back to marshalls & see if they would give an additional discount considering that was pricey for something you couldn't even wear properly. The first girl who helped me was very friendly but the manager was a complete ***** she said it wouldn't be discounted again because it already dropped from $120 seriously? For something with no zipper? Then my dad asked if she thought that was a fair price? She said I'm not going to answer you in a condescending tone, whoa lady calm down then she proceeded to tell us " it's either you want it or do you don't" excuse me but that's not customer service, I worked in customer service & you would never hear me talk to a customer the way we were spoken to whether they were right or wrong she didn't even offer any help to check in the back or find something similar she really needed to get off her high horse so for those of you beware of the manager who wears glasses(an older lady) & has brown hair my advice is avoid her at all costs she doesn't even help you & makes you feel like **** for asking simple questions anyone would want to know. I am more of a department store shopper for no particular reason. However, this Marshalls, conveniently located close to my house, may change my opinion of overlooking the non-mall stores. Recently I have noticed that the womens clothing in Marshalls has definetely become alot more trendy. In the past, it seemed to carry dowdy, not quite so attrative, retro (not stylish but items that did not sell in the 70s and 80s) clothing. I have found some great items and spent my children's inheritance at this particular store on my day off (columbus day). The only things that I do not enjoy are the dressing rooms where the employees feel the need to county my items that i am bringing in, twice, and then recount them when I carry out a #6 and say that I am keeping five items while I hand her one. I wish they were as neurotic about their care and concern for the neatness of the dressing rooms so I didn't have to tip toe over a mind field of hangers in each dressing stall. Also, the temperature in the store is unusually warm. I am not pmsing or going through menopause. It is just a warm store. I do appreciate the new way of organizing the cash registers in a Frys way. when a cashier is available, an automated voice will let you know (i.e., "number 5 is open). However, if they had more than 2 or 3 cashiers working, the lines would move more efficiently. I will be back to purchase more clothes at Marshalls for sure. My employer has recently indicated a "NO JEANS" policy so I will be forced (sigh ...) to shop for more clothes. Im turning a negative into a positive. read more

Okay so I'm mad at my friends for holding out on me!?! I'm a bargain shopper and knowing that Ive been paying full price for things i could of got her for 1/2 off is sooo depressing.lol It seemed like everyone knew about his place when i gushed about it. SHEESH!.Any who, I've lives across the street from Marshall's for a year and have not once gone near it. I guess I assumed it was like Ross's Ive been to-chaotic and crowded. I had made it a point to go to the shops around my house, that including Marshall's, and I'm SO glad i did. First I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and organization. Second was the variety and prices!!! WHOA! Clothes, Kitchen ware, intimates, kids, shoes bedding, you name it, they had it. I saw a cute pair of Jessica Simpson boots reg: $198 for $99! All name brand stuff that isn't defective for 1/2 off. I. also found I super cute Roxy jacket for $24 and Juicy Couture bags for $90! Everything was priced so low I started my Christmas shopping early. I had entered the store around 330pm and didn't leave til around 5. I was lost in euphoria for what seemed like hours. I left with $400 dollars worth of stuff for $159. Can you say BARGAIN!!! :D Since then Ive had to restrict my self from going in because i want to buy everything. I hate all the customers that feel the need to pick something up to look at it and then drop it on the floor or walk around with it for hours, knowing that your not going to buy said item, and dump it where ever you please. This is why the store after 2 hours of opening looks like a bomb went off. These employees make nice displays and organize clothes by size for you(the customer)! Dont take blankets, or tablecloths out of their package when the size is on the damn thing, learn how to read! I really do not see anyone going to nordstroms and throwing merchandise on the floor, just because it's a discount store, it doesn't mean you have to act like a retard and behave like a flippin child in the toy department, because your parents dumped you there to shop as if it is a daycare. I was very disappointed with marshall's today. I stopped by to return a dog bed and some toys I had purchased from the San Marcos location approximately a week ago because I ended up not getting the dog. This was my first time at this particular location and I was not happy with the customer service. First I waited in the line for about 10 minutes which was annoying, but not a big issue. When I got to the cashier named Evelyn she was not friendly at all, no greeting or anything. I told her I was returning my items which had all of the tags still on and I had the receipt. She then accused me of using the dog bed and after I said no she continued inspecting the bed as if she did not believe me for what seemed like forever and I felt very uncomfortable. The bed stayed in my car and never moved since It was purchased last Sunday. She never apologized or gave an explanation on why she would think it was used and her overall tone and demeanor was rude and unfriendly. I'm still giving two stars because they have some amazing finds. read more
