I kinda hate this place. But in the past they have had designer purses and a whole wall of converse so I thought it would be a good choice when I had some time to kill. This particular store is pretty well organized, unlike many of the other ones I have been to which look like a hurricane just passed through. Didn't find anything though. The slowest, most condescending workers will be found here. I was told I could return something from home goods here because they were all sister companies. And even looked online to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. Only to be told "home goods is home goods. And Marshall's is Marshall's". Store is filthy and disgusting, not sure if anyone ever even attempts to clean. Anything purchased from here would obviously need to be disinfected and sanitized, it's that bad. It's also very evident that employees abhor their jobs and display their hatred through their attitudes and expressions. I made the mistake of buying a cheap kitchen gadget as I didn't wanna pay triple that anywhere else. Get it home and the object upon closer inspection is defective. Tried to take it back, with my receipt, for the whopping sum of $7.99. I threw out the packaging and figured it may be worth a shot to take it back since it's completely useless to me. I figure the worst they could say was no, you have to have the packaging. No big deal, I get it. But oh no, this extremely rude, clearly unhappy, large cashier girl proceeds to wave her finger at me, and out right accuse me of stealing the item, loudly exclaiming that the item wasn't on the receipt (how she could tell I have no idea since no packaging right?) I thought to myself, this girl is clearly not very bright, if someone were to steal something I'm pretty sure cheap, clunky awkwardly shaped kitchen gadgets probably wouldn't be their first choice, or even the last. After her tirade and finger jabbing at me, I simply say, wow, I'm not going to argue over $7.99 and left. Needless to say, my first and last visit to this place. read more

I am usually very pleased with my Marshall's shopping experience, but not this time. Maybe it was just the San Marcos location, but I felt like I was in a Ross; super busy, obnoxious kids everywhere with no supervision, and clothing racks needing some serious organizing. Honestly, I would stick with the Oceanside location. Plus, avoid peak shopping times...like Sunday afternoons. read more

By far my favorite Marshall's in my area. I frequently shop at multiple Marshall's locations, and am never as satisfied as I am by this one. I always leave with AT LEAST one item, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you slice it! ;) They recently remodeled, and the interior looks modern, clean, and well maintained. The employees are consistently helpful and friendly (not overbearing), and there is always more than enough to browse through. If I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else, I can trust that I will find it at Marshall's! I mean...a Rag & Bone t-shirt for 7 dollars? Need I say more? I Will definitely be back, at least weekly! read more

I see something in most Marshalls that does not always happen - most stores (including this one) is making a concerted effort to tidy up! It used to be like a garage sale but now......wow! I like this store but it annoys me to no end that cashiers at this store do not seem to know the return policy. Cashiers constantly argue with customers about giving store credit for purchases over 30 days. Today I overheard a cashier tell a customer that once a merchandise is no longer in the system that they cannot give store credit even with receipt. Here is the return policy from the Marshall's website: "Our customers continue to be our top priority. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, return the merchandise accompanied by a register receipt within 30 days of purchase, for an exchange or refund. A 10 day period is required for a cash refund on check purchases. Returns with receipts over 30 days or without a receipt will receive store credit only. Gift receipts are valid for store credit or exchange of merchandise only." read more

I shop at the nordstroms rack in this shopping center but for my trip to mexico I decided not to spend $200 on 4 items and instead went into Marshall's. I'm a fan of Marshall's but can't always find what I'm looking for. This location is difference. I left with all the outfits I need, plus travel gear to make my bag organized, mini flat iron (that others online paid $25 for and I paid $9), new sunglasses, keds for walking around the mayan ruins, some dog toys, and a new purse/carry on bag. Total you ask? $214. I'm going back today to buy the Michael kors purse I out back- they currently have a HUGE stock of them. read more

Very poor customer service. Was just in there and they would not exchange soemthing I purchase a few months ago. I am so angry as they have never mentioned that and I have been shopping a bunch at marshalls in the past. She didn't seem to care that I would not purchase today nor any other day. And really I think they should make a one time exception when you kindly ask, they can record my id and my marshalls credit card, which again I will no longer use. No thanks here. read more

I love bargain hunting and finding great deals. I love going to TJMaxx, Marshall's and Home Goods. The items you'll find at each store is different some have better name brand items than others depending on the area. This location is not too bad the store is fairly organized. They try their best to maintain it but it's impossible to keep it looking neat with so many items. I can find just about anything here. I found a great pair of Nine West flats for work last time. I find all my name brand kitchen aid and Rachel Ray kitchen items here. They have designer handbags and clothing. Kids and men's clothing sold here too. They have all the holiday items out right now. Really cute Christmas items and ornaments, things you would see at Macy's for double the price. I enjoy shopping here but prepare to dig around for items. read more

I like to come here since this is the nearest store that compares to home goods. They have a good selection of home decor. The pricing can vary. Furniture can be a bit over priced. I recently bought new pillows and kitchen decor. The lines can be long but the process is quick. read more

I like shopping here because they have pretty good deals here and there for clothes, shoes and home decor. I've never had a bad experience until today. I was in line to purchase some items then proceeded to pay because it was my turn. I walk up to the cashier and she starts scanning my items she takes out some shoes from the box and then looks up and asks size 10? With this look on her face. Second I asked if she could put an item on hold for me for tomorrow morning (which other girls have done for me before) she said that they only hold items till the end of the night all this while she's eyeballing me up and down giving me these looks so I just decide to take the item with me. She scans another pair of shoes that are a different size and she looks at me and asks me ohh you're a size 9 as well! As I proceed to tell her that those were for my mom. What the heck is here deal she wasn't trying to make small talk she was being rude. I work in customer service and MAYAs customer service was horrible!!! read more

I don't generally write reviews on Yelp. But I can't reach anyone at corporate today since it's Saturday. I have shopped at this store many times in the past, and it's always been a great experience. Today, however, I had to leave the store because there were two dogs walking on a leash in the store. They were not service dogs. I am allergic to dogs. I started to get hives my throat started to close up and my eyes started to itch. I can purchase what I wanted because I was having a reaction to the dog dander in the store. I talked to the manager who is very pleasant. The problem seems to be pet owners who feel that it's fine to take their pets with them anywhere they like. It's not appropriate, it's inconsiderate to both the pet and other people. While I certainly understand that you shouldn't leave your pet in the car while you're shopping, I also don't think it's appropriate to take a dog into a store while other people are shopping. I like animals, I wish I wasn't allergic to them I could have one too. You should leave your pet at home while you're shopping, unless it's a licensed service dog. read more

I've never written a review in my life, but this bad experience definitely deserves one. I was walking to the register to pay for a pair of shoes and it happened to be around closing time and I was basically "kicked out" for not paying before 9:30. The lady basically told me to get out. How extremely rude and unprofessional for them to ask me to leave even though I was about to walk to the register and pay for my things. I didn't refuse to leave, didn't give an attitude, I just wanted to buy a pair of shoes but the way they treat the customers is totally unacceptable and I will not ever come back and I don't recommend anyone who enjoys good customer service to shop here. I always come to Marshall's after going to nordstrom rack to see if they have better deals and they always do. The people who work here are friendly. This location is pretty decent in size and stock, but sometimes they run low on stock. So I check back every so often and they always have new stuff for sale. You have to be quick because if you see something you like it might not be there the next day. All the good stuff goes quick. read more
