I love this place. Great gluten free pizzas (bought crusts, I believe, but still...). Huge salads. This is our go-to pizza place in the south shore. Tips: have them confirm your order over the phone after you place it, I've had a couple of mix ups. If you're nearby, pick up your called-in pizza order. Delivery time can be lengthy. I was among the first customers when this place opened in 1976, and became a regular until I left town in 1984 for the service. Imagine my delight when yesterday, driving through town reminiscing I saw that they were still in business! I ordered the same sandwich I always had and after 31 years, it was still incredible. I've been going to Famous for 30+ years, they're better now than they've ever been. Reuben n Fries is huge, Pizzas are good, buff wings & tenders are awesome. We have never been disappointed by the portions or prices here. Where else can you get table service with cheap beverages & no tip? Seems like this place has gone downhill somewhat since the new owners..however, same friendly service which means a lot. Large pizzas are inconsistent and sometimes soggy. Small pizza was cooked perfect. They make the pizzas like dominos with an assembly line type moving rack through the oven from one side and the pizza comes out on the other. They need to adjust the rack speed which large pizzas are run through the oven so they are thoroughly cooked. Booths/seats were sticky from drinks had been spilled on them and hadn't been cleaned at all. Got pink stain from the spills probably fruit punch on my shorts and also soda when sitting there several times. Calzones are excellent. Loved it! I eat here constantly, inexpensive and you get a bang for your buck. The food was excellent, I had a pick-up order and it was the perfect temperature when I got it. It was delicious, got a crazy veggie wrap and it was OUTSTANDING! Highly recommend it to anyone who loves grilled veggies. Really, the reason I came here was to take note on the customer service aspect of Famous. The girl who answered the phone was beyond friendly and polite. She was very quick and efficient with the order and made no mistakes taking my order. I came in and the younger teenagers paid no attention to me WHATSOEVER. The girl who greeted me, was so friendly and held a conversation with me while I waited for my food and she put pizza boxes together. She was clearly college-aged, and made my experience at famous better than expected. I'd give it a 5 but the rest of the cashiers were too good to give a damn about customers. read more

FANTASTIC LOCAL FIND, If quality food is important, at most reasonable prices, this is the place to be. Marshfield Famous Pizza is a family owned restaurant that specializes in healthy entrees and pasta dishes alone with salads, burgers, calzones, wraps, grinders, panini's and yes, gourmet pizza's and much more. My favorites so far have been fresh baked haddock with rice pilaf, salad and garlic bread, chicken piccata over linguini with capers and fresh mushrooms, grinders and pizza. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza. They said 20 minutes and $14. I got there 20 minutes later, paid, and waited....and waited. ...until finally the cashier said it would be another 7 minutes, they dropped the pizza I ordered and was already waiting for. They didn't offer a discount or something free to eat or drink, but they said sorry. Thanks. Your being sorry doesn't feed me or pay for my time. Got the pizza home. Tried to grab a slice but the whole thing was a sloppy, congealed, dripping hot mess of runny red sauce on stale bread topped with cheap, flavorless cheese. So bad, so disgusting. I'm feeling ripped off for such horrible tasting pizza which was pretty expensive and not ready for pick up when promised. This was my second and final chance given to Famous by a lifelong resident who remembers the old Famous which used to serve affordable and yummy tasting pizza. Have given this place way too many chances. Ordered a small sausage sub toasted with a little bit of sauce and a pepperoni pizza. Delivery time wasn't bad this time but usually runs way over. The sub came loaded with more sauce then sausage and the bread if toasted was barely. The bread was so wet I had to pick out sausage(not many)for my dinner. The pizza was barely even warm. Unfortunately there's not much in area for delivery so I keep trying but this was the last time for me. read more

Here comes the fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice shame on me stupid saying! Well shame on me! I was in the mood for a burrito and my favorite take out place for those, Major League happened to be closed. So as a last minute decision I went with Famous. HUGE mistake! While reading the menu behind the counter the price is listed as 8.42 for a steak tip burrito. I got one with a 2.50 beer. Was charged 13.51. Once my food was ready I questioned why it was the price I was charged when if you add up the food posted and drink even with tax wouldn't come to that amount. Was told by the very nice girl, that all the prices on the menu board are wrong and she points to a small hand written note in teenage bubble writing you barely see stating that. She did say, I don't know why the owner hasn't changed them yet. The take out order menus on the counter have the current prices. I said that was false advertisement, but I guess I don't have an argument as they have that note previously mentioned taped up on the big menu board. The price issue is strictly a principle issue with me! ....as for the burrito? Complete rubbish! for 10.25, you get a burrito wrap LOADED with rice, then beans, with some tasteless marinated steak somewhere hidden in there. I've now learned my FINAL lesson with this place! Famous is a great place for food! Prices are right and the staff are very friendly. They are always willing to contribute to local charities/fundraisers and sporting events. Grew up in Marshfield and have watched the size of the place and the menu explode. Been going since the 80's. Loved stopping here after my shift at El Torito's that used to be where the 99 is now in Pembroke so I am really dating myself. I would have loved to give 4 or 5 stars but what has stopped me is the consistency. Sometimes the food us dead on perfect from a gourmet Fiesta Pizza, that one time came with potato chips on top and not tortilla chips as the menu states. To the gourmet calzones that have come burnt or missing ingredients. When they do it right,it is perfect. Never found it greasy as someone else mentioned but have had my share of errors and at top prices ( $18) for most gourmet pizzas I don't expect it to come burnt or with missing or wrong ingredients. I will however add that on the rare occasion that I actually picked up the phone because I was that upset they do try to make the customer happy. I will continue to go there and will update my star rating and review if the consistency of the food improves. We have had Pizzas like the Fiesta, Mac and Cheese, Meat Lovers and others as well as Philly Cheese Steak , Meat Lovers and Chicken Parm Calzones along with Grinders and Starters. All in all with its huge menu and friendly management and staff I would recommend Marshfield Famous Pizza. read more

I love Marshfield Famous Pizza for two reasons. The ingredients are amazing and the service is fast, efficient, and friendly. The atmosphere there could so easily become chaotic, and while I'm sure the employees must experience stress, they always seem pleasant and calm. I work in a nearby group home, and we have to get separate receipts for residents. If I had to ring up 4 orders separately, I'd punch somebody. These girls don't flinch. They take it all in stride, while the cooks shovel out sandwiches, subs, pizzas, and calzones at a breathtaking rate. The wait is never long, either. I actually wanted to get a Poopsies pizza on the way from home to work the other day, but it was going to be 30 minutes. I called Famous and they said 15. It was ready when I got there. It was delicious. It had black olives, which burst with flavor and fill the car with their sweet scent. I've never smelled an individual vegetable on a pizza in a car before. read more

After being ignored for 10 minutes we were able to order at the counter before sitting down in a booth to wait. We ordered a calzone, salad and pasta dish. While waiting for our food a server came up and down the seating area asking who ordered this buffalo chicken calzone and no one claimed it. When our food gets delivered 45 min later I am served that buffalo chicken calzone. I order buff chicken Mac and cheese calzone. It was cold and clearly they were trying to get away with giving me the one they made on accident. That is ridiculous because I had informed them of my food allergy which obviously was not taken in to consideration when making this calzone. I tried to eat it because the service was already so slow. Also our salad came with no dressing and we waiting 10 minutes for that to even get resolved. Never again. read more

The driver delivered my sub (it took 40 minutes, and I was 2 miles from the restaurant),told me he didn't have change, then never went to his car to get the correct change for a 20 dollar bill. When i called the restaurant, the manager refused to believe that that could ever happen. My sub was 18 dollars. Did I mention that they forgot the cheese? Food is good, when they get the order correct! I go here for lunch from time to time and they never have any slices available? That's the simplest sell, so I don't know why they don't have a slice pizza ready a the time. Also, at least 50% of the time I've been there, they got something wrong with the order. Today I called ahead for a sub that I asked to be toasted and I asked if they had slices today, and they actually did! So I asked to have one cheese put aside for me. Needless to say when I got there, there was no slice put aside for me and they were out! Also the girl answering the phone was rude several times, just in the way she handled herself on the phone. She put me on hold without asking, then started talking to someone else while I was in the middle of ordering! I then asked for my sub and they obviously forgot it too, since the girl couldn't find it and spoke quietly with the cook. So I then asked another girl to make sure the toasted it like it asked since I know they were just making it then. She said they did. Once again, of course they did not. This is not unusual at all for this place! Like I said, the food is good, they just need to train their people better read more

I got a cheese steaks, a cheeseburger subs and a pizza as well as salads. everything but the salads were burnt to a crisp - the rolls and bottom of the pizza were black. the hamburger so well done, it was hard. called the place and was told I would get half my money back as a credit. I ordered 3 pizzas, was quoted an hour for delivery. A little long, but since it was Friday we accepted it. 2 pizzas showed up ice cold after an hour and 10 minutes, we had several adults and several kids. The pizza that didn't show up was the cheese pizza so the kids couldn't eat. I called back to let them know, they told me I only paid for 2. After explaining to 2 people that it wasn't the point about what I paid for, that I needed the 3rd pizza because of the crowd we had. the manager finally came on the phone and asked what the problem was. WE NEEDED ANOTHER PIZZA. he said it would be right there, I asked if we would wait an hour for it he said it would be right there. we waited exactly an hour again for the 3rd cold crappy pizza. we usually use other pizza shops in the area and will again. I figured as a gesture of giving poor service they would just leave the 3rd pizza, we were charged. It isn't the 10 bucks for the pizza that mattered, it was the lack of service and poor quality and less than quality people working the phones. This is the first bad review I have ever given anyone. Famous used to be so good years ago, since the new owners I've had too many bad experiences with carelessly made food. Last month I got chicken piccata, when I got it there was Marsala wine sauce, wild mushrooms and grilled chicken fingers in it. To me it looked and tasted like a cheap chicken Marsala, not piccata. Well management fought me on it when I called and they told me it actually was piccata they just forgot to add the capers and I could come back and get them if I wanted, I was livid. I drove back, showed them, and demanded my money back. I tried giving them one more shot tonight hoping they had smartened up. Nope, I ordered chili cheese fries.. They delivered them to me with cheese that looked like pizza cheese and a bunch of beans.. No chili. Also ordered the steak tips, med-rare.. Came well done and taste terrible. The rice pilaf I swear to god tasted like mildew or mold. I'm really upset. I just spent 30$ hoping for a good meal and nothing is even edible at this point. I'm not even going to waste my energy returning it because it's my own fault for going back after the first time. I'll take this as a lesson learned. I know it's a pizza restaraunt but if you can't make the other entrees on the menu then take them off. read more

i have just recieved the most outrageous customer service from this restaurant. i plan to write a review on every site i possibly can and share with everyone i know so that no one else has to deal with this. i ordered a steak tip dinner and a meatless sub for delivery, pretty simple. i waited an hour and 15 minutes for delivery and when i recieved the order not only was the steak meal cold but they neglected to even send the sub. when i called to ask them what had happened they put me on hold and then said the kitchen remembered making the sub so they would need to check with driver to see if he had it. they hung up and did not call me back, i gave them 10 minutes and called asking what happened, they informed me that they were just sending the sub out now....1.5 hours after i ordered. i told them that was ridiculous and that i wanted a refund, i did not recieve my order and what i did recieve was inedible. the "manager" got on the phone and informed me that all he could do was give me a $10 credit toward my next order!!!!!! next order????? i will never order from you again!!! and i will be getting a cash refund from you since i never recieved half my food! unbelievable. they deserve zero stars. read more
