I went to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to have my front tooth surgically removed on June 1, 2024 and have an implant and a graft done so that I would be able to have a crown installed as soon as I healed. Yes he was in my network, insurance covered 1993.00, I paid $2,409.00 for the surgery, this did not include the "flipper" I was to wear while I healed. Yes, this was traumatizing as I feel my smile was one of my greatest features. I had plenty time to research while I healed and felt that Dr. Hernan Quintero was going to be able to restore my smile after a consultation. I read up everything I could find about him online, looked at the photos on his website gallery, looked all over social media, etc. I felt pretty good about my decision. No, I did not go to who my oral surgeon had recommended after meeting Dr. Quintero, he made me feel like he was a he perfect fit and I did not need to go get a 2nd opinion against my husbands wishes either. Did I mention Dr. Quintero was in my network too? He is a prosthodontist, one who is a dentist who specializes in the function and appearance of the teeth and jaws. Primary job- teeth restoration and replacement. So after being cleared by the surgeon who performed the extraction, I had an appointment with Dr. Hernan Quintero at the Brickell office in Downtown Miami on April 22, 2025. I felt confident that Dr. Quintero was going to be able to restore my smile back to its almost original beauty. I mentioned how I had lost my confidence and also avoided conversations while wearing my temporary flipper and then my temporary crown. He assured me that he would help me and make sure I was 100% happy with the results. So the day of my appointment April 22, 2025, I made my first payment with Zelle, that was my first questionable transaction but understood the credit card fees myself as a business owner too. I was promised the paperwork would be submitted to my insurance company. We decided bleaching my teeth was a great idea, of course I know insurance doesn't cover that but like I've mentioned my smile is important. So in the end a total of (5) visits at a total of $3,794.00 with the last payment being the install of the crown day on November 12, 2025. During the install, I mentioned that the tooth appeared longer, he said it was the tooth to the left that was giving it the illusion. I stated that the tooth hit my bottom teeth first. My oral surgeon made sure my temporary did not do this, he stated neither one should hit first, that should clear together and they did. So at the end of the day, my crown that was installed hits my bottom tooth, on occasion it messes with my speech, a large patch of composite was left on the rear of the crown, I was told it would wear down but everyday I felt it with my tongue and it was very rough. So needless to say, I never got my smile back, my husband comments that I don't smile anymore like I used to, I've had to laugh with my family when my speech is affected, but in my heart I cry because $6,000.00 between (2) doctors should've got me my smile back. I regularly followed up with the insurance and what the doctors office submitted didn't go through, when I could get in touch with the office I was reassured they would resubmit. Just to get through to tell them I needed them to fix the composite wad on my crown, I couldn't get through. So I made an appointment online for teeth cleaning and was told Dr. Quintero would not be available to see me, but that was ok, the lady dentist who was there, I don't remember her name was able to grind down the wad of composite. With no progress on submitting my insurance paperwork between April 22- November 12, 2025 to my insurance company, I started stopping in the office to ask either Adriana or the office manager Michelle, I wanted to resolve the matter before the end of the year because we were moving out of state. So yes, here I am June 14, 2026 writing my review that hopefully will help someone else to do their due diligence better than I did so that you are not saving up to get your crown replaced because it's not what you were promised. Maybe ask to have insurance estimate submitted first so you can have an idea what will get covered because my insurance said some of it would be covered depending on how they bill it.

Starting with the booking of the appointment, it's not only quick and easy but I'm reminded via text message a couple of times before the visit to make sure I don't miss it. The place itself is modern, with cutting technology and as spotless as a dental office should be. In general, going to the dentist can be stressful, it's certainly something I'm personally not looking to it but Relax and Smile's folks get the best out of me every single time I'm there. It's a fun experience actually, or better say, they make it fun for me. I have got several procedures done at this place, that includes multiple cleanings (at least 4 so far) and Invisalign and I can't complain at all. One important aspect for me is the financials and they have been clearly layout for me, as well as the treatment options. As for the procedures, everything has been perfect. Dr. Santos has been my dentist since day 1 and she has been great. I have been going through the Invisalign journey since mid last year and Milly, my ortho technician, has made the experience much better than what it could be. I had Invisalign done 15 years ago at a different place and while it was also good, this experience has been unmatchable. I showed up on time for my appointment, waited 30 minutes, and was told I needed X-rays even though I made it clear beforehand that I only wanted a routine cleaning. The X-ray process itself was completely incompetent. I stopped them and declined the X-rays, since it felt like they were just trying to bill extra through insurance. After waiting almost 50 minutes, no dentist ever showed up. Not a single communication from the staff. By far the worst dental visit I've ever had!

On Monday, I checked my Care Credit account (which I thought was fully paid off) and discovered a shocking $13,200 charge from this dental office. Care Credit confirmed it originated here. While it turned out to be an error on someone's end (so thankfully I was not being stolen from), what followed was inexcusable. I reached out immediately, and it took Melissa three days to respond--her explanation was that they were "short-staffed." Instead of showing empathy and helping to resolve the issue, she argued with me over email, insisting that because I wouldn't call, she couldn't assist since Care Credit needed me on the line. I made it clear that I would only communicate by email due to potential legal concerns. Ironically, in her final email, she admitted she had in fact spoken to Care Credit--proving this back-and-forth was completely unnecessary. I mentioned this to Dr. Mara during a follow-up appointment, and she kindly offered a complimentary treatment to address the issue. I scheduled this follow-up on my way out of the office specifically with the manager, Amanda. I also spoke with other staff about having to come back for a complimentary treatment. So multiple people in the office were aware that I needed to return for the treatment at no cost. Last week, I spoke to Amanda again, only to learn that Dr. Mara is no longer with the practice--a disappointment, but what made it worse was Amanda's response. Despite this being well within the standard warranty period, the clinic refused to correct it free of charge and insisted on billing my insurance instead, which forces me to use my deductible. I requested a written statement explaining their decision, but they did not provide one. Previously, the office recommended several other fillings. After getting second opinions from other dentists, I now question whether those were really necessary, especially since the clinic routinely told me I had "new cavities" after every cleaning. I originally went there because other clinics push deep cleaning instead of regular cleaning covered by insurance, but it has become clear that they may be misleading patients in other ways. Overall, my experience has been very disappointing, and I cannot recommend this clinic. I advise caution if you are considering treatment here.
