My husband, 15 month old daughter, and I all split the Christmas style breakfast chilaquiles Fratelli style (with green Chile pork). It was absolutely delicious and more than enough for the theee of us. Both the red and green sauce are amazing- it's hard to pick a favorite. The salsa is delicious: very cilantro and lime forward and fresh. I could eat it with a spoon. The service was a bit lackluster, but not enough to remove a star. Unfortunately we had a horrible experience on our visit on May 14th. Multiple issues with the food and service. Wei Ed this place 3 years ago. Today not. When u are seated, u aren't given a spoon. This seems stupid since it is a breakfast place where people drink coffee. Then someone ordered milk with the order which did not come. We also asked for salsa that didn't come. And the place wasn't busy. So coffee got cold waiting for the spoon. We had to get up and ask for the milk and salsa. But most of the food was eaten by the time we received it. Finally pancakes are tasteless and paper thin. The chorizo and eggs aren't chorizo. I eat chorizo routinely. That isn't chorizo. I am certain that it is eggs with regular sausage with Chili powder added.. I use chili powder and know its taste. So if u want fake Mexican food with bad service, then go there. Omg the food here is soooo good. I've been several years ago and I remember loving it just as much. The service was super quick and our server was really nice and friendly. You can tell they actually like their job. Definitely worth the wait. The only complaint is that my mimosa bubbled up like soap suds and tasted soapy. She gladly brought me another one to replace it, but then when I poured the tiniest bit of orange juice into the glass of champagne it bubbled up so fast and all over the table and food so my food was sitting in a massive puddle of mimosa lol. Not sure if that was user error or not, but I feel like 2 bad mimosa experiences in one sitting can't be all me haha. While reading various blogs and articles with "best of" lists MartAnne's kept showing up as a highly recommended breakfast spot in Flagstaff. We were only going to be in town long enough to have one breakfast so our expectations for MartAnne's were high on a cold snowy morning in February and it delivered. Although the parking lot was full when we arrived, paid street parking was easy to find just a block away. We were seated promptly though I can't say the same for parties that arrived after us, the place filled up fast! The service we received from the young servers was super efficient. The employees here are no nonsense hustlers. Our food came out very quickly and pipping hot may I add! The portions are quite generous. Our plates were colorful and delicious! Flagstaff was a cute cool town to visit and we knew we had to come here based off reviews, Reddit threads etc about the infamous Martannes. We'd be doing vacation wrong if we didn't, right? The wait was only 40 minutes which allowed us to wander around town. We were seated and severed promptly. I got a martannes burrito and added chorizo! Not my usual dish but it was very good! Warning the servings are MASSIVE beyond belief. This was 3 meals for me in 1 (partially because I have a hard time eating Mexican in general. Just doesn't taste good to me) but I can recognize good food when I see it. Despite it not being my kind of meal it was delicious and filling. I would suggest splitting a plate between two adults (less expense less waste!). Even my Over eater of a bf couldn't finish his plate and that's saying a lot .... seriously split a dish if you can. No contrition from the server whatsoever. There's a tall guy server there who is so amazing I wanted to tip HIM just because of his massive hustle. My husband and I stopped here on our way to Taos. When we got ourselves together to start our 2nd day of traveling, we found this place and had a wonderful breakfast. It was snowing and cold outside, but warm and friendly inside. I had Jerry El Mujeriego with the eggs scrambled. The pork green chili with, eggs, hash browns, and cheese enchilada was the perfect bite. It made me so happy. This was the best green chili we had in either Taos or Flagstaff this trip! My husband had the Chilaquilies. He likes to use crunchy chips in his, but he still liked these. Furthermore, their flour tortillas are out of this world. They may be the best we have ever had. On our second visit I had the same thing, but my husband had the Juevos Rancheros. He loved them. The restaurant has a very fun, comfortable interior and is extremely clean. I was very fond of the Day of the Dead portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Most of the artwork seemed to be for sale. The service was excellent and it was accessible for me. I have mobility issues. If you do have accessibility issues, you may have trouble parking. It was packed both times we went. (We stopped in again on our way home.) The ramp that will take you to the restaurant is on the street side of the parking lot. Keep this in mind when you are parking. The restroom is accessible and fabulously clean. This was our lunch stop on our road trip to the Grand Canyon. We were told we could sit wherever we liked however I didn't realize the hostess/waitress was right behind us with menus in hand waiting for us to decide on a table. We tried to sit away from people but most of the tables against the walls were dirty so we had to sit near the parking lot. I think this upset the waitress for whatever reason because she seemed very annoyed by us the whole time. When we arrived they told us both menus were being offered- however we only had one menu for 3 of us to share and then we each had a full menu. It was overwhelming! So many dishes to choose from and they all sounded good. We got some drinks to start, their margaritas were pretty tasty. I normally go for enchiladas but did a burrito this time around. It was huge and looked delicious when it arrived however I was little let down with the flavor of the beans. They were overpowering and took away from the chicken which on its own was good. I can't recall what my fiancé and brother ordered but they both liked their dishes. I really wanted to like this place, but I was left wanting more. The service wasn't that great- I had to go up to the counter to order chips and salsa and I felt like I was putting the waitress out anytime we ordered something. There is no better breakfast than a Mexican breakfast, and MartAnne's serves really good Mexican breakfasts (leaning more New Mexican than Sonoran-style, which is just fine with us!). Best of all, you can order a Mexican breakfast at lunch time or dinner time if you want. They have a full menu but it is always hard for us to not order their chilaquiles y chorizo. I'll commence with my first impression as I feel it is very important for any restaurant to strive for a genuine, but formulated custom to ensure new customers are happily engaged--I did not receive a warm greeting. Rather, I was waiting watching employees pass me until they were ready. The majority of the servers were either monotone or uninterested. There was a food safety concern I noticed in regards to chemical contamination amongst a food surface. Lastly, I hope it it's not but you can see there appears to be a hair in my chips. The gentleman at the counter actually told us that they prefer not to "roll things into the dining room" and asked us to sit on the right side of the restaurant near the restrooms "Ok" I said not wanting to create a scene but as a result of being off to the side, we were forgotten about. This place came highly recommended, and boy did it impress. Came here for breakfast and once we walked in the hostess told us the wait was over 50 minutes! I then realized that this place must of been a hit, especially seeing groups of people waiting outside in the cold for a table. To describe the amazingness that is MartAnne's, you only need to know one word: CHILAQUILES!! Oh my lawd are they scrumptious! Came here with my wife for breakfast after a night spent in Flag before heading home to the Valley. We both ordered the Christmas-style chilaquiles but she was the smarter of the two of us and got it with shredded beef. Please don't make the same mistake I did in omitting this crucial ingredient! Don't get me wrong, the chilaquiles are awesome by themselves, but the beef brings it to a whole 'nother level. We also ordered a glass of the house-made horchata which was fresh and flavorful. Service was excellent and very patient/warm/friendly despite the fact it was absolutely packed (30-min wait). I had the green and red chilaquiles which apparently is the staple here. whack!!! As someone who goes to Mexico often i get this dish at least 4/6 mornings i'm there and in my opinion this is not so authentic. They were very soggy and the flavor of the sauce was as if it cam me straight from the can and maybe a Tbs of salt more Idk. The beans and rice were cold while the quilas were hot AF, my guess is from simmering in the sauce. We told 2 waitresses that we didn't like the food and you can obviously see by the amount we left on our plate. They didn't offer to exchange my dish for something else or a discount on the bill or nothing. whatever that's what yelp is for right? Lol I paid 33 bucks for 2 plates that we left on the table. Came here on a Friday morning, only had to wait 10 min for a table. The restaurant has a quaint feel and I appreciated all the interesting artwork on the walls. Our server was pleasant and attentive, we didn't wait more than 15 min for our food. I ordered the breakfast chilaquiles with chorizo and a horchata. The portion was beyond generous (the horchata itself was like 30oz!) and everything tasted amazing. My only qualm was that I couldn't really call my dish true chilaquiles, the food feels more American Mexican than authentic in my opinion. I didn't find ANY fried tortillas in my dish (i did get the one soft tortilla on the side), which was surprising but I forgave it bc the red sauce was so good with the beans and eggs.
