I love the ambiance of a diner. This diner can get pretty busy as it's centered in a college town. We opted for a couple of burgers, some quesadillas and the pot roast dinner. The food was tasty ! I did love the 100 different flavor options for the causes and they were blended to perfection. Our server Charlotte was great and attentive as well.

Surprising to walk in on a Friday night and see this place empty. The decor was your classic 50's diner. Pictures of iconic performers from the era adorned the walls. Plenty of checkerboard and chrome accents filled the rest. I had to meltdown patty and I have to admit, the best part of the meal were the Galaxy fries. They were crispy and well seasoned. I'd come back but only for the fries

Great service, and frankly that and the ambience are the only reason this place gets a 3 star. Took 30 minutes longer than the rest of the food to get my milkshake, and the flavors really just blended into vanilla instead of mint and raspberry... I was not impressed by their vegetarian selection, a lot of stuff was either made with meat broth or had bacon hidden in it. I finally settled on the zucchini sticks and they gave me back clearly two different types of fried zucchini-- one was round little medallions and one was long and thin like a mozzarella stick. Two different batters, two different cuts, it really did not look appetizing.

Ah! I love this place! I lived in Flagstaff during middle school (20 years ago) and this was a go-to spot back then for weekend family breakfast and after school fries anf milkshakes with friends. Coming through Flag moving to Phoenix I was so happy to see it's still here! Food has remained the same yummy, greasy diner food, but the prices have definitely gone up. I love the cacophony of celebrity photos on the walls and the vibes are right out of Grease.

The food wasnt really all that great at least the server was nice if I were in Flagstaff I would check out other restaurants. The whole place was just off and mostly empty. The food wasn't all that worth it sad to see a historic route 66 restaurant in this state.

So this place we went hoping for just simple breakfast. The ambience was set like an old diner. The food which is OK. I had an omelette and it was just nothing special. My friend had the waffle which she thought was just OK. The service was good though.

I ordered one of the limited edition holiday meals- beef burgundy - and it was delicious! I didn't expect such a delicious and elevated dish at a diner but I was impressed. They had a lot of options for hot cocoa which I was obsessed with and had to order the French vanilla hot cocoa! I also ordered a root beer and it was a classic old fashioned styled root beer and I couldn't get enough!! The service was really great my server was a champ working all by herself as a server! The diner itself is super old school 1950s diner and it's adorable. Definitely stop here if you're on Route 66 or visiting flagstaff

Dad's heading back down the mountain soon and I'm always sad to see him go. But one thing we have started to do is our traditional good bye breakfast at Galaxy Dinner. This morning I had French toast with eggs and bacon, which dad shared his potatoes with me. And Dad got the corn beef with the toast and eggs. Unfortunately we had to get it changed out since they mix bell peppers with their corn beef, but we got bacon instead and it worked. A great breakfast to get dad down the mountain! And as always we'll be back again! (If you've never seen Galaxy Dinner's neon, highly recommend eating here too, it's so cool!)

Maybe you're an east coast gal like me craving diner food from a greasy spoon in New Jersey? We had a delicious breakfast here. The potatoes alone made me nearly weep. You just don't get potatoes like that everywhere. If you're in Flagstaff or on your way to the Grand Canyon or Sedona stop in!

It's a cute diner and we went here for dinner. Fast service and good food. He got the fish basket and I got the turkey platter. Maddie talked us into getting a milkshake as well. They have 100+ flavors to choose from, he got coffee and I got Orange Colada. The food and the shakes were both delicious. If nothing else, one here and get a milkshake!!!

Does anyone know why this diner closed? I loved going there when I was in Flagstaff! The staff was always very friendly and the waffles were to die for!

Not sure why they closed but they have just reopened, writing this August 9, 2020.

We were seated right away and quickly greeted by our server. We Looked over the menu while he brought us coffee. I asked his opinion between the ham steak (which was featured on diners drive ins and dives) or the hash. He said the hash was more food so I went with that. Wife had the OG Wolfpack and a Yes Chef to drink. Waiter said they were known for their fresh squeezed oj so we had to get one of those. Drink was good, was essentially a screw driver. Oj was good, could tell was fresh squeezed. Hash was good, was a lot of food, couldn't finish it all , came with 2 eggs and a slice of toast Wolfpack was good, it's 2 eggs sandwiched between hash browns. We were intrigued enough that we visited MartAnne's the very next night for dinner. That was on a Tuesday at around 6PM and it wasn't too busy the entire time we were there. House Horchata ($5.99) - This drink comes in a giant 32 oz Ball jar with tons of ice. Per the server it's made with milk and condensed milk, no rice milk at all. It's rich, thick, creamy, sweet, filled with earthy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. There's so much spice included that at some points, there's almost a gritty feeling while drinking. It's perfect for a hot day after hiking. Buckwheat Pancake ala carte ($4.99) - Buckwheat pancakes are something we've never seen before on a diner menu in the past. It seems to be pretty common around Arizona, so we had to give it a try before leaving Flagstaff. This one's pretty big, almost plate sized. It's really moist, fluffy, bouncy, and light with a slight sweetness and a certain earthy flavor. It's moist enough that it sticks to the ceramic plate it's served on. The pancake is somewhat crumbly due to the low gluten content of buckwheat, although I believe they use a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour to give some more stability. It's bluish grey in color with black specks of ground buckwheat throughout. It's dusted with powdered sugar, but it's not a ton, making the pancake not really sweet at all. The pancake comes with a small cup of their cinnamon honey butter. It's not mixed that well, leaving it mostly unhomogenized with streaks of honey and spice through the softened salted butter. Tamale ala carte ($4.99) - MartAnne's offers two types of tamales - the first a red chile beef, and the second a green corn and cheese. We went with the latter, which is a homemade tamale with a somewhat looser, coarsely ground masa shell surrounding an interior of yellow sweet corn kernels, a bouncy and somewhat spongy block of Oaxaca cheese, and a fragrant green chile. There's a slight sweetness throughout and the tamale overall is easy to eat. Chilaquiles, Xmas, Fratelli ($17.99) - This is a monster sized plate of a mishmash of ingredients. There are three things as essentially a base layer. Firstly some Mexican rice that's tender, moist, and fluffy, totally unlike the more common dry and and compact version. My guess is that they skip the initial frying step that helps keeps the starch together. It's quite fragrant and has gives a bit of heat. On top of the rice is a layer of hash browns. The potatoes are tender on the interior, griddled on one side to give a delightful crunch, although there's some acridity that develops. Another third of the plate is covered with chili beans - tender pinto beans that are well salted and seasoned. Then there's the eggs stuffed in between layers of corn tortilla chips, smothered with sauce. I went with the Christmas combination of red and green sauce, followed up by the Fratelli-style pork green chile. The green sauce is fragrant and vegetal, while the red sauce is more smoky. The pork, which is cut into chunks, on top is a bit tough and dry but there's more than enough sauce to make up for that slight demerit. Finally, there's a small mound of I believe jalapeno peppers, cut into small neon-green colored pieces. Some pieces are spicy, some are mild, all have a vegetal pepper taste. I found the food at MartAnne's to be pretty good. It definitely hits the spot after hiking all around the area for most of the day. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Note: MartAnne's charges a 3.5% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu.

If you're planning on breakfast for dinner, you'll need to adjust your expectations. That said, the dinner more than made up for it.
