They have bikes for every age and experience level, as well as helmets, bike locks and maps of the island trails. Customer service is outstanding, the prices very reasonable, and the inventory fairly extensive. We showed up without reservations on a weekday in June and had no trouble finding bikes for our family of 4. A wonderful experience from start to finish!

We rented two electric and two regular pedal bikes -- seamless rental process, good price, great service. They even held our bikes in the shop until we were done eating breakfast nearby. When we returned to retrieve the bikes, Tony made sure we were all set up -- adjusting the seats for each of us, explaining the electric bike controls, and providing a basket and a saddle bag for us to carry our bags. Overall great experience -- we explored the east half of the island, riding to Edgartown and then south to the beach -- the lock was helpful for the beach time, and restaurant visits. We returned the bikes before they closed at 6 pm. no problems. highly recommended. cheers.

I had just had a fender bender in the Stop & Shop parking lot and was shaken up. I told him this and that I just wanted to drop off the bike for two new tires and tubes but he proceeded to lecture me for 20 minutes before he ever started filling out the intake slip. I told him I had run a bike shop of my own selling electric bikes in order to slow down his constant posturing and bragging about his skills, but it set him off. "Electric Bikes aren't bikes! They're glorified scooters and I won't touch them!" He proceeded to insult my intelligence, shamed me for not coming in February, when tuneups were discounted (although I told him I'd just gotten the bike the day before), tried (HARD) to sell me 5 or 6 unneeded items and insisted that I also get a "tune for safety" service. When I asked the price for that he said, I don't know till I get into it. When I asked him to call me with an estimate he said, "I don't do that." I really wanted my new tires, but mostly to get home and deal with my car accident. Every time I opened my mouth he was off on a negative rant, so I just shut up and waited for him to run out of steam. Fortunately another customer came in and I was able to escape. Once home, I read the reviews and all the people with similar experience whose bikes had been held hostage for hundreds of dollars. So I brought my big, pumped, hunk of a husband back to the store and we got the bike back (John hadn't started the work yet). We discovered that he hadn't even written "new tires and tubes" on the slip! He would have delivered the bike without the things I wanted done but with a tune up I hadn't requested. I dodged a bullet. So should you. Many other good shops on the island without being insulted, shamed, and manipulated. If you don't live on MV, ask an islander. He has a bad rep.

The next day, they not only remembered me, but remembered my name and the name of my girlfriend, which I'd only dropped in passing. They were incredibly helpful, threw in some accessories, gave us a little discount (for a reason I can't recall) and sent us on our way, with a promise that if anything should happen - or if we wanted to swap out our Cruisers for a Mountain-Bike-style, we should just swing by, no extra charge. They gave us handlebar baskets, locks, and even helmets if we wanted one. Every day we road down the main drag, we'd see these guys outside with their bikes, greeting people, or inside, taking care of customers, but they'd always smile and wave. GEORGIO was our man, and I'll go to him every time I return to MV. *The rates are great *The staff is exceptional *The location is perfect, especially if you're staying in Vineyard Haven I simply cannot recommend this place enough. THE MOST EXCELLENT THING THEY DID, however, was make arrangements with me to *PICK UP* my bike from the airport. I had walked from the airport to my residence the first night (2.5hr walk) and was determined to bicycle there before my outbound flight. They worked something out, no questions asked, so that I could lock the bike at the airport and they'd grab it after I phoned them. Simply marvelous. Bravo, Fellas!

Just one of many examples of how blatantly rude they were, was when I questioned some of their "rules", one of the employees said directly to me with disgust, "YOU AMERICANS"!! This is Martha's Vineyard but you feel like you're in a third world country when dealing with them. We walked away with a feeling of relief and headed one block to Sun 'n Fun. After swim classes the facilities are always being kept up with. The women's locker rooms can be a little slippery but it doesn't help when people ring out their bathing suit on occasion in the locker area. Swim caps are mandatory in the pool even if you have a young child that isn't going to dunk under water. Bring a fabric one or the front desk sells the plastic ones ( and goggles) . Classes: As many as you would expect from any gym. In the mid afternoon usually there's less classes but there's a room upstairs that is used as a multi purpose room for stretching etc ( the same one for classes) opens up. Spinning on the first floor . In the summer some classes fill up so you need to sign up. Free weights , cardio , machines( upstairs) : a great selection of all the above. A few cable weights, smith machine, stair climber and all the cardio machines you could ever want. The area is also well maintained by vacuuming . A wall of cubbies for storing items instead of the lockers downstairs. ( Yes, there's an elevator). Plenty of personal trainers. Childcare: during the winter there's child watch on certain days for kids under the kindergarten age . There's a after school program and they offer school vacation and early closing from school care. Summer camp fills up incredibly fast as do all the camps. Swim lessons for sign up. Aquila - cafe on the 1st floor with snacks ( high protein options), smoothies , coffee etc . They sell cakes ( make to order) , pies around the holidays. Parking: in the front and right . Additionally there a lot near the ice area as overflow for the Y.
