A friend introduced us to Martin's Chicken & Waffles. We entered and were told to seat ourselves. Our order was taken and we waited a short while for our food to be cooked fresh. Our plates of pork chops, chicken, salads, and sides were served up fairly quickly, and everything was delicious. My husband and our friend both said the pork chops were some of the best they had ever tasted! I enjoyed my chicken fingers, and the honey gold sauce, which reminded me of a hot mustard, was delicious. This was a great spot with good food and friendly service. I've driven past this cute little place so many times and finally tried it with a friend today. I'm mad at myself for not trying it sooner! Oh my gosh the southern cheesy bowl was SO good. Amazingly crispy chicken that is still moist and tender. I got some sauces on the side because I was afraid to dive into the Nashville Hot, but it turned out to be my favorite of the 3 I tried! The waffle was firm but not crunchy. Everything was just A+. 10/10. We were greeted immediately and checked on frequently. They even offered a small complimentary sweet treat as a first timers bonus. We have been to the restaurant to eat and their deep fried burger and their chicken and waffles are fabulous. I've only had chicken and waffles once, in Atlanta. It was not the same. Here, my brain kept going, "This is wrong." But my mouth kept saying, "No no, keep going." Visited this little place for lunch. Had a decent size menu with meat n veg options along with sandwiches and sides. I had their specialty chicken and waffles with the tenders Nashville hot style. It also proved to be the priciest on their menu. The tenders were good and fresh and are offered at only one heat level so beware if you arent too keen on spicy food. The waffle tasted fresh and was crisp and the syrup helped to take spme of the sting away and and sweetness to it all. It was slow the day we went but yet the service was just okay. It started off good but eventually had to wait and keep flagging someone down for a drink refill. In short I would go back to try something else on their menu lnkw that I know what to expect.
