These are totally average pretzels. You can buy the same thing at the grocery store.

I love the pretzels here. I have gone out of my way to order them and have them shipped home. Always a great crunch and always delish!

So I made my way to Torch & Crown Brewing Company to quench my thirst and check out more of the New York brewery scene. SPACE: I was really digging the vibes here. Torch & Crown Brewing Company is marked very subtle projecting sign. When you cross the threshold you are transported to an elevated space with a brick-clad back bar, warm moods, neon undertones, and pops of greenery. It was really inviting. SERVICE: I have to say the servers here really made my visit. They were super friendly and personable. I sat at the bar and they made sure my glass wasn't empty and made great conversation during my visit. SIPS: I love a crushable sour. So after browsing the menu, I knew that I had to give the Blueberry Pancake a whirl. Yum! It was bright, a little sweet, a little sour, and just what I needed. Next up I decided to sip on the Bat Flip, because with a name like "Bat Flip" I just have to know what it's all about. It was refreshing and bright! For those seeking a reprieve from the beer menu, Torch & Crown Brewing Company also offers up a full bar! SUSTENANCE: While I had already eaten before my visit, I took a moment to browse the food menu. Whoa! So many delicious options to sink your teeth into. Torch & Crown Brewing Company was a great way to both wrap up and wind down after my whirl wind day in the Big Apple.

A truly horrible experience:…read more 1) We had to ask the waitress to call the manager because we were going to be charged high dinner prices for lunch, although their website states clearly that there is a lunch menu. Wiienerschnitzel was already expensive at $27 but we were given a menu that charged $36! The manager finally agreed to charge us their website prices. 2) Never have we had such terrible Wienerschnitzel. The menu does not state that its not the real thing- at these prices it should be made of veal. Instead, we found out from the waitress ,at the end, as we were paying that it was pork! It was as hard as rock- almost impossible to cut without heavy sawing action! Not well seasoned- just like cardboard. Then the potato salad was not an Austrian type but just a plain old American potato salad. The best part of the meal was the cold tap water Be forewarned, this is not a place to have an Austrian meal!! To put this al lin perspective, we have been to Vienna dozens of times and have had an incredible number of schnitzels in our lifetime. We are so sad that NY's really good Viennese restaurant, The Schilling, closed some time ago.. Now that was the genuine article, great food at an affordable price!

They were doing tickets for beer and food as well as full bar à la carte. The space is big and wide open communal. Being meat packing / Standard hotel this is no budget friendly menu. The Standard Biergarten sits tucked right under the trestles of the High Line, attached to The Standard hotel, the building that famously straddles the elevated park itself like a bent-open version of the UN building. It's designed to feel like a real German beer hall dropped into the middle of the Meatpacking District: long picnic tables, communal bench seating, steins of German beer on tap, the full Oktoberfest package running twelve months a year. Here's where it fell apart for a group our size: the food came out way too slow, and there just wasn't enough of it circulating for a party that large. By the end we were acting like vultures, or those seagulls from that one animated movie, every plate that hit the table got swarmed on sight. Drinks, on the other hand, were good and came out fast, so at least nobody was thirsty while they waited on food that wasn't coming. Genuine credit where it's due: the amount of open space and seating here is rare for this city, and for a group our size, that space was the whole reason the event worked logistically at all. Ok time overall. Great venue for a big private event on paper, just make sure whoever's running your food service can actually keep pace with the headcount, because ours couldn't.
