I've been to the Verve Coffee Roasters location in the Arts District before, but this was my first time visiting the Melrose shop, and I really liked the atmosphere. It has a cozy, tucked-away feel with plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a great place to relax with a coffee. We ordered a mocha and a latte, and both were solid. They were well balanced and not overly sweet, which I always appreciate since you can actually taste the quality of the espresso. We spent some time enjoying the outdoor seating and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the visit. I've been to the Verve Coffee Roasters in DTLA so was excited to try this WeHo hot spot because I enjoy their coffee. This place is so cute that I've driven by it a million times thinking it was a fancy restaurant - not a cute hidden gem coffee shop! This particular shop is incredibly popular and always full but if you're lucky you'll get a seat in their adorable little outdoor area. They have some belly up counter style seats along the sidewalk and also a side garden with a few tables & chairs, plus some cute cushions on the steps for ground seating. Once again, I'm obsessed with the aesthetics at a Verve location. They really seem to focus on rustic wood vibes inside and incorporating nature in a fun way. I always love their flash nitro cold brew here. It's so smooth and refreshing! I also tried their matcha and loved it. Plus their chocolate chip sea salt cookie was money. This Verve location is on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, and I've mostly visited when beginning or ending a bike ride originating at this cafe. This point is key as this neighborhood can be tricky to park in during peak business hours even though there are several metered spots available in front of the shop and on surrounding streets. I recently visited on a Friday morning and found nearby parking within walking distance, and you could also park at the nearby library and walk if the cafe if circling around for a spot is getting you nowhere. Now, on to the cafe itself! Verve offers a variety of drinks along with pastries for sale, and they even hosted a cookbook popup during my recent visit. I usually get espresso-based drinks or their cold brew, and I've never been disappointed by the drink quality or the time it takes to prepare my beverages. There's ample seating both indoors and outdoors, and I could see why this would be a popular spot for reading or getting work on your laptop done. read more

It's a lovely coffee shop. The food is delicious. I order their tea every time I come here. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the raspberry matcha French toast. The French toast was rich and flavorful. Even my bf who is normally not a fan of matcha, loved it. I loved the breakfast burrito. The salsa that comes with it is delicious. I love how dog friendly this place is! There is street parking (2 hours free) or a paid garage nearby. The line was out the door but don't worry it moves fast. I love the atmosphere of this place. The counter out front is nice for people watching. The patio is luscious and green. The tables inside are comfortable but modern and simplistic. Located just at the cusp of a busy area but there's a lot of street parking and seating here. Seating available out front, inside and even in an outdoor patio. I appreciate how spacious this venue is and how calming the background music was. I ordered the honey lavender latte draft which was exactly how it tasted but as someone with a sweet tooth and not and avid coffee drinker, not my favorite. This is a great coffee shop to stop at for a bite to eat and a delicious drink. We appreciated the quickness and lack of a line compared to other coffee shops in the area. I love that the SoCal Verve's compare well to the Norcal Verve's! The food, drinks, and pastries are just as good. I'd highly recommend the avo toast - insanely fresh avocado with delicious toppings and they don't jip you on the bread. The new matcha drinks are delicious but If you haven't had a bowl of soul, do yourself a favor and get that instead. Was so excited that Verve had reopened. I remember a few years ago this was such a hip, cool place to have coffee. I have a friend visiting from New York and he wanted to try it and as it was open we gave it a go. It still looks the same; it's bright and airy and a great place for working on your laptop. Fun people watching as it's the nice part of Melrose in WeHo, near Maxfield's. I had a few disappointments today, though. It was about 4 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and when I ordered an almond croissant and a muffin, they said they could not heat anything up. They also had a very limited menu as it was the afternoon. So no mascarpone toast or sandwiches. 2 iced teas and 2 baked goods with tip was over $20. I'm not complaining, but I almost would've rather gone to a nearby commercial chain where they could heat up my pastry for me. All the drinks came in sippy cups. The following isn't the restaurant's fault. They have a nice free water dispenser at the end of the counter, and a man came in and washed his hands in the water dispenser, then splashed water all over the counter trying to shake the water off his hands. That sort of grossed me out. Bad manners! But again that's not Verve's fault. Maybe I'm being picky or maybe they just aren't up to speed yet but no option to heat the baked goods was just so odd to me. At the very least I would expect a really nice coffee place like this to be able to heat up a muffin. I know in France you are not supposed to reheat a croissant. It's a faux pas. But I like them warm. The employee at the checkout said that "it's ok they taste good cold". It's still better warm. I must say that the quality of the baked goods are excellent. Super cute patio and a nice buzz of people. There is a lot of metered parking up and down the surrounding streets. Check the signs carefully because sometimes on days like Thursdays, you're not allowed to park or some of them are loading zones during some parts of the day. read more

This place is a fair mix of good and bad. After my experience I'll definitely return but hope that things improve. The good: Service was great from everyone I interacted with. The vibe is fantastic, so many seating options from cushions and tables on the stairs, an outdoor deck to people watch, outdoor patio and indoor seating. The fair: My drink was okay, I ordered a hot mocha and it was just a basic mocha. I don't feel like the menu showcases any unique drinks to this place unless I missed it or there was some special menu not visible. I wouldn't mind getting a coffee here again. The bad: The bathroom was absolutely filthy. Overflowing trash, floor wet with who knows what, dirty toilet, soap dispenser barely working - it was in desperate need of attention. And the music was absurdly loud both inside AND outside. I don't understand why the outside speakers need to be blaring on top of the vehicle and foot traffic.
