This car wash gets the job done, but there are some things to know before you go. *Know Before You Go* -The pay machines are dated and not maintained that well, so I would strongly suggest using cash. -be mindful of the extended cables and vacuum tube when using the equipment, as it can hit your car if you're not careful. When I used my card, it charged me $20 (max charge) even though I did not use all of the allotted time. Since then I use cash each time. I purchase $8-12 worth of time, and it works fine. It's self serve so unfortunately you can not expect any employees to help you out. The actual car washing equipment works well. it cleans the car effectively, and it's relatively efficient if you know how to use it. The cleaning cycle on the machine is pretty straightforward. I like how you can cycle through the various automatic washing tools. I always make sure to bring my own towels and window spray for the finishing touches. There are a lot of negative reviews which are valid complaints. It's not perfect but at the end of the day this carwash gets the job done and I would still recommend it if you prefer to hand wash your vehicle. read more

This place is a rip-off, avoid at all costs, I've been here several times, unfortunately this is the closest and only car wash in the area, I used the coin machine for change and took my money and no coins came out then I decided to use their card machine and it charged my card 2 times and water never came out. I attempted to contact them, but a "out of service" announcement gives me a bad feeling that I may have to deal with some challenges with the owner on obtaining my refund. So YELP states Oh no! What could improve? A few things to consider in your review. 1. Service Requested. All I requested was proper use of the facilities to wash my car.... Well nothing went beyond that point because both of the machines I put my money into didn't deliver. First I tried getting change, because the wash station states NOW ACCEPTING $20 BILLS NO CHANGE GIVEN. I figured I wasn't going to spend the whole $20 so I'd get change. Put a $20 into the quarters machine. Nothing, no quarts, no $20 ZERO. Put a $20 in the wash station same thing. No one is working on site and there is not a contact number posted anywhere. Looked them up online, got a contact number, called a bunch no answer. Moral of the story. If you want to pay cash for zero services and no resolution by all means go to Marv's Carwash. I like coming this car wash because it gets the job done. Some of the equipment hasn't worked before so I would recommend if staff could be there. It does seem a bit neglected and definitely needs to be renovated. So far I have not had any problems. read more

Please beware! I put a $5.00 bill in to get quarters to wash car and nothing came out. I used my last quarters to vacuum the car at least and I put the money in that was required and it still said I was missing .75 cents. I tried to shake the machine and nothing. I've been going to this car wash for years. Last week one of the vacuum machines was stealing customers' money. The vacuum didn't work, so I left a note on it. Today I paid $20 for a car wash in the third bay from Devonshire St. The water pressure was so low in that bay I couldn't even rinse all the soap off my car when time ran out. Another customer was complaining he lost several dollars in the broken vacuum machines. I've been trying to contact the owners of Marv's Car Wash, but no one answers the phone. It is ok for the most part, I have not had the credit card problems some have described. However, the area is not the best, and the car wash itself is frequented by transients. There are also some rude and self entitled people who go here, like this person who was sitting in a wash bay when all of the others were full. She only moved her car out when confronted. read more

I should have read the reviews before going here. The second time I was at this car wash. The soap gun was not working. I went to two other bays and same story. Little or zero foam. All three times the final cost was under $10. The second and third time I was in each bay for less than 3-4 minutes. The charges were under $7. But my credit card was slammed with $12 each time. So a total of $36, and my car was still not completely clean. This is a rip off. I called to report this. Nobody picks up. This is terrible. I need to find another place. read more

Don't come here. First the coin machine ripped me off by shorting me change. Then when I fed the machine a bunch of change for a good long run the water didn't work! Not a drop out of the wand no matter the setting. No employee around but there was another customer in the next stall having exactly the same experience. Wow is all I can say! I've been coming here since 1990 even when Marv and his wife owned it, brought many cars here to wash. A Chatsworth resident and homeowner since 1992. People in this community know me. I've never been approached like this, so rude! Today approx. 9am pst. I rolled in with my 2002 Honda Accord, just thought I'd use a little soap and rinse, empty some trash out of my car like normal. Slid my credit card used the soap brush and rinse $6.50 later got the trash out of my car and proceeded to leave until I noticed a person and looked like his son emptying the machines collecting money etc. and then the older person coming towards my driver side window, so I rolled it down and he says "If you're going to just come and dump your trash only, don't bother coming back" Wow was I appalled, pissed off, disgusted and offended to say the least! No hello, No how was the wash, just an attack. I can understand people in today's world may dump trash on their facility, but there must be another approach. This caused me to throw F Bombs on this guy and Rude expletives, along with letting him know I will never bring my cars or vans here again. He stared my car down suggested I didn't wash it and he can go to the cameras etc. BS on this guy. This guy was completely off base in front of his son/worker, even the other patrons drying off their cars. There were witnesses to his verbal attack and false accusation. Made me have to do this review to alert my neighbors not to support this operation and after reading some reviews this doesn't surprise me one bit. This guy did not ruin my day, cause after I stated I'll never come back he exclaimed "Good" and I proceeded to leave, get my oil changed by Ramzi @ Desoto Auto, picked up my dry cleaning at Chatsworth Cleaners, thanks Anna and grabbed some lunch at the Munch Box, thanks Andy then shared my story that I'll be giving 5 stars to those establishments and never returning to Marv's. This place is a rip-off. System indicated my charge would be $3, yet actually they charged my card $10 and an additional $1 in cash for about the 3 minutes I needed to clean mud off my tires. Probably one of the sketchiest places/car wash business I have ran into. They automatically charged $10.00 for washes when using cards, regardless of time. Several times I have been there and either the pressure gun doesn't work on rinse or blow dryer hose has severe air leakage. I have also experienced their coin exchange machine eats dollar bills with no return button. I have been there at 7am on days to wash my car. Apparently this is the time which the cleaning crew likes to arrive. Nothing like having people walk past you constantly while trying to wash your car. Best part is when they break out the gas powered blowers right after you just washed your car. Blowing shit back all over it. This location has issues with drug trafficking, general crimes and even cars being stolen. Strongly advise avoiding this location. read more

Glad I didn't use my credit card after reading these reviews about the overcharging came here to clean up my dirt bikes after a nice ride at rowher flats got the dirt cleaned up with there water pressure hose. Will keep coming back when I need some high pressured cleaning. read more

This place has been renovated. The renovation is for the better. They take credit cards ... can you believe it?? The machine that controls the nozzle does so many different things: suds, suds for under your engine, suds with wax, etc. It is awesome. My problem is I used a credit card and thought by pushing the stop button I would only be charged for what I used, instead I was billed $10. I started going in 1987 to Marv's, and stopped about 10 years ago. When I went back recently I saw the place has all the same machinery from 1986, except for the bill and debit card TAKER... It took my money, like many other reviews, and didn't start. When I asked the "bouncer" in the mini-office about it, he cursed and shouted like he's heard it a thousand times, and actually threatened me physically while walking twords me. I debated filing a police report it was that alarming. The supposed manager just watched the spectacle. From now on I'll spend a dollar or two more and go to a safer and better maintained self wash. Decided to wash my own car, since I think these self-wash places are kind of fun and ended up spending more money here than I would have at a regular car wash. I'll probably still do it again because, like I said, I get weird joy out of using all the coin-operated machines, but didn't think it was a great deal. While the wash itself costs only $3 for 3 minutes, you'd have to be pretty speedy to make those 3 minutes work for you. I ended up refilling a couple times and my car is a small 2 seater. The vacuum is area is a waste. I can't remember how long I got for $1.50, but definitely not enough to finish getting all of my car. This was disappointing because there's a car wash place by Ubatuba on Reseda that has free unlimited vacuuming privileges when you get a $5 car wash. read more
