Recently went back when my hubby and I were in the neighborhood having dinner across the street. We were so excited as Mary's cookies are always delicious. They had an awesome deal, but 6 and get 2 for free. I got the brookie, snickerdoodle and peanut butter. Hubby got all snickerdoodle. The extras we chose were chocolate chip and the turtle cookie. Holy moly were they all good. We put some in the freezer and they still tasted yummy after defrosting. My son LOVED his turtle. Snickerdoodle is a must try. Can't wait to go back. read more

I was walking on the Monon Trail and decided to stop into Mary Mountain's cookies on the way home to pick up a couple cookies. I had wanted to try this cookie place in Carmel,and I was impressed with the variety of cookies again in the shop. The ambiance is very nice and the cookie display was very impressive with a variety of flavors available to choose from to enjoy. I decided to go with the frosted Oreo cookie and the peanut butter cup dream cookie. The woman was very nice and professional behind the counter, and took care of my order. The cookies were wonderful! The frosted Oreo cookie had a little too much frosting, and not an Oreo taste to it, but it was still delicious. The peanut butter cup dream cookie was a party in my mouth. It tasted incredible and loved every bite I took out of the cookie. This is an excellent cookie place in Carmel and everyone should come experience Mary Mountain's cookies. They are terrific! read more

Mary and her Mountain Cookies are honestly my top 2 cookies that I have ever had! They have a wonderful display and many different cookie/ sweet treat options! I ALWAYS have to get an Oatmeal Scotchie - this is my all-time favorite cookie that they have here. They have a wide selection of wonderfully crafted cookies - from seasonal cookies to your classic Chocolate Chip. Also, if you haven't had their Brookie, then you are missing out! They also have Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches as well as Cookie Sandwiches with Icing in between. Oh my the cookies are huge - and delicious!! There are so many selections. We even took some for our road trip home.

I went into this store because I heard that they have several gluten free cookie options, and they did not disappoint! They are stored in a cooler separate from the other cookies and individually wrapped. I was told that they were delicious as well! They have many normal cookies as well - and they are big. I got a selection to share and most of them were very yummy. (There was one that I didn't prefer.) This is a great place to go to please a crowd of mixed gluten free and not sensibilities. read more

My dog was getting her nails cut next door and I noticed they opened a Mary's Mountain Cookies here in Indy! It's a chain, they have them in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I used to live, and in the Western states. I walked in around 2:00 and 2 girls were waiting in line. I think someone called out from the back they would be right there. When the person came to help the girls, they weren't very friendly, just asked what flavors they wanted etc. I believe it was the owner. I was honestly turned off by the lack of service and excitement for customers coming into a new store. Everything looked great, but I honestly just left without buying anything. Randomly stumbled upon this shop on Main Street Carmel and I was happy to see a dessert shop that wasn't ice cream available! We were the only customers and the woman working was very attentive. I opted for the peanut butter bar cookie and the salted Carmel while my husband has the oatmeal raisin and Oreo cream cookie. The cookies where large and rich in flavor. Some of the icing seems a bit artificially sweet, but they were fine cookies. Because of their size, the cost was rather expensive, but no different than crumble cookies. If you're in the mood for a big cookie, this is the place to get a big cookie. They have your classics: chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, sugar, peanut butter. But they also have some creative creations, like Oreo frosted cookies, cookies with chopped Reece's peanut butter cups on them, and -- my children's favorite -- s'mores cookies. My family loves everything s'mores, and we loved Mary's Mountain's s'mores cookie. It's a chewy chocolate chip cookie with fudge in the center and fudge drizzled on top, and big marshmallows and graham crackers on everything. It looks impressive and it tastes impressive. This Mary's Mountain Cookies location also has a refrigerated case with cookie dough in to-go cups. Cute! I'm not a cookie dough person, but that's a neat thing to have available to people who want that type of thing. Now is the part of my review where I talk about calories and nutrition, so if you're not interested in reading about how many calories are actually in a big cookie ... this is not for you. But for people who check nutrition information and count calories, you should know: Mary's Mountain Cookies lists their nutrition information on their website, which is great. But the calories listed per cookie are per ounce of cookie. Each cookie is around 6 ounces (I weighed them on a food scale!), so whatever calorie information is listed on their website, you will need to multiply that by at least six, per cookie. Just a head's up! It's a little deceiving because they don't let you know how big their cookies are, but they're big and they're 6x bigger than they're letting you know on their website. So basically, if you want to eat one serving of cookie: cut one cookie in half, then cut that half into thirds. That's one serving of cookie. Eating one-sixth of a cookie actually is not a problem, though, because Mary's cookies are very rich and sweet. A little bit goes a long way here. read more

My sweet tooth was raging after dinner on Main Street one night and I stopped in here... first thing I'd address that contributes to a 4 star is how early it closes. WOW! I've been waiting for a new dessert spot on Main Street and boy did this place deliver! They have a huge selection of flavors with some really fun special ones. The cookies were about $4 each so a little pricey, but they're large and very filling. All the cookies were super soft and moist with a lot of flavor. I was excited to try this new cookie shop. The location is great and I thought it would be fun to grab a couple of cookies to take home after a lunch out. First of all, there was a very large selection of cookies. It was difficult to decide which to order. I ordered the almond glaze and the salted caramel chip. The almond glaze cookie was a very thick cake like sugar cookie. It was soft, but I found it rather dry. The almond flavor was subtle. The cookie was not bad, but I would not get it again. I was excited to try the salted Carmel chip, but also found it disappointing. It was also soft, but rather dry and I didn't appreciated enough salt to justify the name salted Carmel. Again, the cookie wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I may have just ordered poorly and maybe I would have had a different experience with a different cookie. I avoided the cookies with a lot of icing because I thought it would be too sweet, but maybe the icing is needed to cut the dry cookie. There were no evident COVID-19 precautions. No employees wore masks, nor were customers required. If all employees are vaccinated which is hopefully the case, I would encourage the business to post a sign that informs customers that all employees are vaccinated or unvaccinated employees will continue to wear masks. It's just unclear. There was also no attempt to keep hair from falling in the cookies. My cookies were bagged and a long hair was in with the cookies. I understand that this can happen, but keeping hair tied back could minimize this. Overall a disappointing experience, but I plan to give it another try with different cookie selections. read more

I stop for cookies here when I'm on my bike rides in the area. I love the cookies here. They have some many different options and the cookies are huge. The folks in the shop are always nice and helpful. My favs are the sea salt caramel and the snickerdoodle. It's a small shop but they have ice cream and ice cream sandwiches as well. I also saw some gluten free options. My only complaint about this place is the packaging of the cookies. They come in plastic bags so if you buy several and don't plan on eating them right then, they are all crumpled up by the time you make it were you are going. They are so good though Im sure some folks don't mind but I'm big on presentation. I've tried twice to bring them home safely for others to try and they were not presentable. I love Mary Mountains Cookies, they're the absolute best thing ever. It's a staple in my friends and I's favorite places. Obviously, $4 for a cookie is pretty expensive, but it's so worth it. I was not a fan of these cookies. I felt that it was like biting into a stick of butter in terms of texture. The flavors were not great either. Also the packaging options were awful. They put the single cookie in a thin plastic bag and my cookie cracked into four pieces as I was holding it walking back to my car - which was a bummer because I bought it to give to my friend for her birthday. I went to try it again and bought an assortment of cookies which they put into one stack all on top of each other into a tall box.
