Very great food, always love going there with my family, always love to see the employees always smiling.

Pretty typical diner. Not great food, but not terrible either. I've been there a few times with my boyfriend, he's enjoyed his meals. The last time I was there, I ordered a ham and cheese omelet. It was not great. First, there were pieces of eggshell in the omelet, which is disgusting because eggshells have tons of bacteria on them. That's why you should crack eggs into a bowl first, so if any shell gets in, you can throw that egg away. However, that also wasn't enough for the 3 star review. The omelet also had very little filling, and it was all in the middle 1/3 of the omelet. I ended up only eating the part with the filling, and leaving the rest. The times that we've been there, the wait staff was great. Not a long wait, and prompt with coffee refills. We'll probably go back there occasionally, but since we just moved here, we're going to explore more places too. read more

I went there for breakfast today and was very disappointed. It was moderately busy. I was seated at the counter. I ordered Eggs Benedict with hash brown. Another customer came in a few minutes later and sat a few seats over from me, placed his order and received it before mine. My waitress checked with the kitchen and they told her they didn't have my ticket...she replaced the order. When my order came out it had home fires and the waitress didn't realize it. I said something to her and she said she would get me the hash browns. Mind you I was sitting directly across from the window that the wait staff talk to kitchen workers through. I heard her ask for the hash browns. I finished the 1/2 of my order then called her over and told her to cancel it. She asked why and told her I was almost done. She asked if I wanted them to go and I told her no. I finished my breakfast and was having my 2nd cup of coffee when she brought me the check. No adjustment was made to my check. I told her to tell the manager I wouldn't be coming back. You would think she would have said something to the manager but no. I will not be going back....3 strikes and your out!!! read more

We eat breakfast or lunch at Maryann's often. The staff is always friendly and the food tastes great and the price is well worth it.

What has happened to this once booming and outstanding local breakfast spot? We have been patrons for many years. The 50's gimmick works, but the food and rising prices...lack of value ...will be the death of this long standing icon of southern NH. There was a time, years back, when I remember getting a "kitchen sink" omlet that was SO SO good, I considered ordering a second one. I'm serious. It was fabulous! Now...well, no where near that. Ridiculously thin sliced canadian bacon, dry, sometines tastless eggs, and forget the potatoes...it's sad really. It's ironic. It is refreshing to eat at a family owned business and not a chain with clearly measured portions and the same old boring stuff. I think it is a great value for the money and will go again. If your looking for the feel of the fifties this is the place for you. The days when canned corned beef, wonder bread and spam where a healthy choice. The food quality is cheap and it shows. I went there last Sunday and the service was terrible, the coffee was weak, and everything was horrible. Food was good, but service was questionable. There were not many customers, yet my waitress refused to make eye contact with me or my guest, showing little interest in our order. I've been frequenting Mary Ann's for a decade, mainly for breakfast. The atmosphere is comfortable, waitresses are friendly and conscientious. I can't help but notice the deliberate "portion control" that Mary Ann's has been pushing of late. I typically get the "Morning Muffin". It's an English muffin with eggs on top, covered with cheese and you get a choice of bacon, sausage or ham. The value is good at $4.99. A couple of years ago it was $3.50. My disappointment, however, is that the dish used to come so loaded with egg ( scrambled) with an English muffin underneath. Two eggs were like getting 3. The last few times I ordered it, it was terribly skimpy, the muffin edges were prevalent and I left there hardly full. Since portion control is the new norm, I can't blame the cook. Mary Ann's has consistently practiced this "portion control" for at least the last year and a half. Mary Ann's, according to their menu history, prides itself on great prices and hefty serving sizes. This is their claim to fame and they have not continued the standard that made them a household name. Additionally, they had bottomless coffee in a large mug. Now the mug is so small, you have to keep chasing the waitresses for the free refills. While I'm not at the point where I want to discontinue my trips there for breakfast, I have certainly had a hankering to try other breakfast spots in the area. Mary Ann's once differentiating factor of offering large portions at a decent value, doesn't really set them apart from their competition anymore. I'm not so strongly devoted as before and will be open to trying other breakfast places where I can leave there feeling satisfied. read more

I have been there occasionally since 2008. I go there because of the 50's design interior, which is special, and only during times when there are no waiting lines. The food is ok (3 stars, I remember it being better in the past), the service is ok (3 stars), bonus star for the interior. read more

I love Maryanns and I have always always said good things about it but it's not the Maryanns I remember anymore :( I still love their homefries, but their pancakes weren't like I remember. And whenever I leave there I am always SO thirsty the rest of the day! It's so weird. I've never felt like that anywhere else. So since moving to Derry people have ranted and raved about this place. People of the town of Derry don't get out much. The food was under seasoned, canned sauce, fake pancakes, tough chicken fried steak, and fake hollandaise. We won't be back till they make real homemade food. read more

Brand new, just opened, the place is not yet running smoothly. Disorganized and slow service and it took a long time for the food to arrive. My waitress seemed very inexperienced. The young girl at the cash register had no idea of customer service, took my $ and handed me the change and then just walked away. No thank you and said absolutely nothing. Needs a good manager to wake everyone up. Otherwise the atmosphere is upbeat and the food was ok. read more

I've given MaryAnn's about 5 tries now, over the past 4 years, and it's just not that great. There are some positive things to say, like the fact that the diner itself is really cute, the music is fun to listen to, the servers are pretty friendly, and I'm all for supporting a local business downtown. But the food, well, it's just not good. The cheese used in the omelettes is a slimy, saucy cheese with an overprocessed taste. Just not good at all. The veggies taste cheap and frozen. The "home fries" are terrible...just some kind of frozen potato. Honestly, I want to like this place, but I don't. I can't see going back here again. read more

Lots of diner decor. Staff in the classic poodle skirts. Very lively and quite busy. I just can't figure out why people would line up for the food. Apart from the atmosphere and good service, the food is horrific! Frozen cubed potatoes for home fries with the worst seasoning I've ever tasted. Inedible! They can't cook an egg over medium to save their life. They're either overcooked or grossly undercooked. The pancakes are spongy and have a very odd flavor. The bacon is cheap and limp with an overpowering liquid smoke flavor. Again inedible! They claim their food is quality and fresh but as a Chef myself most everything I've had is cheap frozen crap. If you must go due to family obligation, much like my reluctant visits, play it safe and order the French Toast ( not the Texas toast). And the French Toast is by no means stellar, it's barely adequate, but it is about the only thing I can stomach their. You might also think the Belgian Waffle would be a safe choice. If you're lucky enough to get a hot one, it's very dense and not at all crisp and airy. You can dress it up all you want and have the best service around, but that's all meaningless if the food sucks. Do yourself a favor and cook breakfast yourself at home. Even if you don't have the best cooking skills you'll still be able to whip up something better than anything you'll find here. read more

O K if you are looking for dessert looking waffles and pancakes, but if you want a real breakfast forget it. Paper thin bacon without any taste, fat home fries without any taste, the sourdough toast, wheat toast and white toast look like they all came out of the same bag. Just a suggestion to the cook, they call it toast because you put it in a toaster and it comes out toast. Coffee was ok, so save your money and leave it at that. read more
