We've been three times. The first time was a bad experience, the second time was great and tonight was awful. When they're on their game, the food is pretty good. Lots of interesting burgers to choose from and very good drinks in the bar - steer clear of the wine, though. Stick to liquor. My wife loves the Roseanne burger and I'll eat any of the burgers (for the most part) and I like the onion rings, usually. Tonight my son and I received burgers burned so badly that they were inedible. He was too shy to say anything and didn't tell me until afterward when I gave him a hard time for only taking a few bites. Our onion rings were also burned. I sent all the rings back and my burger (it came with grilled onions that tasted like they were scraped out from under the grill after sitting there on fire all day). We let the server know we were getting a burger to go for my wife. She asked for it when we ordered ours and said they would wait to cook it. They didn't, it was ice cold by the time we got it and took it to her at her study group for school. I haven't heard if it was burned as well but I'm sure I will hear all about it. They also charged us a penny to do the To-go order (I'm guessing the server just didn't know how to properly enter that). It'll be a while before we go back. This was pretty disappointing. read more

I am always want to explore my backyard. So I came here with my five year old before going to the park. My five year said, "I want to come here a thousand billion times because there cheeseburgers are so good." I am going to agree. I had the bacon cheddar sliders. They were so good that I didn't even notice that one of my sliders was missing bacon. And the best part; SWEET POTATO FRIES they actually know the difference between sweet potatoes and yams! Had friends in from out of town, Mary's is close and figured I would give them a 3rd try. Wish I didn't. Waitress was slow, rude, and inattentive, she spent most of her time gossiping with other patrons who must of been her friends. 10 minutes after ordering beer, it shows up warm. Then another 15 minutes before she takes or order. 30 minutes later we get cold soggy fries, burnt burgers, and overcooked fries pickles. Ugh, i don't know where to start. We just moved to town. My neighbor recommended the burgers here. We went in one afternoon on a Sunday as not much else is open in town. When we were seated outside it was clear they had just gotten through a lunch rush so we were understanding when the server forgot to take our drink or food order and served ANOTHER table who came in 10 minutes after us first. We ordered at the bar as our server apologized, not a big deal. We get our food and immediately notice it doesn't taste right, the mushroom are off , the sausage is off. Figuring it was again because of the rush we didn't complain. We are again forgotten about so we cash out at the register as the server apologizes again. 2 hours later we both get HORRENDOUS food poisoning! I'll spare the readers the gory details but were talking both ends and we immediately try to get ahold of the restaurant to warn them about the mushrooms. One gal tells me the next day all the mushrooms are pre-prepped so to be safe she will toss them. Unfortunately this is after 12 orders have gone out. Those poor souls... The owner is supposed to contact me, she never does. The manager on duty tells me she wont be reporting it to the health authority. That's not the rule honey. Do better. They apologize by giving us a 20 dollar gift card, clearly not understanding that we are NEVER GOING TO RETURN. We didn't even ask for anything in retribution. I'd much rather they refunded our money as most restaurants would have. Go to Nipps for burgers, much cheaper, much better and SAFE!!! read more

Each time my wife & I come here, the food is great, the atmosphere is what you would expect from a bar & grill, the service is tops and the prices are reasonable. Our last trip was with another couple, who had also been here before, who were dying to return. My wife raved about the seafood stuffed avocado while I ordered the small onion rings (which were cooked to a crispy perfection!!) to complement my mushroom swiss burger. They were both great. Mary's has certainly had it's changes... the ORIGINAL Mary's was amazing. When the ownership changed, the food quality tanked and I nearly didn't come back. We've since been back several times and the food quality has come back up.. though it still isn't as good as the original Mary's was. Was really hopeful walking in. Had heard good things about the food and found the atmosphere friendly. Unfortunately that experience only lasted until my butt was halfway into a seat. A server came at me and brusquely demanded to see my ID. I was not settled and had trouble finding my wallet in my oversized purse. I had to briefly take my water bottle out to access it and she informed me, in the same brusque/rude tone, that I needed to get rid of it. I do understand that it is technically illegal for me to bring liquid into a bar, but I feel she could have handled the situation much more politely, perhaps even asked me to dump the water out rather than telling me to get rid of it. And honestly, if she had not bombarded me with the ID demand so quickly I probably would've had my wits about me and she would not have seen my contraband H2O (which I need for chronic dry mouth, thanks very much). We ultimately decided to leave after she left the table, as being on edge and feeling attacked is not how I wanted to start an evening out. The staff at Mary's is some of the best. Food is always delicious and good portions. It's a friendly atmosphere and a place you can take the grandparents for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I usually don't like to post anything negative, but I think this deserves mention. We have heard so many good things about the food at Mary's Bar & Grill, so we thought we would give it a try tonight. We called in an order off of their online menu, when we got there to pick it up the prices were no where near the online pricing. The Aloha Sliders were $4.00 more and the Chicken Strips were $3.75 more, however the extra order of fries were the same as the online price. Hmmmmm..... We did question the waitress, and told her the online prices, she said they had just updated their pricing a few days ago, and we told her they were not updated online. Her answer: "I'm not the manager!" That's all that she said. ‍‍ Needless to say, not only did we pay $7.75 more than stated online, but the food was not at all what we had expected after hearing so many good things. Okay, so I ordered sliders and paid $2 bucks extra for beer batter fries. The only reason I ordered from here was because of the fries. Well the fries I received were most definitely batter fries. After forking out $25 to get three crappy sliders, part of the bacon was close to raw, I find my fries are definitely not battered and we're horribly soggy. I am really upset. Ruined my dinner. Grabbed some take out tonight from Marys bar and grill. I can handle the remodel and the hectic atmosphere it creates. But it shouldnt compromise a little quality control. My daughters corn dog was dropped in the fryer and left to die. Then actually served to us burnt and exploded out the end. The quality of the food is great... But it seems their kitchen staff just doesn't seem to care about what they put on the plate. Maybe it was because it was takeout so they thought since it was going out the door nobody would notice the overcooked patty, small portions and poor excuse for garlic fries. I hope they can improve the portions to better reflect the high end prices and improve quality control, because it will be great to have a "good" burger joint on the west side of town. read more
