I've been coming to Mary for 25 years and have followed her as she moved locations because that's how good she is. Mary has played a part in creating dresses for all of my most important life events from my quinceañera, to my wedding, and most recently, we had the honor of having her bring to life our daughter's baptism gown. I brought pictures in to show her what we had in mind and Mary listened to all of our ideas and requests. She made helpful suggestions and asked if it was alright to include specific details (gorgeous buttons down the back instead of just a zipper, bloomers to match her dress, and a beautiful bow on her cape) to help make the dress even more special-which we happily agreed to. I had my wedding dress done here for my wedding in September 2021. I have to say that Mary and her daughter went above and beyond on my dress. They literally hand cut the pattern I wanted which by the way was a very difficult pattern. They hand sowed so much of my dress. She worked long and late hours. I highly recommend you come here if you want someone that will go beyond your expectations. My pictures don't do it justice to be honest. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE. Please avoid at all costs. This is only getting a 1 star because the is no options for a "0" stars rating. We came here about 2 months prior to my friends wedding and they took our measurements like all places. I've had to rent about 4 tuxedos, with this one 5. So I've had my share of what goes on in the process. We get a call two days prior to the actual wedding date that they are ready. We show up and they hand them to us. They notes with our names and measurements are attached to the suits so we consider they are the pros and know what they are doing. When I get home to try it on its a nightmare. My suit jacket is about 3 sizes too big, my pants are a 38 and I wear a 34 and my white shirt is about 3 sizes too large as well. We show up the next day, and they are telling us it is impossible to get a new tux now, the soonest is the next day. The DAY OF THE WEDDING??! And of course, they blame us!! I take out the measurement receipt and none of the measurements match what they gave us. Most had their zippers down to their knees, my brothers shirt is about to blow some buttons. We look like we have clown suits on. What is worse is the lack of concern or sympathy shown by the shop keeper. Of course, we can't leave the tuxes and we must work with what we have. The unprofessionalism and amateur-like trait of this place scream "NEVER COME BACK". Which of course, I won't and never should you. Mary is the best. She's a great person and a WONDERFUL seamstress. She deserves to have roses delivered to her every day!!! I bought my wedding dress too small and although it was gorgeous, it just. didn't. fit. I found Mary on yelp and she worked out a plan to make it a sweetheart, let it out on the sides, add a corset, and add a crinoline slip to make the trumpet poof. I was picky, I was fussy, I was a crazy bride, but Mary was always patient and always right. She's a miracle worker, and that's why I rave about her to everyone. Best of the best. Take your dress here, or get it made by her! Whenever I visited the store, people were in there for their quince or for prom, or for their bridal gowns. It was BUSY but Mary always did everything on time and was super PATIENT. She knows what she's doing. I loved my dress, and so did everyone else! I wouldn't have been able to wear it if it hadn't been for Mary. I took it to a Russian lady in Brea who said it would be extremely difficult and a sweetheart would be impossible, plus she quoted me about $100.00 more than Mary did. I forgot to tip Mary, but after the honeymoon, I am GOING BACK to give her the well-deserved tip she needs to get from me!!!! WOW!! I am so impressed with this place! My daughter told me last minute she was going to prom and we couldn't find a dress that she loved. She had an idea and a picture of what she really wanted. It was only 1 week away from prom night. We walked in to Mary's bridal shop and spoke with Mary and explained to her the situation and she took on the impossible! When I was younger and more attractive, friends would ask me to be in the wedding parties and such. I've read all the reviews here and I can honestly say we've had the best and such an amazing experience with Mary. My mom's fiance came here to get guayabera's (men's vest) for their wedding for him and the men. He explained to Mary the type of vest and specific color that he wanted and Mary made it her TOP priority to go to every place she can to find it. Not only was she able to find exactly what he wanted, she delivered what she said she was going to get. I am just sad that my my mom's fiance wasn't able to see he, he passed away due to covid and past away by the time of the wedding. Anyhow, for his funeral services we still wanted the men to wear their vests and Mary had them waiting for us. It didn't feel like she did business with us, it felt more like she was family. She was unbelievably genuine and so honest. I would definitely support her business during these hard times. She clearly loves what she does and is truly passionate about her business. read more

Went in for hemming on a sequin dress. As it happens my daughter lost some weight and the dress was too big. They recommended I try exchanging before I altered it. Luckily, I was able to, but that left us less than a week for the hemming. They were super busy but still said they could get it done. It was a bit pricey but as it was sequin I was worried to try a cleaners and they promised to have it ready in time I went ahead with it. I called the morning I was supposed to pick up because I had read some reviews that said they had trouble but she said to come right in. They had to take at least 6 inches off but they managed to do it and maintain the lovely tail and flow of the original design. We could not have been happier. read more

She rushed it and had it ready the next day ...i had a sash altered as well and i told her exactly how i wanted it and when i got there to pick that up it was totally something different. i had no choice but to wear it as so for my wedding then i took it back to get it fixed since it belonged to a friend and to my surprise it was not ready after being their for 2 weeks. Mary did a unbelievably beautiful job and the price was WAY below what I was expecting. She totally empathizes with frazzled brides/expectations and made this lucky gal very, very happy with how the dress turned out. My dress was super complicated with boning throughout (from the corset) and she made it fit very well. Poor thing said her arms were tired from working on my dress because she estimates it weighs at least 25 lbs due to the beading...but her ability to make it work is impressive, and equally with her pricing. This review is way overdue! Do not go to this place! You will regret it! Every time I think about my wedding dress and the fact that they couldnt finish the dress in time for the wedding I become upset. The measurements were off and the look was not what I had asked for. The back of my dress looked like a curtin to say the least. They are the worst of the worst! The saddest part was that all my bridesmaids got their dresses here and it was such a dissapointment. I feel so bad because I recommended this place, really thought they were capable but it turns out they are not competent. Half of the dresses felt apart before we even made it to the reception. Okay, so first off the ladies seemed friendly enough, and I just needed a simple hem at the bottom and to shorten the straps to a bridesmaid dress. When I went in to pick up my dress 5 days later it seemed as if they weren't finished with the dress. I wished they would have just asked me to come back instead making me wait there and rushing through whatever they did in the back. I was the only customer in the shop and one of the ladies in back told the girl in front something to the effect of "tell her we just need to iron the dress" I guess she thought I didn't understand Spanish; however the girl never told me anything and I was just left there waiting... 5 minutes... 10 minutes... 20 minutes... 30 minutes... etc... how long does it take to iron a dress? Sooooooo finally they bring out my dress and ask me if I want it back in the original bag or if I want to try it on? Well, of course I tried it on and the straps were a wreck. They were very sloppy; detail didn't match anymore; and there was threads hanging out everywhere. When I asked her why does it look so ugly she said she was going to "fix" it with the machine. (Why was she trying to give me my dress back in the original bag if she wasn't done with it in the first place? Hmm) So she took my dress to the back and brought it back out in the bag, and the straps were still a mess... at that point I was done. Maybe I should have raised a fuss or demanded the dress be fixed or refused to pay, but to be honest the shop felt like an oven and I was just wanted to be done with them. Besides, how can you demand they fix something they obviously didn't know how to do correctly in the first place? I didn't want to take the chance that they would just mess it up even more, so I left and had to find someone else to fix the damage that was done. When I got home and I tried on the dress again; the straps were actually different lengths! It's as is they hemmed the same side twice and just re-sewed the other side! I just don't understand how they could have done such a careless job. Very disappointed. read more

I have been coming to Carmen since the shop was at their previous location and Mary was still there. Now it's only Carmen and her staff, Mary went for another field of work now... I am a long time customer :) I had gone to another bridal shop nearby which I think closed down already and they were overpriced and did a horrible job! The prices here are reasonable and they always do a good job. The very few times something was not right they altered it again. The ladies are nice and friendly. Some of them know limited English so try to come when her kids are there and can translate, or bring someone bilingual :) but I've seen people here who know no Spanish at all and somehow they communicate with the staff, body language I guess lol. It isn't just a Bridal shop, they make custom made costumes, clothing, alterations and sell nice accessories. Try not to come evenings or weekends it gets super packed. The only con is that sometimes you have to wait forever for your items especially during Winter Formal, Prom, Wedding Season, Homecoming, Halloween. So it is best to come other times in the year lol. But it is worth the wait, I think they do a nice job at fair prices. They prefer you pay cash, but they do take ATM :) Parking on st or in the back and you walk a short way around the block. read more

We complained were told they would fix them but they never did! My dress was oversized way too long and did not fit in any way, we had to pin my dress to prevent it from falling. My husbands tuxedo was just as bad we told them several times the pants didn't fit and they kept saying oh no they fit him perfect. He could have been an add for Jenny Craig's advertising on how much weight it looked like he lost. It wasn't just his tuxedo that didn't fit it was each and every single guy in the wedding. We were promised our dresses and Tuxedos on a Thursday before the wedding we went and nothing was ready! We had to return back on Friday to ill fitting clothes and they had no one to make the alterations! If there was zero stars that's what I would be giving them! Worst experience ever! read more

I had a great experience going to Mary's Bridal. I decided to bring my wedding gown here for alterations after reading reviews on Yelp. My dress turned out beautful and I received numerous compliments. I think I must have had 4-5 fittings, because I was losing weight during fittings. Mary was always patient with me and made her own suggestions which I liked. Pricing was very reasonable. There was a bit of a language barrier but we were able to work through it. Also the place is usually busy, so even if you have an appt., you will still wait a bit. Very happy that I brought my dress here. read more

I am surprised to hear such raving reviews for this Bridal Shop. My cousin ordered her dress and veil MONTHS ago. For the last 2 weeks before the wedding, she'd go in for her fittings expecting that the NEXT time she'd go, her dress would be ready. She didn't get her dress until the NIGHT BEFORE the wedding...and they didn't make her veil. The men in the wedding party received black shirts that were faded, they received the wrong color vests, and at least one pair of pants looked like it had been run over by a car in the parking lot. The fixed the issue at 1am, delivering the correct vests, and veil....12 hours before her ceremony. The flower girls dresses fit ONE WAY at the fittings and the next time didn't fit...I think they ended up mixing up the 3 flower girl dresses...the sashes that went on their dresses should have been more or less the same length since the girls are about the same age and weight....of the 3 sashes, 2 were way to small and the 3rd was way to big....because of their similar builds and waist measurements, swapping them wouldn't help. I don't know if this is an isolated situation or not, but I can tell you that our family will NOT be returning to this Bridal Shop to do business ever again. read more

Due to the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to go to Mary's bridal and have a dress custom made. After quite a few dress fittings, we were satisfied with the outcome of the dress but not thrilled. The one thing that made me upset was that the two other ladies that work for Mary whom only spoke spanish and were very disrespectful. I am trilingual and also speak spanish fluently but I look white. The helpers started talking about me in front of me and in spanish. Not sure if they realized that I spoke spanish but after we got the dress and paid for it, I thanked Mary and apologized for the extra work I had caused her and I also made Mary aware along with the other two rude and disrespectful workers that I did not appreciate the way they were speaking about me in spanish. What happened was a brand new customer came in to come in to get her measurements that day for a dress and was made aware of how many times we were there to get the dress fitted right and if it was up to them they would just tell us to take the dress how it was wether we liked it or not! Not sure if that's how they treat all customers of other than a spanish descent but if that's what they do, would not be giving her my business in the future. I paid what I was asked to pay and as a customer I should have been treated with respect. Mary was very apologetic and I made her aware that the problem I had was with her employees not her. So if you decide to go there and speak spanish. Try just speaking english with them and I can assure you that you will have the same wonderful experience I had...
