Mary's was delicious! Small, traditional restaurant in the center of town. Good price for the food. I was starving from a long day of travel and wanted to try a few things, so I over ordered for myself... but worth it! I got the guacamole, sayulita taco and chicken mole enchiladas. The guacamole was fresh and hit the spot. The sayulita taco has shrimp, mushroom, corn, pepper, cheese and avocado. It was SO good and packed with filling. The mole enchiladas were also delicious and came with 4 enchiladas. Luckily I have a fridge and microwave in my hotel, so my leftovers will not go to waste. Would definitely recommend this for solid, not pretentious food - yum! read more

First meal in Sayulita, and this may be the best taco I have ever had. The Mary's Taco has shrimp, grilled poblano chiles, mushrooms, and avocado to make one of the tastiest tacos in the universe. The fish taco was good too, fresh but fairly standard. Mary's is near the town square. It's a small place with tables on the street and inside. The server was really nice If you come to Sayulita, you have to go to Mary's and have a Mary's Taco. Update: I ended up here a second time because the new place I wanted to try was crowded. Fun atmosphere in the center of town. Ordered the battered fish tacos - the best I've had in MX so far! Average price in Nov 2023 was 40p/taco so the bang for your buck is high. Tables are served standard salsa toppings plus two spicy crema sauces (so so good). One person in our group ordered a margarita which was small but strong. This would be an easy 5/5 if the service was better. Our group of 5 was sat right away and just a bit later a group of 12 came up and our server indicated our table and the next party would be the first available for them. It was all very unlike the rest of Mexican restaurant culture where we typically sit for a few moments after finishing our meal but in this case we felt rushed and like an annoyance and were brought the check before we asked for it (we only sat about 10 minutes after finishing food). The service was unfriendly and the food was, by far, the worst we had in Sayulita (a food heaven). The meat in the tacos (there was scarcely any) was incredibly undercooked and we knew at once that it would make us sick. We mostly picked at the cabbage (which was mostly what the tacos were) and the guacamole. The guacamole was the worst we had during our visit. In short.... The hype is real DO NOT MISS THIS SPOT. Mary's has the best shrimp tacos in Sayulita! The battered shrimp and the grilled shrimp YOU CANT GO WRONG! They have 7 different salsas for you liking and the tacos are amazing. We ordered a battered fish battered shrimp grilled shrimp and Olea. I usually choose the fish over shrimp but the shrimp here is SOO good. The battered shrimp are huge, and the batter has a slightly sweet taste like state fair food which the shrimp compliments so well, the habanero cream and matcha salsas are a spicy lovers dream. The Olea taco is garlic butter grilled shrimp with the most delicious buttery shrimp topped with cabbage chipotle and guac. The patio seating is where it's at, and you might have to share a table if you want to eat right away, but sit down and enjoy! The staff is so friendly and helpful, we asked for extra spicy and they grilled jalapeños for us for chilis toreados. They have a variety of simple tacos and loaded tacos, they're pretty big so 2-3 per person is plenty. Be sure to tip the staff extra, we want this place to be in business forever!! read more

This is THE taco place in town. I recommend Tacos El Ivan as THE place right outside of town....but Mary's....this was our first meal and we went back for lunch a second time.
