It's the type of place that has a 'small town' feel where they won't nickle-and-dime you to hell, right under Midway Airport. I kind of wish someone had told me about this place sooner. After Driving off my dash lights up like a christmas tree. Check Abs, check brakes, power steering, plus a few others. All these lights came on at the same time. This had NEVER happened before and just so happened to start RIGHT after they did the work. I brought it back immediately. Wayne's guy in the garage proceeds to gaslight me and say these lights have NOTHING to do with the work that they did and that it was a computer issue. Lies. These lights have lit up my dash for months. They come and go. Another mechanic verified that this was the result of poor work when changing my brakes and now it is really expensive to fix. And now that the sensor for my abs is messed up, getting other work done on my car triggers more related sensors. Now tmps is going nuts as well. My car had ZERO computer issues and ZERO abs issues before theh did my brakes this last time. They should be responsible for these repairs! But they proved to be dishonest! If you make a mistake, OWN UP TO IT! I can respect that and have been loyal for years. Wayne is great but the guys in the garage really screwed me this time and tried to make it seem like they didn't. For this I will NEVER patronize them again and don't recommend that anyone else do.

Long story short, my truck was parked in my garage, Tony had to be innovative using jumper cables and a jump starter pack simultaneously to get truck started. He took his time loading truck on tow bed and ensured my truck would arrive safely to repair shop. I'm not sure of A-1's history with customer satisfaction but Tony was truly professional, caring and is an asset to A-1 Towing & Recovery.

I declined and offered to push it out with my brother. The driver instead pushed it out himself and later demanded payment, which I again refused. He acted hostile, refused to let me ride with him, and made the experience unpleasant. This was my first tow and the lack of upfront communication, along with the aggressive attitude, makes me confident in saying I'd never recommend this company. Update: After posting this review, the manager called and apologized for the driver's behavior. He explained that charging to move the vehicle so it can be towed is against their policy. He also said they'd reprimand the driver and install dash cams on all their trucks to make keep their drivers accountable. While I appreciate the apology, it came across more like damage control than a genuine effort to understand what went wrong or prevent it from happening again. It felt like pressure to get me to change my review, not true accountability. That said, I'm updating this to two stars because I hope this isn't how the company normally operates. If they follow through on these changes and more customers share positive experiences, they may well deserve a second chance. For now, this is still my experience, so keep it in mind if you're considering their service.

The tow truck driver looked absolutely guilty, angry that I saw the exchange, gave me a dirty look and left. Had to use them again for AAA and the time went from 10 minutes to an hour to two hours. A friend left work to help me out and we got it moving. I will not use these guys or recommend Rocket Towing to anyone ever. Not trustworthy and they keep pushing you out . Waiting is not an option when children are involved.
