Florentine Grinder
Alan L.

Good bread is the foundation of a good Grinder. The Florentine Grinder comes with a generous portion of chicken and is tasty. The store was crowded when I arrived but our order was prepared quickly. There are a few tables if you want to eat there.

Half of an Italian sub with mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and peppers ... toasted. I was so hungry half was eaten before taking a picture.

It's been a while since visiting Marzillis Bakery in Fall River. I first heard about it, many years ago, on a TV show called "Emeril Visits Home." Yes that Emeril. He is from Fall River, MA. . On his visit home one stop was at Marzillis and more or less gave it a BAM. Not being too far from there I decided to give it a try ... and I was hooked. Prices are reasonable and on my list it is in the top three sub shops that I have been too. Trying to stay away from carbs and sodium has limited how often I eat this type of food ... it was well worth the splurge. There is very limited seating ... probably most orders are to go. Old school atmosphere delicious food. Maybe i'll splurge a little more often ... BAM!!!

Corner location.

The sandwich was made to order. Bread is baked in house too. Outstanding. 10 tables to dine in.

Everything! Excellent food & service. I had a small chicken salad grinder. My husband had a hit ham & cheese. They were both yummy.

This is the Italian grinder, l banana peppers. Skimpy cold cuts. Not what it used to be.

I have been coming to this sandwich shop for years. This summer, something is off. The Italian grinder has lost its specialty mixed peppers. There are not enough cold cuts as well.

It had to be 20 years since I had an Italian Grinder, and what better place to have it "getting ready to fly out of providence." What a treat they even wrapped it in Saran Wrap to keep it extra fresh. I can't thank you enough. I only wish Colorado had grinders. Here's to the Polselli's for keeping a good thing going.

Really good Italian sub. I wouldn't waste my time on the pizza. It's a tiny piece w sauce and no cheese.

What a great place! I have been eating Sam's Lebanese pies and Syrian bread since I was a child. I…read morehave not been in a while but I was wanting to have some so I recently went to fulfill the craving. As usual, Sam's Bakery knocked it out of the park. My go to choices are the meat pie and the open faced cheese. I mean how do you go wrong with feta?! It's my favorite cheese and I want it on everything. I also purchase the Syrian/pita bread for my hummus and tabouli. Everything I have ever tried is always good and super fresh. The staff hustles in that store and always serve with a smile no matter how busy they are. The parking is a little difficult and the place is busy so you have to be patient but it's well worth it.

While I've been enjoying Sam's bakery items for decades, today was the first time that I've visited…read morethe location in person. Typically my grandparents or mother make the trek to Fall River to pick up their fresh made bread, spinach and meat pies, but today I volunteered to make the drive there myself. While the building is large, the 'shop area' is small, consisting of an L shaped counter, a few shelves with some pantry staples, and two refrigerated cases with beverages, yogurt, and cheeses. There was a steady stream of foot traffic while I was there, people mostly popping in to get a few pies for lunch or stocking up on bread. The line moved quickly and efficiently and we were in and out in no time at all. Their pricing is reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. We spent just about $100 today, but came home with dozens of spinach and meat pies to share and enough bread to stock our freezer for a few weeks. Definitely worth the drive. Pro tip: order one day ahead for 'party size' spinach and meat pies - a smaller version of their traditional pies - which are perfect for any party or family get together.
