I went to Masala Bites during the week, but customers were pretty steady which was a good sign. I wanted to order Samosas, but they were out due to catering event so I ordered the Fattush Desi style salad. For my meal I ordered Masala's Tandori Assorment and garlic Naan. Everything was delicious, the naan was not charred on the underside and you could actually taste the garlic. The Tandori was flavorful and tender. I will definitely return and try other items on the menu, hopefully next time they Samosas will be available. **This is a must try for Indian food!! read more

The samosas were just ok , and the chicken biryani is as if they mixed basmati rice with curry. It's too 'wet' for my liking. The decor and ambience are nice. Went there last night. It was even more amazing. Honestly I can't even describe it properly. The waitress told us that it was her mom in the kitchen making the food! I knew it tasted different! Stop by yesterday with my nephew to check out this restaurant. I love this place. Food was excellent and flavorful. I ordered the chicken tika with veggies at a spice level of 2. Also had mango lassi too. Service was prompt and attentive and was asked if everything was OK. I didn't have dessert as I was already full of food goodness. This restaurant single-handedly redeemed my opinion of the local dining offerings. I'm in from out of town on a business trip, and have tried a few other nearby restaurants - they were sadly disappointing. Masala Bites had a great ambiance, attentive but not overbearing service, and the food was attractively plated. Not only were the portions very generous (I have more than enough left for tomorrow's lunch), the food was delicious, rich, and flavorful. My only (very minor) qualm is that a spice level "3" was rather mild, so I recommend going up if you prefer it hotter. Most of all, I was impressed by how delicious the garlic naan was! Light and very flavorful. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit. If it were in my hometown, I might have to break up with my favorite Indian restaurant in favor of Masala Bites. The husband and I were looking for something different for a Friday night dinner and decided to visit Masala Bites. We loved the quiet, elegant but casual atmosphere. My order of Amritsari Chicken Tikka was delectable! I'm not a big connoisseur of Indian food so I can't rate it on that scale but the chicken was so tender and moist, the veggies perfectly crisp-tender and everything so delightfully flavorful. Masala Bites has been my daughter and I's favorite restaurant ever since we moved closer to Red Mill Commons a few years ago. We always order 3 orders of their amazing Samosas, one for her, one for me and one to go lol. My daughter always goes with the classic Chicken Curry but I have recently started enjoying their Chicken Makhni (Butter Chicken). The flavors and spices are all throughout the dishes and when paired with the Basmati Rice and Garlic Naan, it is simply a meal that makes your taste buds dance! I really enjoyed my lunch from here. Kudos to them resisting the tendemcy of Indian places (even really good ones) from doing a lunch buffet. I had the chicken tikka masala, which was really spiced well. It was nicely hot, as I'd ordered it. It was served with basmati rice, naan, and a really tasty soup. In an area of the city with very few interesting restaurants, this is a great option. I enjoyed my takeout lunch, but I'd not hesitate to return for dinner if I lived in this area. I would like to also say, it's kind of weird that the waiters don't know what's on the damn menu and spend the entire night talking amongst each other and ignoring customers. We went to this place during our visit to Virginia Beach last week. What a fresh ambience and quite spacious and clean. The service was as favorable as the place and food. All the lady servers were super polite and cordial, although we were the customers who came in when they were just about to close, they made sure we put all our orders in without any hesitation. We ordered the chilli paneer, which was okay but the lamb Patiala was super yummy and the tea was refreshing as well. My kid enjoyed their Gulab Jamun. It was indeed a pleasant surprise to get such a welcoming experience with fresh food at 9:30 pm. A must check out place if you are an Indian cuisine fan. read more

We got our order to go, but the staff was very friendly while we waited for our order. This was a great experience. I love Indian food so much and this place didn't disappoint. I was thoroughly impressed with the taste and quality of the food, the service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. A group of friends and I came on Monday night and to my surprise, the restaurant was rather empty but it was great because the setting made for a super intimate time. We were greeted and seated immediately and upon being seated, the manager gave us lots of suggestions about the food and drinks. My friend was able to sample a few wines and the manager expertly explained the selections. Upon ordering our food, I liked that the menu had lots of options including a vast vegan/vegetarian menu. I got the mango laasi drink which is a mixture of mango and coconut milk and it was amazing. My party and I got a few orders of the various naan bread and they were all fresh and decadent. I also had the samosas and they were very large and really good. I got the traditional, chicken curry with a spiciness level of 3. It was very flavorful and had a little kick. My only disappointment was that the long grain rice tasted a little undercooked with the meal. Other than that, the presentation of the meals was beautiful and the restaurant was super clean, including the ladies room. I liked the decor throughout the establishment as well. read more

Flavorful and delicious food, it's Americanized Indian food but it's still a punch of flavor in your mouth, I'm From nyc and I've tried some authentic and this is pretty close you can tell they hold back on the spice a little bit so locals can easily adopt, u can also have it prepared with more spice if requested, the food is really good, I brought my picky girlfriend that's afraid to Try anything besides Chinese or Mexican and she actually liked it, I know she did cuz she left nothing on her plate and nibbled on my left over at home later that night lol the service is nice and the food is good really worth the trip read more

Decided to try this place for brunch after viewing their website. Loved the decor and ambiance. We were given regular menus. I asked the server if they had brunch menus and was told they don't have brunch anymore *bummer* My friend tried to order a fish dish from the menu we were given and was to they did not have that item. Would have been helpful to give that information upfront. We tried the chaat of the day which was very good, the coconut naan and garlic naan and I had the tandoori assortment. The food was great, service- young guy could've been better. Another gentleman who appeared to be manager came to refill my friends drink. This place has beautiful decor. Food tasted good but the price was not realistic. Very high priced for the portion you get. I have had better Indian food for less close to here. Service was okay. I went off of reviews a though it wasn't awful... it was went the greatest given how slow they were and the wait time for drinks and meals. I will try again. Both, the sample tandoori appetizer and the sampler tandoori came were very dry and came with no sauce. I had to ask out service for some. The bathrooms are at least 90° and very humid. Quite fancy for lunch, almost a but too fancy? Glass topped tables, linen napkins, real silverware and a two course lunch is the way to go. Pick an appetizer and pick a main, then decide what protein (chicken, shrimp, etc) and how hot (mild, medium, etc). I went with the "Chaat of the Day" which was really excellent. A nice spicy (but not hot!) combination of chick peas and, interestingly, pineapple. I've never had pineapple like this before and it was excellent. For the main, I chose a regular curry with chicken and asked that it be hotter than medium but not as hot as hot. It arrived just as ordered. A good portion of chicken pieces in a tomato curry with a big pile of white rice and four corners of naan bread. Absolutely excellent traditional Indian food, right her in Virginia. Who'd a thunk it? In this plaza, some of these places can be hard to find. Malasa Bites backs up to the Panera Bread and is closest to the corner of Nimmo and Upton. read more

Girls weekend. Decided to try this place. Service was super slow and they were not as attentive as some places we have been. And they actually got one of our dishes wrong But omg the food was super delicious. I've never tried Indian food before. There was 7 of us. We all tried something different.
