    Delicious!
    Darien C.

My family and I absolutely LOVE Indian food! So when on vacation in Virginia Beach we searched for a place that could satisfy our craving and Masala Bites popped up on google. Based on all of the highly recommended reviews, we decided to give them a try. Surprisingly, the restaurant was packed for it being a weekday. They had a large party too so I think that didn't really help with the wait times. We were seated right away but after that the service really went downhill. The waitress took a while to come by and get our order, after that she really didn't check in on us at all. It's really the food that saved them from getting a lower rating! My husband and I got their Pavbhaji Spiced Samosa for appetizer and their Chicken Curry with Garlic Naan for our main dish. Everything was delicious! The curry was a tad bit spicy but we did order it medium, so if you like a lot of spice then get it that way! Other than that I'm sure mild would have sufficed. Their samosas were perfectly seasoned and the filling was just the right amount. The garlic naan was the perfect pairing with their curry dish also. The only downside was that the service wasn't very good and the food took quite a while to come out. But I enjoyed the food! Hopefully they can increase their staff so customers aren't waiting for long periods of time. 3 stars for delicious Indian food!

My family and I always stop by Masala Bites every year when we take our annual trip to Virginia Beach. The food, ambiance and service is very good with great tasty varieties on their menu. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Indian restaurant in the VA beach area.

All the food was amazing, it's not too crowded, the service was great. The bhaji could be less fatty. The lamb was succulent. The Raita could be a bit more for the price but everything was quite reasonable especially for dinner prices, and portions were good. The ambiance was great. Chai was a nice touch at the end.

Dinner service starts off slow but staff ahead really nice with quick service. The food was really good, they definitely do not skimp on the proteins (chicken and lamb).

My stepson's birthday was coming up, and when he said he wanted Indian, I knew Masala Bites would be the perfect spot! It's fancy inside and they always give great service! I think the portion is worth the price. They have the best Indian food around in my opinion. 10/10 They have a lot of wine to choose from

Felt very underdressed right when I walked in! Very nice ambiance and set up. Looks hella fancy but I wasn't scolded for my sweat pants attire. Good place for a date night or casual dinner. Food was amazing! A little bit overpriced but worth the money and the dining experience. Live piano was pleasantly in the background but not too overbearing where you couldn't have conversation. Service was great. And I'm pretty sure the owners were walking around checking on everyone as well. Definitely had left overs. If you've never had the nut and dried fruit naan, it's one of my favorites any time I eat Indian.

If you have not ate here yet my only question is, WHY NOT??? Don't walk but run to come here! This was by far the best Indian cuisine I believe I have ever had!!! The flavors was just amazing. Left you wanting another bite before you could even finish the bite you had just taken. The naan was out of this world!! I can't really eat bread. but I had to have a slice and it was worth it!! The freshest and best tasting naan I have ever had!! The entire restaurant is absolutely beautiful and clean!! The restrooms are the cleanest restrooms I have ever been into! Very peaceful and inviting! Our server was amazing and helped us order our food based on the spice level we liked. She was very quick and we waited on nothing! I was so sad I couldn't clean my plate because if I could have ate everything I would have! We will be back here again very soon! I was shocked it wasn't busier for lunch because the food is out of this world!! Can't wait to come and try more items. The butter chicken was phenomenal!!

Food is a bit indifferently made. Given the competition they have in the area, they need to improve their game.

We came here for our pre-Valentine's Day dinner. Our waiter was really nice. He was prompt and he paid attention and was an attentive listener, which was really nice as a server. I got an appetizer or a starter. That was the grilled rustic bread along with the seafood pasta, and my boyfriend got the Civil burger. I forgot the name of the drink, but it was an espresso martini. Everything was delicious and tasted really good and the meal was cooked perfectly! Wish their menu was a bit bigger with a lot more variety. Overall a 5 star place!

I got a blood orange drink that was OK, but I wouldn't get it again. The second drink I got was with Rose and lavender and I would definitely get that again. We love this place. This is our second time going and we will be back!

The staff and even some fellow customers were very accommodating to my friends to help them get seated. Other customers were excited to let my friends know that it is worth the trip. The trip was two+ hours one way. My fried oysters, cheese chive potatoes, asparagus, and crab cake were superb. The cheese samplers were on point. My one friend could not have the nuts and my other friend had some different food allergy that I don't remember- so I had to eat all three samplers because fingers crossed I have no food allergies and I like to minimize food waste as part of being more sustainable and my own culture. I seem to have missed a picture of the Jellyfish Sting drink I had. It was flavorful enough and I liked the rose syrup in particular. The blueberry lemonade cocktail was sweet like I like my drinks. The key lime has a cashew crust that sounds like it compliments the key line well and I had it the last time and loved it. I am not sure if they always use cashew crust. My guess would be yes. Unfortunately one of my friends is allergic to nuts and he could not have it. I believe all the food is made from scratch and it certainly tastes that way. I think the quality prepared seafood and the making from scratch contribute to the limited opening hours of this restaurant. If you are in the area, a must visit if you like seafood. 5/25/26: I forgot to add that I was impressed that they added a mocktail menu and vegan chicken as an option. I think that they should have a vegan seafood option as well being a top notch seafood place in keeping up w the present times for what people would like for options within reason.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

The hot dogs are thick, so your not getting a wimpy hot dog, it's meaty!! Lol. It might have been too much meat for me almost. You definitely get your money's worth!!
