    Tandoori Paneer Roll

Masala Mex absolutely crushed it. We came in hungry and left obsessed. The setup is chill but super clean and well-run. You can tell right away they care about their food and the experience they're giving people. Everyone was really friendly and on top of it. As someone who's worked over a decade in restaurants and hospitality in Vegas, I definitely notice the little things - cleanliness, organization, and whether the staff actually gives a damn. And let me tell you, I was blown away. Every station was spotless, nothing felt chaotic, and they moved with intention. It was refreshing. Now the food. The chicken tikka tacos were fire. Like, full of flavor, saucy in the best way, and the toppings were fresh and balanced. The tandoori paneer wrap (I think that's what it's called) was loaded and wrapped tight, and the seasoned fries were actually seasoned - not just a few grains of salt thrown on top. We tried a few of the sauces too and they were next level. You could dip cardboard in that sauce and I'd still eat it... The whole spot gave me solid late-night street food vibes but with the attention to detail of a legit kitchen. We'll be back - and next time, we're bringing friends.

The butter chicken sauce was so good. That was my favorite item. Nice and creamy.

Amazing amazing food and service. They're so kind and they actually listen to how you want your food to taste. I let them know that I am Sri Lankan and am used to really spicy food, they made sure to cater to what spice preference I wanted. I will for sure be back.

Either way, the food is wholesome, generally rotating selections in some areas and worthy of a carry out. In the valley, there were two popular destinations. Since the Canoga Park location is now closed, this Parthenia location is the only choice. Not in a disappointing way. Over time, I have felt that this location is better, reasonably priced and best for their North Indian items. South Indian choices is another story and need more work. In this regard, the samosas here are different in flavor and taste. I favor their lentil curry varieties, they always hit the spot. Garbanzo beans, Spinach and Shahi Paneer are standard daily offerings. You can also purchase Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and some Sri Lankan groceries here. Service can be scanty, but in general, it is well delivered. Weekends are the best for attention at the fresh hotcase. I enjoy stopping by India Sweets & Spices (any locations: Northridge, Canoga Park, Los Feliz ) for products and Southern Indian Savory Snacks made in-house. All three locations I been to are solid.

The staff were incredibly nice and understanding, and eager to explain what each of the dishes offered and what the popular menu options were. The dishes themselves were amazing, they came out incredibly fresh and in sizable portions for a very good price. I'd never tried this kind of cuisine before, but this food truck has earned itself a loyal customer. I highly recommend the Loaded Momos, they're the perfect blend of spicy and savory. The ones in the butter sauce are also amazing and I couldn't get enough of them. Definitely be sure to try the Chillys, the chicken was incredibly fresh and melted in your mouth. If you're looking for a nice little spot with attentive staff who take care of their customers, this is the place for you. There's at least one table outside where you can sit, but otherwise, you can always just get them to bring the food to your car. Absolutely check this place out and show them your love.

Since it was a group visit, we ended up tasting almost everything on the menu--and every single item impressed us. We started with pani puri, which was fresh, tangy, and full of that classic street-food punch. The chili chicken was crispy and spicy with great flavor, while the hakka noodles were well seasoned and comforting. The jhol momos were rich and flavorful, and the steamed momos were juicy, soft, and perfectly cooked--simple and delicious. One of the biggest highlights was their new addition: Maggi. It was hands down the best--pure nostalgia in a bowl and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave. And for me, the clear winner was the loaded fries--crispy, generously topped, and absolutely addictive. I loved them and would happily go back just for those. Even though it's a food truck, it gives you the perfect feel of enjoying authentic snacks and momos, just like true street food should. The food was fresh, portions were generous, and service was quick and friendly. If you're craving authentic Himalayan flavors, comforting momos, and nostalgic snacks, Himalaya Momos is a must-try. Perfect for a quick lunch, office outing, or anytime street-food craving.

If you want to highlight your taste buds, have you tried Pakistani cuisine? Decades ago, my quest for the best tandoori chicken in the valley, brought me to Red Chili on Parthenia, in Northridge. It has always taken the crown. I recently discovered that they actually have a buffet too, including this tandoori chicken, a d only offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM ($25 plus tax). Things are different here. On the meat side, they had beef nihari, beef haleem, chicken tikka masala, chicken biriyani and tandoori chicken. Last two lived up, amazing. The other 3 were mediocre. Both beef dishes were pasty, already thick and over heated since 11 am. For vegetables, only 3 selections. Chole (garbanzos) was better than the other two, again pasty dishes of potatoes and spinach, that lacked the fresh look and taste. Last two even loosing texture. There were adequate condiments, on the spread. Unique here are the two unlimited selections of freshly cooked naan and puri (Indian buffets give you a choice of none but only one serving). I had 3 puri servings. It was flaky, well layered, soft, easy to eat and melts in your mouth. In a nutshell, finding restaurants in the valley for Pakistani cuisine or at that matter in Los Angeles, is not easy. They are there. OC has a handful that are super. But in the Valley, there is no abundance. So make the journey to Red Chili. At least, just for the biriyani and tandoori chicken.
