There's a fridge on the way to the cashier with plenty of dessert, ice cream, and beverage choices to choose from. The fullness & deliciousness from the food distracted me and had me forget, but will definitely try the Mango Lassi & Rice Pudding on my next trip! The pudding's made with basmati rice so that's what caught my attention. Was greeted by a nice gentleman who provided me with great recommendations. He even checked in on all his customers while we were eating. 10/10 customer service our whole time there. Garlic Naan Served fresh and warm. Not oily, but wasn't dry! Every bite was soft. The garlic was subtle, but perfectly present in every bite. Samosas These were HEAVEN SENT. Idk what kind of seasoning or filling they used - I believe there were potatoes, lentils, veggies? I didn't know what to expect for the filling, but it was sooo good. Let me start off with holy moly this place has so much flavor. I haven't tasted something so good for a long time. Every bite had the best flavor in my mouth. The service was absolutely great. Food came out fast. The environment was peaceful, calm comfortable. There is a lot of parking spots available. I don't know how many times I passed this place because it was so hidden. It's definitely a hidden gem. I had spicy butter chicken. I forgot the other names of the other dishes, but wow. The sauce was nice and creamy perfect to the taste buds. Great spot to try some tasty Indian food. This time, I tried the Mix combo, which consisted of ground beef kabobs, ground chicken kabobs, chicken tandoori and chicken kabob. All of the meat was marinated in yummy Indian spices and when the dish just came out, the meat was juicy tender and very delicious. I had an option of getting it with rice or naan, so I went with freshly baked garlic naan. Delicious low-carb , high protein meal and the portion was big enough to last me an extra meal the next day. The spot has around 6-7 tables and you order at the counter. The decor is one that you could expect from an indian restaurant, with pleasant Indian music hits playing in the background. I've been here few times and have always been extremely satisfied with my meal. All the lamb dishes here are excellent. I haven't eaten one I didn't like. I love the Karahi paneer, it's a touch sweet with a fair amount of cheese cubes. Sometimes I take the leftovers home and add some pork or chicken to savor and extend the flavor. We've been wanting to come to this place and finally got the chance. 10/10 for service, he was extremely helpful, kind, and even gifted us a dessert! The lamb shank was good, a bit salty so definitely need to pair with the huge garlic naan and the rice. The flavor of the paneer tikka masala was good, leaning on the sweeter side. I keep coming back here because the portions are big and the food hits every time. My go-to is the lamb shank it's insanely good, super tender and the curry is packed with flavor. The menu is pretty big so if you're not too familiar with Indian food it might take a minute, but just ask they're always nice and helpful. It can get busy sometimes, but the service still feels welcoming and chill, like you can actually sit and enjoy your meal. If you come here, go for the curry dishes and definitely get naan with it. Simple café interior. They have specials for local students. Service is friendly and fast, you order at the counter and grab your food in the counter it's ready. Usually, it's a little bit toasty in there, but they have fans. I haven't been there for lunch, but it looks like they do have a face set up a few places that I found that have Nihari, which is a delicious spicy meat stew of sorts. Their biryani is solid. We ordered the chicken briyani, chicken tikka masala, channa masala and mixed grill. I personally loved the chicken briyani boneless such a great portion and it was really flavorful. They are located next to Starbucks and there is plenty of parking in this shopping center. They have lots of seating indoors and also have mango Lassi, gulab jaman, rice pudding, rasmalai, kulfi, bottled, canned beverages. Lots of yummy items. -1 star the chicken tikka masala it could be better. Also, the ambience not a big fan of all the fans. I wish they had an actual AC going but they have fans all around. I was really excited to try Halal Biryani Kabob House with the fam, but left hungry. The service was nice, the gentlemen at the counter was kind and well versed in the offerings.The restaurant itself, is clean, and that's a big bonus in my eyes for any restaurant. (Hence the 3 stars) The food itself, was underwhelming. Our favorite item was the warm, chewy, soft naan. The chicken tikka masala tasted like raw tomato sauce, and was served cold. Moreover, the mixed grill was tremendously lacking in flavor. Our favorite and probably only desirable item from the mixed grill was the Bihari beef boti. Everything else lacked flavor, and essence. No masala, no flavor, and everything was either lukewarm, or cold, minus the naan. I literally didn't eat. For any desi, chutney is always a saving grace but somehow they managed to overwhelm the one thing that should be a perfect marriage of flavor for any BBQ item. Sorry Yelpers, I left confused honestly. Maybe one day will give it another go, but I don't see that happening for a long haul. Cheers to good eats xx read more

Came across them at a comedy show. They advertised chicken masala, rice, and roti for 20 bucks. I really wanted roti so I bought from them. Their "roti" was actually a large tortilla and not even warmed up! Literally 5 small pieces of chicken. The rest was sauce and rice. Overly sweet as well. Great experience. My husband & I took our soon to be daughter-in-law from Chicago out to dinner. It was my husband that found this place we took a chance on it and we had a great time. Friendly guy helped us out. We ordered the Chicken Dam Biriyani, Lamb Shank Curry, Mixed Grill which is chicken & beef kabobs, and plain Naan. They even gave us an extra naan at no charge. Oh, and my DIL & I shared a Mango Lassi. Since I can't handle spicy foods, we asked for mild to low spice. They did just that. Very simple and quaint place. You walk in, place your order and grab your drinks from the fridge. The soft drinks are in cans or bottle. They also sell bottled water. The lassi are already pre-made and kept in the fridge as well. You place your order at the register and pick anywhere you want to sit. Their dining area are kept clean. So, the highlight of the night was the Lamb Shank Curry. I highly recommend this. It's a pound of lamb shank and slow cooked in sauce. The lamb was so tender and just fell right off the bone. No lamb "after taste" or smell. Very nice. So glad we were open to try it as it was highly recommended by the nice gentleman that took our order. The Chicken Biriyani was awesome. Generous portions and the Naan was served fresh and ginormous. And let me tell you, THE BEST TANDOORI CHICKEN WE HAVE EVER HAD!!!! That's a big statement and totally worth it. Perfectly seasoned in every bite, juicy and flavored! Cannot recommend it enough! We also had the Lamb shank biryani which will just fall apart with every bite and the biryani itself? Spiced in every angle! So so so good! The photos online looked so delicious so I asked my family for us to go try out something new in the area. We were all very happy and excited once we came in, the air filled with aroma and scent of all of their delicious flavors and spices! The menu is vast and large (literally) so it took us a minute to figure out what we wanted. We got the chicken tikka masala, the beef biriyani, & the beef seekjh kabob plates with an order of the cheese naan. There was a bit of a wait, but that helped us know that the food was freshly made and cooked to order! We enjoyed the ambiance of the TVs playing music videos and chatted casually. As we waited, we smelled more and more delicious scents and got more excited! Everything tasted so delicious, one thing to note is the biriyani builds up in spice so it does get spicy! Also for drinks, there's only cups provided so you need to purchase a water bottle if you only want water as a drink! Halal Biryani Kabob House opened around 3 weeks ago, as the second location in Northridge, after a decade long first stint in Koreatown (according to management). Of course, I walked in with high expectations. On top of that, the cashier kept touting the place and how good the food was, well before I ordered the Shish Kabob plate. This is where it went down hill. The kabob was prepared fresh (see my pictures), put on a long skewer and introduced into a metal tandoori oven. When the meal was ready for collection, the kabob pieces were generous, but disappointingly dry and lacking flavor. I mentioned it when asked how the food was, but nobody cared. The accompanying salad had Italian dressing (in an Indian, Pakistani restaurant). Now, should I go back for their Biriyani (spelling is different on the outside sign) and other customary menu offerings? You know the answer. read more

The delicious scent of Indian food was drifting out the doors of the restaurant-enticing customers to come order their food. The young gentleman at the register was kind and patient. I was there on April 17th to take my son out for his 23rd birthday. I had asked for a combination of lamb and chicken however that was not a choice on the menu. I had a surprise waiting for me when I went to pick up the food as the gentleman had graciously added lamb to my combo. The meats were beautifully arranged on the plate. We each had a tasty mango lassi. My son ordered tikka masala however he started not to feel well so we left not long after I delivered our food to the table. I ordered a garlic naan to go and my son requested a cheese naan. The portion was large enough to feed me Friday night, then my daughter ate some for lunch the next day and then it filled me up Saturday night. It was a little pricey but the portions were large and delicious. It is not the kind of place to take a date for an elegant dinner because it isn't fancy on the inside and the immediate area is about a 6 out of 10.
