You can purchase products they carry but don't have in stock, and then arrange a time to pick it up later once they've been able to order and receive the product at the store, which usually only takes about a week or maybe two. The Japanese hair care technologies offered here are awesome and I'm so glad they're here near Irvine! The prices are also pretty reasonable relative to hair salons these days. They speak English but Japanese is their native language, so if you speak or want to learn Japanese, this is your place! The vibe is super relaxed yet meticulously clean ... and Anna's hair cutting precision is spectacular!! She responds to text messages usually within a day unless it's on an off day like the weekend maybe or Monday. But I love the dedication to customer service and friendly care! Shinobu doesn't do appts past two weeks, so I had to calendar a reminder to check in with her when I was ready to come in. She rents a chair in Sola so she does her own scheduling as well. Total without styling + 20% tip was over $200. I'm sorry I forgot how much it was but it might've been around $180 without tip. I have hair down to my chest but its super layered so that its very thin from at least my shoulder (maybe even the back of my head) to chest. A bit hard to justify the cost when around the corner you can get a head spa at Purelux where they show you your scalp and put you in a full body massage chair while they wash your hair a billion times. I will say tho that Shinobu really puts muscle into that scalp massage def more than Purelux, so if you like that, it might be more worth it. One thing I really liked about her is her positive attitude and good vibes. She is the first hairstylist to recommend I embrace my natural hair. She told me I am gorgeous! I am experimenting and seeing if I can change my hair philosophy. Just let it be, without straightening. But how???? It's halfway through the month and I have gone the whole month all natural. I will say, it has grown and got thicker. This has worked but you have to do something. Wet it? Put product to calm down the frizz? My fam and coworkers are so nice. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Heather. I came to her in a bit of a hair emergency…read moreafter having my hair colored and cut at another salon just three days earlier. I had gone in wanting a soft, dimensional brunette and somehow left with hair that looked almost black indoors, plus a haircut that was super uneven and completely disconnected in the back. I was honestly so upset and had no idea what could realistically be done so soon after fresh color. I was actually coming down to Irvine for the weekend (from the Bay Area) and, in full transparency, I found Heather through Chat(GPT) of all things! After explaining my entire hair situation, Heather was the very first person it pointed me toward. I then checked out her Yelp and IG and saw the beautiful work she does and reached out to make my appt (I told Heather that story during my appointment and she got a kick out of it). From the moment I reached out, she was straightforward with me that this would be a color correction and that she would do her best but couldn't guarantee exactly how far we could take the color safely. I appreciated that immediately because she never overpromised. Then I watched her work and completely understood that Heather is an absolute MASTER at her craft. She is such a perfectionist and pays attention to every little detail, but somehow she also works incredibly efficiently, diligently, and FAST. I kept thinking she was like a human AI for hair hahah. She was constantly assessing, sectioning, placing, checking, adjusting, and moving with so much purpose. There was never a moment where she seemed rushed, yet somehow my entire corrective color AND haircut were finished in around 2.5 hours (she also told me my hair lifted much quicker than expected). And the result... actual magic. She somehow took the heavy, flat, almost-black color and turned it into the most beautiful rich brunette with soft, dimensional ribbons throughout. It still feels dark and like "me," but now it has movement, depth, softness, and LIFE. She understood that I didn't actually want to become dramatically lighter, at least for now. I just wanted the harsh blackness broken up and softened, and she absolutely nailed it. She also completely reshaped the haircut. The uneven, disconnected pieces are gone, the edges look nice and even again, and the layers finally move and blend the way I originally wanted them to. What impressed me most was that she didn't just technically "fix" my hair. She understood why the original result wasn't working for me / my face and translated what I was trying to explain into something infinitely better than I could have expressed myself. She MORE than understood the assignment (bc shes obv a hair genius). I walked out absolutely in love with my hair. The only slight downside is that I live in the Bay Area, because I'm 1000% sure I now have a hairstylist in Irvine and will be making the trip down whenever I need my hair done. Heather (my hair angel), THANK YOU, GORGEOUS!!! I am so incredibly grateful. You took something I was genuinely so disappointed with and turned it into my favorite hair color I've ever had. You are ridiculously talented and truly a master of your craft.
