I have been seeing Rima twice a year for over 15 years. Meeting her changed my life. I live in Northern California. When my sister went down to So Cal for college she found Rima. Long story short, another stylist had ruined my long flowing hair and I needed someone to fix the straightening job. I scheduled a Brazilian Blowout and cut with Rima about a week ago. When I got there with my cut ideas she mentioned she doesn't cut hair but she still trimmed the bottom which I appreciated. She was super professional and sweet and did a great job with the Brazilian blowout. Now, a week later my hair feels a little healthier than before but not smooth and shiny like I had expected but this was my first time having a Brazilian so I may have expected more than what was realistic. I guess I wanted it to look like the before/after pics and save time styling. I still have to blow dry and flat iron it... it's just maybe a little less prone to frizz but still definitely frizzy without product and flat ironing. She said that brazilian blowouts have a cumulative effect and will look much better after several treatments so I'm guessing I may need to have a few more treatments to have the shiny result I was looking for. Rima changed my life!! I actually tried Japanese straightening a few years before I met Rima. The salon charged twice as much as Rima, and they completely messed up my hair! I thought Japanese straightening sucked and didn't work for me. One of my friends was a client of Rima's and couldn't stop raving about her, so I took a leap of faith and tried her. What a HUGE difference!! I used to shyly tie my hair in a ponytail everyday. Occasionally I would blowdry and flat iron, which would take about an hour each time, or shell out around $50 for drybar. But now... it takes about one minute to do my hair in the morning (if that). It's shiny any straight, and I always get a ton of compliments. It's super natural looking, too - people just think this is the way my hair is (but it's not)! I get this done every 6 months, and have been to her about 6 times. I get the Japanese straightening twice a year and do the keratin conditioning in between those treatments. My hair is naturally thick, coarse, unmanageable curly Asian hair and now it's thick, smooth, shiny, straight, manageable hair.
