They overcharged. Two of their three workers were slow and lazy. I kept catching them standing around looking at their phones. I asked for two mattress covers which they agreed to provide but didn't. They claimed more hours than they worked to try to justify the original estimate and not have to return any money. I complained to them but they snubbed me. Not only that, but I was quoted half the price of what it actually cost. And upon arrival I had to have cash when they told me I could have a check. MASHAV RELOCATION was calling me none stop one day 3 to 4 times ( May Zur ) regarding if I found an apartment, once I got my apartment on the 18th of April 2021 and signing of a contract I called MASHAV RELOCATION and spoke with May Zur and gave her my new address. When I spoke with May Zur and asked her when is my stuff coming, she told me " I will let you know by Monday " I waited Monday and on Tuesday I gave them a ring a man picked up and told me " May is sick and I am the boss, and you have to pay me $10,000 ( which I never agreed to that only $8,000 and I paid $425 as a deposit and she told me that I may pay 3 payments in one month I paid $4,000 and $4,000 left, and once I get my whole furniture and " till they finish till the last nail as setting up my furniture, only then you ( me ) pay. Today is May 12th 2021and I still do not have my furniture. They asked me to give them the LAST PAYMENT OF THE REST OF MONEY which is $4,000 And the war began 1 ) They asked me for a money order of $4,000 k, not at any stores but Post Office 2 ) then I must write an email that I will pay $4,000 " which I did " 3 ) then they told me that I have to PAY NOW before even seeing my stuff. 4 ) my sister got involved and offer $4,000 to Ran Zur, he declined 5 ) my Mom got involved and May Zur agreed with the payment of $4,000 by credit card ( my Mom even provided a phone number ) I am taking them to court. read more

I am very pleased with the service I received from Mashav this week. They arrived promptly and immediately set to work. Mine was a one bedroom apartment requiring, for example, disassembly and reassembly of my bed and my sofa, wrapping and protecting an 65" and 46" flatscreen TV, and moving of a super heavy armoire. Loading was done by three guys in two hours. Delivery took about the same amount of time. Boxes were labeled by room, and all were placed where indicated. The total time estimate was accurate, and so the charges were as expected. Nothing was lost or broken. I recommend Mashav without reservation. read more

If you don't have time to read the below, please see the bottom line upfront: Between my husband and I, who are both officers in the U.S. Military, we have moved 14 times in the past 15 years, and **this move through Mashav Relocation was by far the worst, most unprofessional move we have ever experienced.** Based on our experience, we strongly recommend you DO NOT use Mashav Relocation for your move. Their staff was inexperienced and unprofessional, and they ended up charging us an excessive amount more than originally quoted despite their incompetence being the cause of any additional charges. Additionally, when we filed a claim totaling $1500.00 requesting reimbursement for the damage they caused to our home and our belongings, they offered us $15 (+ $50 "in good faith") and implied we were lying in our claim. We are filing these reviews to hopefully prevent you from making the same mistake we did. I encourage you to read the other reviews that give them 1 star to see that others have dealt with similar issues from Mashav. Our move was scheduled for August 24, 2022, and the movers were supposed to arrive between 0900 and 0930. We chose to pay for movers because this move was a local move not associated with a permanent change of station. Additionally, I was seven (7) months pregnant at the time and my husband and I knew we couldn't handle it on our own. After speaking with Mashav and providing them a description of our two-bedroom apartment and belongings, they quoted the job at 9.5 hours which included a one-hour transit time between Baltimore and Alexandria. To have the movers pack and deliver our belongings, we were quoted at $239/hour. For context, we were moving from a 500-square foot, two-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom single-family home. We experienced many problems during the day, which are detailed below. - No labeling of boxes. After 45 minutes of them packing boxes and moving them out of the apartment, we noticed they hadn't labeled any. When asked about this, the foreman said it's because they "didn't bring a marker." At the end of the day, they said it would be on us to pay for if they had to open the unlabeled boxes to determine where they should go. - Poor and incomplete packing. There was no order to the boxes that were packed, and it took us days to find belongings that had been together in one room. Men's suits that had been hanging in a closet were crushed at the bottom of boxes and fragile picture frames and art were stuffed into boxes with no padding. Additionally, it took us four days of unpacking to realize that they didn't pack an entire cabinet full of belongings, and we had to travel to Baltimore to pack the cabinet ourselves. - Lack of professionalism from movers. The foreman kept making unprofessional comments about the amount of belongings we had despite the details of our belongings having been previously provided to Mashav. One of the movers quit by the end of the day, so they had to get two new movers, who appeared to be under the age of 18 years old. They refused to take a check (according to them, they don't take checks for local moves). The foreman was disrespectful and mocked me after he refused to take another dresser up the stairs. According to the foreman, they had to empty and repack the truck because one of the movers didn't know what he was doing. They constantly had excuses for not completing the work sufficiently or on time. They quoted us at 9.5 hours and charged us for 12 hours, despite the delays coming in part due to their incompetence. Finally, when moving our belongings into the new house, they ripped out the stairway banister and caused several severe gauges on our walls. - Lack of professionalism from company. We submitted a claim within a week of the move date for the physical damage caused to our home (specifically, ripped out banister and scratches and dents in our walls) and our belongings (broken table and crushed clothing); for the additional charges that resulted from their incompetence; and for the time we had to spend going back to Baltimore to get the remainder of our belongings. We provided a detailed description of all of the damage, receipts where appropriate, and pictures. They denied most of our claims and provided no justification for denying those claims (we asked for $1500 for everything, and they offered $65, saying if we accepted, we could take no further action against them). Additionally, they implied we were lying in our claim. We are both officers in the military. I am a practicing attorney. We did not lie about anything and were insulted by the implication. Strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND using them for your move. We will be filing claims with the Better Business Bureau and the Maryland Attorney General's office as well as this Yelp and Google review. read more

Regretfully I have to post this negative review. Buyer beware. I used Mashav Relocation for a local move in July, 2020. I spoke with May, and explained my circumstances, when I need to move out and when I need to move in. I explained that I have a piano, several pieces of exercise equipment, a large poker table, a granite kitchen table and other large pieces of furniture. May was wonderful to deal with and gave me a decent price over the phone. In fact, I spoke with her on several other occasions and she was just as personable. The movers came a little late, however, I got a call ahead of time telling me that they ran into a problem and would be about 30 minutes late. Roger, the main mover came with 2 other men and explained that the 4th mover who was supposed to come was a no-show. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Roger and the other movers. They worked quickly, wrapped every piece of furniture with care and proved to be real professionals who knew what they were doing. I moved on 7/31 and didn't move into my new house until 8/5 so these movers had to move everything and unpack everything on different days. Again, they were wonderful at unpacking as well. Here comes the problem. I was quoted a price of $2800 and the final bill was almost twice as much. I spoke to Moshe and Dan (managers? Owners?) and told them that what they want me to pay is almost twice as much as my quote. No matter what I said, they did not listen and insisted that their price is correct. They took no responsibility for the fact that the quote was obviously too low and that the ultimate amount they wanted me to pay was too high. After multiple phone calls back and forth and after I explained that they can't charge me the price for 4 movers when we only had 3 movers show up, Dan deducted a couple of hundred dollars off the total. Again, he didn't care that my quote was $2800 and the final bill was $5060. If you are looking for a team of professional, courteous and careful movers, Roger and his team are great. But beware that you will be paying top dollar and that whatever your initial quote is, you should expect to pay double. Shame on Moshe and Dan for their lack of transparency and unethical practices. read more

They came a little before time, called me before arriving and the day before to confirm they'd be coming. The move was extremely efficient, professional and prompt - not a minute wasted. All the three wore masks and took full precautions (their office called me before hand to ascertain that we were not testing positive and were taking precautions etc.). Money transactions went smoothly (squareup) with receipt coming in by email right away. They wrapped the furniture etc as needed - out things were very well protected and handled carefully. I recently moved my 1-bedroom apartment and artwork from DC to Santa Fe NM. I couldn't have been more pleased with the service. The company sent a representative (Ran) to my DC apartment who gave me a firm quote and the result was a significant discount over what others were bidding - and a further discount for cash payment. Moreover, he arranged to have a crate built for a large 9'x4' painting, for the very reasonable price of $150 (others were going to charge $500, or just use several mirror boxes. The team at pick up was prompt, creative, polite and efficient. They did a great job wrapping and protecting everything. The team that dropped everything off (Igor) was also communicative and arrived exactly as planned. I had put too much cash in the envelope that I gave my 86 y/o mother to give to him. However they should have protect your house moving from and moving floor more not just the stuff that they carry. That's why i am given 4stars. They really move fast and not wasting time. I don't like giving negative reviews, but I have no choice. I booked them on June 27th because I was moving on July 1st. With such a late booking the price was $783, which I thought was an excellent price. They advised that they would arrive between 2pm-5pm, for me that wasn't a problem due to the fact I still had some minor packing to do. The day of the move arrived and they did not show up until 7pm. Now my belongings were going to a storage unit, which closed at 10pm. I was upset that they arrived so late, at which time I was advised that they were busy that day. The one gentleman told me not to worry that they would be done in time. They finished packing up my belongings at 9pm, I figured that since the storage was in Laurel it wouldn't be a far drive. I was moving from Anne Arundel County. The drive was not more than 30 minutes. Well they arrived at the storage unit at 9:39 pm. That only left about 20 minutes for them to unload my belongings into the storage unit. I was tired so I waited in my vehicle until they were finished. When they finished, which was after 10pm I was pretty upset. When I finally went into the storage after they were finished, my belongings were just thrown in the unit. When I advised the gentleman, he stated they had to hurry because it was 10pm. I told him that you guys showed up late. He said that he would come back and re-pack the unit. I told him that you're professional movers and I shouldn't have to come back. Well after that we were locked inside the property because it was after 10pm. Luckily there was a maintenance person still there, so he let us out. Once outside, the gentleman said he was going to have to calculate for additional time......after his calculation he told me the price was $900. By then I was livid and asked to speak to someone else, by now it's after 11pm. I spoke to a gentleman who I believe was the owner. I told about how my property was just thrown into the unit, and the fact the movers did not show up until 7pm. His excuse was I booked late and they were busy that day. Well if they were that booked, maybe they shouldn't have booked my move. I ended up paying $800, because refused to pay $900 when my property was just thrown into the storage unit. Going forward to a few days later, because they promised to come re-pack the unit. On the day that they arrived two gentleman showed up, I believed they were the owners. I would give 5 stars for my communication with May leading up to our move as it was very easy to confirm all details and May was very responsive to my questions and in regard to sending updated confirmation emails. However, I paid an additional fee for their packing service for all our breakables items. The movers - who I believe were subcontracted out - did an unprofessional job packing which led to multiple items being broken/damaged. Ceramic bowls were stacked together with no packing material in between, items were thrown together in packing paper, etc. When we relayed this back to Mashav to request a refund -- only for the packing fee - we were told to file claim which resulted in us recouping about only half the cost of the packing fee. While the move was completed in the timeframe we were quoted, we were disappointed in this aspect of the job. read more

My move on April 15 was horrible. The people they sent were not professionals. The movers arrived on time, and that was the best part of the move. It was estimated that the move would take a total of 6 hours to complete, but it took them 6 hours just to pack and load the truck. The truck they brought was not a regular moving truck, it was a rental truck that was not large enough to move my household goods, so I had to load several items in my car that could not be placed on the truck. It took them only 1.5 hours to unload the truck, without putting some items back together that they took apart during the move. They marked the boxes with only the room they came out of, and did not mark what was in the boxes. As I tried to reassemble things, parts were missing, or packed in boxes in another room (example: DVD player and subwoofer for entertainment system marked as office, and taken to the second floor). I found items just thrown in boxes with no care taken, and a token piece of wrapping paper on top to make it look good. I had used them before, with great service, recommended them to another friend with so-so service, but after this move, I will never use them again. BTW, they don't mention an extra 5% for using a credit card to pay for the move, so beware of what you are getting. read more

OK so i am sharing my experience with Mashav Re location. I recently moved from Olean (14760) to Sacramento, California. I had to move my whole house stuff and I chose Mashav due to their competitive price. For all reader I want to tell that if your knowledge is limited for move agents always ask these questions 1- The price are lump sum or by cubic feet? they will tell you its by cubic feet and it changes with volume so high volume better price but here is a catch....Even if you measured everything very very precisely, they will tell you that the measurements are not correct and they will add a 1000$ or more and they will tell you now they are fine to move everything. 2- They will initially tell you that the move estimate is around 21 days but guess what (Catch) after they pick up your stuff they will tell you that its 21 days after your desired date :D means if your stuff picked up on 1st and you wanted it on 15th...count 21 days from 15th and you will get your stuff :). They will ask you to pay 50% at the time of pick and once they arrive at your new location, they will ask for money before start unloading (Ransom)? so be ready to give money before even seeing what has arrived and how :D. 3- They do not move by themselves but they hire other companies to move your stuff in my case it was Green line move agents. The claim process is as follows i.e. for every pound you get 60 cents. So if your TV is 800$ and is weight is 20 pounds and its broken during relocation, you will get a claim of 20 x 0.6 that is 12$ only :D.....interesting? the agent who will unload the stuff will not respond to any query related to undelivered items and will ask you to contact Mashav. They only good thing that i can say was a comparatively better price. So before you decide, better ask all question related to pricing, timing, and thoroughly read the quote to avoid any surprise later on which happened in my case..... All the best! read more

I am extremely disappointed in this company. Regretfully, we used Mashav Relocation for our move, our irreplaceable items such as high school year books, artwork collected during international travel, old photos, college diplomas and more were lost in a careless, unprofessional move. TWO very important boxes just disappeared without any explanation. We had the minimum amount of boxes and furniture, so they can't even handle what they consider to be a small move - I would not trust them with your belongings! ---- Our move was a simple one, we had very little furniture (couch, futon, TV, dressers, bar table, shelves) and about 28 standard moving boxes. We were unsure at first if Mashav was the right choice for a cross country move from Northern VA to Los Angeles, CA but after the movers came to pick up our items, we mistakenly felt like our belongings were in good hands. TWO boxes full of items with very high sentimental value including college diplomas, high school yearbooks, art pieces collected during international travel, etc were lost during the move. These are items that are irreplaceable. We were reassured that Mashav Relocation would be fulfilling the entire move and wouldn't outsource the move to another company. They were dishonest and left us dealing with irresponsible and unprofessional workers from Sky Van Lines when our belongings arrived in CA. One of our boxes apparently never made it to the 2nd moving truck when they transferred our items to Sky Van Lines, at this point Mashav should have contacted us to let us know that they had lost the first box. Who knows if they even knew about the missing box? I saw the inventory checklist and there was no check mark next to one of our boxes, I would assume Mashav would review this checklist. A respectable company would have done everything in their power at that moment to retrieve the missing box or at least notify us. When we discovered that a second box was missing, there was also no explanation for it. So now 2 boxes are missing and the best part is the mover's response: "It's not my problem, it's out of my hands." This is where frustration really sets in because it's a direct result of outsourcing the move. They even brought in parts of a table that belonged to someone else, once we told them it wasn't ours he tossed it to the side. I had to bring it outside to make sure it got back on the truck so it would hopefully would be returned to the owner. If you were considering Mashav Relocation, I would recommend looking for someone else. I really wish someone had warned me before using them. No explanation for lost items is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. read more

If you do choose their services there are some positives, but be fully aware of the negatives: Pros: May-(primary sales person for me) helpful, thorough and responsive.... *update- May helped with getting a check for reimbursement of damaged goods quickly Mike/Movers (from starting location): Efficient, fast and friendly. Really well done at this point. Negatives: 3rd Party Movers- May said they use in-house, but, that wasn't the case in my move (contract says 3rd Party Movers are used). "Greenline" were the movers that delivered to the final location. I received broken furniture (dresser, chairs and a few glasses) and a full stand up mirror disappeared entirely. The contract says 46 cents a pound, and for my losses/damage, I received a check for $46. *Advice* Consider buying insurance *Consideration for LONG hauls* Unless you have a full van for moving (presumably), your belongings will be moved at least 3x. From original to storage, storage to final van, and either to another storage or to your end location. *Additional Cos*: moving one floor upstairs is by the stair (8 steps=$75). distance is $75 for 75 ft Hope this helps. read more

I recently completed a long distance move (from DC to TN) with Mashav, and I was very satisfied with their service. The booking process was fairly easy. I compared prices for similar services between Mashav and many of the big named van lines that I had previously moved with. Mashav was not only much cheaper but they had better availability for my moving time frame. I moved in August which is traditionally a very busy month and they were able to get my move on the calendar in the short turnaround time I required. Their price estimate was fairly accurate - while they did not do an in-home estimate, I described my belongings to get the initial quote. They price based on space not on weight, and while I had a few more boxes than I had originally estimated, at pick up, they gave me the same discounted rate per square foot that I had received when I booked. Delivery got complicated... There was a miscommunication between the front office staff and myself on my desired delivery dates and when I called to confirm delivery the week I expected it, they told me the estimated delivery was Sunday - Tuesday of the next week. (My things were on a truck in NC at the time and were slowly making their way across the country.) While delivery on Monday rather than on Thursday or Friday may not be a big deal to many people, it would have greatly impacted my new work and class schedule, and Mike who does the delivery schedule for Mashav moved mountains and without a doubt inconvenienced the company to get my things delivered to me on that Friday. That meant the world to me and spoke volumes about their commitment to the customer. The movers on both ends (pick up and delivery) were top notch - very kind and careful, especially in wrapping my furniture to protect it. On delivery, all of my belongings made it 100% safe and sound - nothing was scratched or broken, which I can't say about some of my previous moves with the big van lines. All in all, Mashav was a great professional moving firm, and it was nice to receive service and attention from a local company where you are a name rather than a number to them. I used Mashav two+ ago to move to the DC-area from Houston. When I was ready to move into the middle of DC in the middle of August (too hot to even ask any friends), I called up Mike again as soon as I figured out where I was moving, which was only about a week before my move date. He said the day and time wouldn't be a problem and emailed me the link to the inventory site so he could give me a quote (much more efficient than previously). The quote was more than reasonable. I ended up paying for an extra hour, but it was more than worth the time I was saved by having my hanging clothes moved in wardbrobe boxes and the moving guys pulling together all of my loose items into a larger box. The best parts: -the moving guys showed up about 20 minutes earlier than expected -the head moving guy double and triple checked that I was OK with the extra hour -Mike followed up with me within a day or two to ensure that I was happy with my move.... And, you know what? I was thrilled. I value efficient, quality, friendly customer service-and not having my time wasted. That's what I got. read more

Awesome company, friendly, very fast and "careful". Moved from 900 sq.ft apartment to same about 20 min away. Start to finish in about 6 hrs nothing broken and everything wrapped carefully. Was gonna bring my own TVs but they wrapped em and packed em before i could say something (my fault) and made it there fine. They stayed within about $100 from the quote for me (this will obviously vary) so no surprises at the end. Huge thanks to Freddie, Fred and Oscar for moving us. Couldn't agree with Jennifer H. more! I wish I had read her review earlier. These guys were just horrible, awful, and rude. And they definitely DO NOT take credit cards - unless you want to pay a b.s. 5% fee! They were adamant about cash only - wonder why? Most shady crooks deal in cash. As if that wasn't enough, here's a list of what I remember off hand: a) The estimate was $1,960 for a cross-country move (DC to San Diego). It ended up being $3,365! WTF?! They totally had us though, because we had already shipped our car and purchased plane tickets for the next day. No time to rent a UHaul or make other plans. b) The contract says "anywhere from 5-21" days, and on Day 22 they showed up - with 1 guy - to move in all our stuff. c) They always answered with "in a couple days" every time I called. If they answered at all, which was about once every 5 e-mails or calls. The worst customer service ever! d) Multiple things broken, and they pay a flat rate of $.60 per pound. So if you have a $1,000 mirror that's a family heirloom, and it only weighs 2 pounds, you get $1.20?! e) They tried charging us $75 for every 8 stairs! So even though we only lived on the 3rd floor, we got charged $300 for f^%$#! steps! You're movers, you climb stairs for a living, deal with it! f) They charged us a misc. "supplies" fee for boxes and tape that they didn't even need to use - we boxed and taped everything! They claimed it was for "safety." g) Since only one guy showed up, I HAD TO HELP MOVE OUR STUFF IN! FOR $3,365 THIS IS RI-FU$#%!-DICULOUS!!! DO NOT USE THESE SHADY MOVERS! The gas and truck rental is cheaper, and you'll have the peace of mind knowing where your things are the entire time. Please beware of this company. Your first interactions with them will be wonderful. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Every single person that I spoke with was so nice. The price was good and they found many discounts for me, without my asking. The day of our move, the contractors came at the perfect time. Great so far. There were 3 people for our 2bdrm apt. Great. Then the lead person began to flirt with me until I reiterated that I was married. He found the fact that I was gay to be fascinating. I guess I was the first one that he ever met. He asked many inappropriate questions including the "do you hate men". I could see how that was relevant to him packing up my apartment...not. Then I heard one of the guys say something in an excited voice (in Spanish). The other two guys hurried into the spare bedroom and I found them looking through some of our books of erotica, which I had purposely stacked near the middle of about 30 books. Not great. Anyway, when they saw me watching them, they all scurried back to work. Ok. They took forever to pack our things, but they did a good job of protecting everything with tons of tape and paper. No complaints there. The problem is they charged us an additional $200+ when I had listed every single item that we have before they got there. We even used less boxes than we ordered, so I was not sure how we suddenly had more stuff...Ok whatever. We paid in full. Now the fun REALLY begins. Our things arrive in TX well after they said we could expect them. There were 2 guys unloading the truck-an tiny older guy and a young guy who said it was his first day. They were supposed to arrive in the morning but they got there around 3:30pm. They did not finish unloading until almost 9pm. They assembled one of the beds wrong and had to redo it and tried to skate out on assembling the rest of the items. There was another client calling and yelling every hour because I guess they were supposed to deliver her things. The older guy said "she will get over it". Wow. My partner had to show them how to put some of our things together and she is not handy at all. Again, they were nice but highly incompetent. We found some smaller items crushed and broken, which we did not file a claim for because they were not very valuable. I also think that some of our things are missing but again, nothing of value. Maybe the irate other client got them and it will make her feel better. Long story short, just say no. We paid a good amount of money for extremely inconvenient service. I know Mashev contracts these jobs out but their name is on the bill and they should manage their staff much better. read more

The movers arrived on time and worked well. My only complaints are that when they arrived it seemed the driver spoke limited English. He did not introduce himself or the helpers. I had no damages or lost/stolen items which is a bonus. read more

I hired Mashav to move me from one location in McLean to another under a very tight time frame and they more than exceeded expectations. They were friendly, careful about the packing and always asked if when they were not absolutely sure about if something was being moved or not. Used these guys to move my husband's office from Alexandria to Vienna, Virginia. I didn't think I would use a company from Maryland to do it, but a friend recommended them and they said over the phone that they can come anywhere I need them to. I was very pleased with their service, the movers were nice and even browed me their tape with no extra charge to seal some extra boxes I didn't think I would use. They made the move very quick and efficient, and nothing was missing or damaged. Glad I took my friend's advice and used Mashav Relocation services. read more

Great moving company they were very professional from the beginning. They came in and did a walkthrough for us gave us an estimate that beat out the other estimates by other moving companies by over a $500.00. The best part was there price did not go up from the time they gave us their quote to the time the delivered or things. Roger and Michael the movers were great they packed everything and had everything in the moving truck in about 3 hours and nothing was lost or broken, I'm talking about a full packing of every thing. Horrible experience with Mashav Relocation! Buyer Beware. This is a shady company. Here is my list of grievances: 1) My final bill was close to double the quote. They intentionally underquote you to get you in the door. 2) When I received my quote, I asked about how the items would be insured and the sales rep told me the items would be covered at their full value. When the movers arrived, they handed me a contract to sign that said they would only pay me 60 cents/pound on the weight of an item. At that point, I had no choice. I had to move out, but it was a bait and switch. 3) Other lies the sales rep told me were: the company is over 40 years old (it's actually more like 2 years), and it is BBB accredited (it is not.) 4) When I received my quote, I was told the ETA would be 10-14 days after move out. After I arrived in my new home, I called to find out that they had held my things for the full two weeks and my items had not even left their facility. Three weeks after my move out and I am still waiting for my things. Everytime I call, they tell me it will be 7 more days. ... a perpetual 7 more days! I am infuriated. read more

These guys are amazing. I hired them to move my mother. I had to change the move date a day before the move date because new landlord things...yada yada. Well being that it's Christmas time-nothing was open. Mike (I think he's the owner) called me very soon after I left a voicemail and assured me that my last minute change was fine. I had also emailed May (who scheduled my move) she also responded. We rescheduled next business day no problem. Very responsive, very communicative, very flexible, and just very kind during a crazy holiday season and last minute changes on a stressful move. The movers were 2 hours later than my scheduled time because the job before had run over (arrived right before 530pm). Roger (lead mover) called me around my original time to explain this and assured me that he was coming. The three man crew was spectacular, super strong, and so quick! These men, Roger, Miguel and Carlos were very friendly and communicative and very receptive to my directions. Very respectful of all the items and walls. Excellent wrapping and even retaped some of my boxes to ensure that they were good. Above all- they had the best attitudes (our move was after one they already did and so it seemed like a long day for everyone). Just overall- the attitudes and kindness and flexibility made a lot of stress disappear. Cost was in the middle of companies I had asked estimates (475$) for three hours- three guys. Cost was well worth the service. I can't thank Mashav enough for an excellent and stress free move. I will be using them again for my move this year. I will be recommending them to everyone. I would give this company a negative number of stars if I could. They will scam you out of your money. The estimate I initially received ended up being twice as much. I was told I had to pay more (over a thousand dollars more) after my furniture was already loaded on the truck. This practice happens to be illegal. When I asked for a justification, I was shown some unmarked notches in the truck as proof that I had more volume. When I finally received my shipment, many pieces of furniture were broken. The only payment they accepted was cash (which, unfortunately, is legal). I complained to the larger mover company I had a contract with but received no response for many months. In the end, Mashav sent me an email saying they value my business but they hadn't done anything wrong. Stay away from these guys. With the stress of the move, I had no energy to sue them. Mashav is now under new management. The new management seems very committed to customer service. In fact, they processed my insurance claim the same I asked for it, even though the old management had been sitting on it for a year. I would definitely give them another chance since my main gripe was their customer service and handling of our claim after the move. read more

What a terrible company. Everything was great to start with, excellent price and the movers who came to my house were very house and packed up all of my belongings. That's when the nightmare began. I was told that Mashav would be handling the move from VA to CA by themselves, with no 3rd party company involved. This was very important to me, as I wanted to know who I was dealing with. Obviously Mashav lied to me, and lost 2 of my boxes along the way. On top of that, I was told that in order for them to deliver my goods, I had to pay an additional $250 because my my neighborhood wouldn't allow the big truck...I live off a major road and large trucks come in and out to move people all the time, so this was a complete lie. The company has failed to respond to my lost items claim form and seems to indicate that it is not their responsiblity. The boxes never made it to the second company, as I saw the check in form for hte switch. Overall, a terribly managed operation. Do not take the chance! read more

My grandfather had to move away from Maryland, so we hired Mashav Relocation. They did the whole move including the packing. Even though it wasn't really a huge move, we still had a bunch of stuff that was very old and fragile. In the end nothing broke and everything came out fine. 5/5 Thanks for the great job! read more
