This place is always packed, and that is a great reason why you should go, the food is amazing! The manhole pancake! You MUST go and have that pancake, my fiancé isn't a big fan of blueberries and he devours it like nothing! The wings (Moonshine BBQ) are so good I can't explain how sweet, but tangy, but. Idk! It's just so good! We had a waitress I think her name was Sarah, she was the best! As busy as they were she was attentive and didn't make us feel like we were a burden, by far this place goes above and beyond! I am a big fan of Mash'd!! Even so much we went there 3 times in one day! Started off there for happy hour drinks (pineapple moonshine!!! YUM!!!) which are pretty good prices, I can't remember all of them but it was like $3 off moonshine drinks and beers were I think $4. Not bad at all. They have a great patio, lots of chairs and tables and attentive service out there too. We left to go eat at Hopdoddy Burgers, but when we got there they told us a 45 minute wait!! No way, I was way too hungry for that! Back to Mash'd we went since we kept watching all the food coming out to everyone else that looked AMAZING! Our meal did not disappoint!! I had the avocado salad and added steak (so light, filling and refreshing and healthy!) and my friend had the BBQ pulled rib sandwich. Very good!! Love how their fries come in a mini fry basket too!! Saw the picture of the olive oil cake on Yelp so I wanted that too but need to run to the Apple Store. So, we cashed out, ran over there and BACK to Mash'd for dessert! Besides, we LOVED our server Melissa so we kept coming back to her section. I ordered the berry moonshine drink to have with the olive oil cake and it was awesome! Not too sweet, just perfect. Tried this place for the first time tonight with my friend. She said the food and service was really good last time she came. Definitely not the case tonight. Worst service I've EVER had! I have never left a $0 dollar tip in my life! Not only did our waiter get one of our orders messed up and then tried to fix it. Even after trying to fix it, the order still came out wrong and my friend was so frustrated that she just decided to pass altogether and left hungry. Not once did this waiter try to make up for it or get a manager and after that didn't visit the table to check on us. We tried to get his attention for the check, but couldn't even get him to come to our table. 20 minutes later he finally comes after we got so frustrated we ended up just putting our cards on the table he didn't say one word to us just grabbed the cards. He spent more time at other table, and I felt like this waiter treated the other tables better than us. I left feeling not only disappointed in the food, but the lack of customer service or any friendly conversation from our waiter. Do not go here it is a waste of money, plenty of better restaurants around to chose from. Best thing about this place was probably the drinks and that's about it. read more

We came here with some friends on a Tuesday night, first time for all of us. Good atmosphere, but not sure I would return. Our group got moonshine drinks, they were pretty good but a little pricey, I believe $10 each, during happy hour i think it's $3 off. We ordered the queso, and honestly it was pretty bland, I realize everyone likes different levels of spiciness but we all agreed that it needed some heat, and flavor. The rest of the items in the menu are pricey as well, two of us got burgers (a plain one and one with some kind of meat sauce ), my husband got the hot dogs, and my friend got the patty melt. My fries were cold, and my burger came out cold, and completely undercooked (middle was completely raw) when I pointed it out to our waitress she said that burgers are cooked medium well, but that she would take it back ( my friends burger was not the slightest pink and she never asked how I wanted my burger cooked to begin with ), she came back and said that manager had looked at it and that it would be taken off my bill. The rest of the food was ok, but not impressive and everybody agreed that for burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches it was a bit overpriced. Ketchup is homemade and was pretty decent. I finally got my food once everybody else was done eating, I took a few bites and it was ok, nothing special. I think this place has potential, we were glad that manager tried to fix the issue instead of just apologizing. read more

Horrible experience. I didn't have a reservation, 45 min wait.. Ok no problem! I don't mind waiting. BUT when the manager Shane starts sitting people by the way they look for his choosing whether they had a reservation or not then that's a problem! That was exactly told to me by the hostess! "The Manager can sit whom ever he wants by his choosing." We'll see who you'll be sitting in a couple of months when you're closed. read more

The wait staff was fabulous and the food was good too. We had 12:00 reservations on Mother's Day. We arrived at 11:50. Of course it was packed. But we ended up having to wait 40 minutes. First time we went here, we requested for an outside table and the host (with a somewhat snobby stuck up attitude) said it was about a 20 minutes wait for outside. We were okay with that and proceeded to the bar area until our table was ready. We noticed several tables outside but figured sections were closed or something. After waiting for over half an hour, we asked the same host walking by if the table was ready yet and he responded that it was almost ready. A few minutes later he came and got us and sat us down at the table outside. As we were trying to decide on what food to order since it was our first time, the waitress overheard us and told us that the kitchen just closed about 10 minutes ago. We said we had been waiting a long time and if we had known that, we would have ate inside where there was no wait. She then acted confused and said she's had several tables available and didn't understand why we were told there was a wait. She was very apologetic and immediately got that manager involved who apologized and provided vouchers for another visit. The second visit was fairly good.. GREAT food, however the service was slow and the drinks were very expensive and did not have ANY alcohol in them. I would expect something more when they claim there's moonshine in the drinks. Only thing I like about this place really is the food and ambiance.. but now I came across an article on the local news about some nasty findings during a recent heath inspection. It was 47 degrees outside and they had the air conditioning on, I couldn't take off my jacket. And I asked to be moved cuz the air was blowing right on me but going to another table didn't help. My husband and I came here on our way out of town; we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and wanted to start our weekend off right. We arrived as soon as they opened and were greeted and seated immediately. Very nice and friendly hostess and waitress. Since it was our first visit, the menu was explained very well. The chicken and biscuits were divine! A delicious mix of flavors that coincided beautifully. The house ketchup was a different twist on the everyday standard. The General Manager, Gary Defibaugh, came out to check on us personally and took very good care of us when we told him it was our anniversary. Savanah, our waitress, made us feel very well taken care of too. We will definitely be back to try their brunch! read more

Myself and a few co-workers came here for dinner and drinks. We tried the fried pepperoni as a starter. We all ordered the Illegal Endeavor. These drinks were way to tart to consume. I have had moonshine drinks before and this has to be the worst mixture. When the server asked how we liked the drinks I explained it was too tart for us to drink. His response was, "oh okay". Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the turkey burger. It was super salty I could barely eat it. Instead of fries I had the K&Q salad. This salad was very bland and the ratio of quinoa to kale was very off. It had way too much quinoa and no apples or pistachios. I was super disappointed in the food and drinks. The server was nice and attentive but didn't really pay attention to what input I gave regarding the drinks. Over all I'm not sure I would give this place a second chance. read more

First we ordered the fried pepperoni and after a mess up they brought us some and they were free and also gave us a dessert so o thought awesome good customer service well my wife had a burger and myself I had the pho, well I took several bites and I told my wife the meat taste a bit off but seeing how it was a bit different pho than I'm used too I gave it a try and ate it mind you that's all I've had all day. So we go to the movies and mid movie my stomach cramps bad but I tough it out. Fantastic. This place is one of my newest favorites. I've had the Bulgogi Tacos and the K&Q salad and they were both absolutely delicious! The people I've dined with tried the Chicken & Biscuits and the Migas tacos and they were both equally impressed. But the guac. Dear God, the GUAC! Fresh avocados with bacon, corn, cilantro, and grilled pineapple... Whoever concocted this recipe is pure genius- I could live off the stuff. Was in San Antonio visiting friends and family for Easter weekend, and we were down shopping in La Cantera and The Rim and tried to eat at a few restaurants but they were either unwilling to accommodate our larger party, or were quoting ridiculous wait times. And I understand it was Easter, and we were down with a wait, but saying it would be like two hours was crazy. We stumbled on Mash'D and read some good reviews , so we decided to try one more restaurant. Walked in and was greeted very friendly and and when we told them about what happened at other restaurant an amazingly friendly woman who we found out later was the manager Alli was so nice and willingly to accommodate our party . We had a small wait but were seated much quicker then we even expected. And I am glad we tried this place we shared a few orders of the fried pepperoni rolls and the blanco quest and they were amazing. I had the pho-kin soup and it was delicious. And throughout the meal Alli checked to make sure we were all doing great and had everything we needed. Didn't get to try the drinks because we had a drive ahead of us, but we will def be back. On my second visit to meet a friend to chat during happy hour I realized why I had not returned after my first visit. The music is SO INCREDIBLY LOUD at Mashd that it is annoying. Upon entering to get a table I realized there was no way I could spent an hour or 2 dining in this atmosphere. It is as loud as a night club and impossible to hold a conversation. Dropped in here for dinner on New Year's Eve while we were shopping at The Rim. Had never heard of it but the Yelp reviews were positive, so we gave it a shot. So glad we did. Unique takes on old favorites. The Legit Guacamole appetizer was a terrific starter. More than legit -- thoroughly enjoyable with big chunks of avocado. Not too heavy on the cilantro; lovely addition of corn; and no onions (hooray!). On to the entrees. My meatloaf was exquisite. Two of my dinner mates had the Bulgogi Tacos and raved about the sauce. Another dinner mate had the Shepherd's Pie, which was also super delicious (I know because I stole a taste). We didn't even try the moonshine offerings! Our waitress was very well informed and took very good care of us. She told us about the Sunday brunch and even brought us the brunch menus so we could drool a little bit -- and plan a future visit. Cannot wait to try the Manhole Cover Stuffed Pancake or the French Toast or the Mash'd Tator Eggsplosion. The descriptions sounded fantastic. And we hear they serve $2 Mimosas! Try this place. This is a great place with a very laid back vibe. Cool mural of pop culture above the bar. Plenty of big screen TVs with sports, plus a big screen TV with random clips playing, reminded me of Alamo Drafthouse a bit. Ordered a Nebraska IPA and Shepard's Pie, which was incredible. Also like the setup inside, plenty of booths around the edge with bar tables in the middle. Service was attentive and friendly. read more
