I've been pleasantly surprised with Señor Taco lately and so updating my review. Been doing some shopping close by so the last few weeks this has been my "go-to" place for quick and delicious Mexican Food. I was delighted experiencing for the first time, their El Pastor taco & an order of chips. This time, I had the rolled tacos and they were bomb! Super crispy, hot (temperature wise) & crunchy. Made to order, fresh & fantastic! Got 3 and the portion was great with the additional toppings that included guacamole & grated cheese for the price. The Taco was very good, and with the chips made it into a small nacho plate. The salsa station is exceptional. Hot carrots, two different types of onions: a grilled & a sliced pickled option plus approximately 6 different heat levels of salsa. Visited Señor Taco Express while in Gilbert. The atmosphere was very casual and quick-stop friendly, and the service was fast and efficient. I've stopped here a few times when I needed a quick bite. Tried a couple of their tacos -- simple, tasty, and satisfying for what they are. Tuesdays are especially good with tacos priced at $2.49, which makes it an easy and affordable stop. Okay not familiar at all with this chain and quite frankly the name made me think it was not gonna be good. WOW. So glad I tried it anyway because I was dead wrong. The quesabirria was incredibly delicious. They layer the tortillas with the bottom one having just cheese and the top one having cheese and meat and HOLY wow this was just amazing. I ordered two not realizing how big they actually are. Super messy, super worth it. Price 6.50 a taco. Nice indoor and friendly workers. I'll be dreaming of these tacos until my next Phoenix area trip. read more

I've been frequenting this place for the past 2+ years and in my experience they have always had high quality, delicious and fresh food while being reasonably priced. They consistently give you enough salsas, give very generous portions, are fairly quick preparing it (unnecessarily) all while having a drive thru for your convenience. They also continually have hospitable and kind service. In my opinion it's the best Mexican fast food place in that entire part of town and especially neighborhood. I don't know about other Senor Taco locations' food and service but this one is certainly top notch. If you love spicy hot sauce I recommend their diablo sauce! read more

Sadly this review is more about their using DoorDash as a delivery service. Ordered food this evening for delivery. Yeah, I know, one does take a chance. But tonight really really stunk. Dasher picked up food but decided to make multiple stops prior to us. 4 stops to be exact. 1 HOUF AFTER they picked up our food it got to us. We are about 8-10 min away from the location. Sure enough, arrived nice and cold. Thanks DoorDash. Only reason leaving this review here is because it is Senor Taco who has partnered with them on their website for take out orders through Clover, and there is no way to leave feedback for the dasher. Left a decent tip too. Just sad. Food was decent after heating up. We do enjoy their food. read more

I love, love, love tacos especially shrimp or asada so I opted for both to try since I'd never been to a Senior Taco before. Service was great and very friendly. It was later in the day around 4pm and only one other person eating inside. My son chose breakfast burrito which he said are his favorite here. The location was clean. Our food came out quickly. I knew I wasn't going to love the shrimp taco by the giant thing of sour cream drenched over it. It was ok, but I had to scrape a ton off. The Assad taco looked good but was very dry. Green salsa was good. I'd try again if nearby, but definitely not sold. read more

We've lived right down the street from this place and thought it was another Torchy's tacos or Rusty's tacos but it's an authentic Mexican restaurant. Being from California, the Mexican restaurants in Arizona always disappointed but not this one. It will be our regular spot :) read more

Pleasantly Surprised! A Hidden Gem for Taco Lovers We'll admit it--we were a little skeptical about trying Señor Taco Express. The name didn't exactly scream "authentic," but we're always up for a taco adventure, so we gave it a shot. And let's just say... we're so glad we did! We visited on a Tuesday (perfect timing for Taco Tuesday!), where they offer mini street tacos for just $1.99 each. But don't let the word mini fool you--these are full-sized, flavor-packed tacos, and we're pretty sure the tortillas are made in-house. We tried the Carne Asada, Carnitas, and El Pastor (skipping the Chicken this time), and while they were all tasty, the Carnitas was the clear winner. The Carne Asada was a close second, while the El Pastor, though flavorful, had a bit of gristle. We also ordered the Nachos with Carne Asada, and wow--these did not disappoint! A perfect balance of crispy chips, melty cheese, and well-seasoned meat. One thing to note: unlike some Mexican restaurants, Señor Taco Express doesn't offer complimentary chips, but they make up for it with an impressive salsa bar. The fish tacos are so good, and the Mexican Rice. We always come here and do drive thru. But today when I went there, they got my order wrong, gave me Shrimp tacos instead of fish tacos. And I made sure to repeat my order several times. Very disappointed as we only found out when we got home. Unfortunately the shrimp tacos are very bland and not very good. I tried the vegan burrito and it was out of this world! It's huge and filled with soy chorizo, rice, beans, guacamole, romaine and grilled vegetables. Came here for lunch after getting my car serviced and the staff is very nice and accommodating. The restaurant is very clean and well stocked. They have a salsa bar filled with sauces, limes, onions, spicy carrots, etc. The drink machine is Pepsi products and there are also iced teas. I ordered a carne asada bowl and it was very good but so filling that I brought it home! So tasty! I will go back again and try other items on the menu. Everything looks good and fresh! read more

I feel like I need to share this place with the world because I want it to stay in business 4 EVER! So good. BEST queso BIRRIA tacos I've ever had! The consommé had so much flavor that even after our tacos were gone, we continued to finish off the broth like it was an alcoholic beverage. The salsa bar is small, but everything we tried was great. Especially the chili with oil! Get ready for your tastebuds to be on fire, but definitely worth the burn. We also ordered the carne asada street tacos and the Al pastor. Both were amazing, but dare I say that the Al pastor was better than the carne asada??! So much flavor! I wanted to order more birria tacos for leftovers, but since we have breakfast plans tomorrow, I didn't want them to get soggy til the next days' dinner. Been waiting for over 30 minutes for 6 Street tacos and a quesabirria taco. They have messed up many people's orders while I've been waiting here. The service is friendly, patient and helpful and each time the restaurant is clean and well organized. TERRIBLE. Threw my food away a few bites in and drove to Taco Bell. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a birria taco. Beef taco was literally grey in color and so dry, looked like mystery meat and birria taco had no consome and was SO dry. This was disgusting and such a let down! This place is amazing! My go to is the fish tacos for the daily special...but the Cali surfing burrito is great as well. The best part of this restaurant is the customer service and the one that leads that customer service is Angel. That guy great. Talks to everyone like they are family. He is very personable. I'm a regular and he ALWAYS asks about my family and it's obvious he truly cares and is interested. I strongly recommend this place for delicious Mexican food. read more

Followed the good reviews and tried this place for the first time. We had perused the menu so knew what to order. Wife got the hash brown breakfast burrito. I had the daily special #5, 3 rolled beef tacos (taquitos) with beans and rice. Also a pork chile verde burrito for next day. Breakfast burrito was large, and abundantly full of everything expected. Excellent quality, and delicious. My taquitos were obviously home made, not the usual frozen generic ones, though I still crave those. Packed full of tasty beef, and perfectly fried. Nice quac & cheese topping. Beans & rice tasted fresh made and were very good as well. Just a taste of the huge green chile burrito, to know what to expect. Fresh, tasty and wrapped in an excellent oversized tortilla. Young man that served us at drive through was splendid! Got the order right, and courteously. Came away knowing that it's worth the extra 15 minute drive to come here for our drive through Mexican food. If this place was a Sit down service restaurant, it would be in the running for a 5 star, IMHO. We're looking forward to a return trip. read more

Wait! Stop what your doing and give this place a try! First time stopping in. I was driving home and seen the building. Swung a U-Turn and so glad I did! Staff was very friendly. I noticed they had a daily special. 3 rolled tacos, 1 beef taco and a cheese quesadilla. You're not going to find that much food that tasted this good for the price it was. I wanted a breakfast burrito and decided to give this place a try. I tried calling in but it went to a machine. I placed my order online for the Hashbrown burrito. When I arrived they told me it was actually a hashbrown bowl! What?! I messed that one up. However, they were so accommodating they made it into a burrito for me and even grilled it (at my request) and was so nice. Overall the burrito was good, it just lacked some flavor. We were so excited a Senor taco is near us because we really like the Diablo shrimp burrito - the best thing at Senor Taco but as the name says....very spicy. This location though seems to still be working through things. we didn't get the white sauce that comes with it and not able to get the burrito.enchilada style (but the person taking our order said he would definitely see what he could do to add it for next time). We decided to try the fries with chicken and weren't very impressed. Maybe eating in restaurant is different than take out. I'd give it another try though, I do like that it was quick - faster than the other location for sure! read more

Senor Taco (Express) blew my mind again. We stopped in for lunch at the location on Val Vista and Williams Field for lunch while we were out running some errands over the weekend. I decided to try the Baja fish taco. I have had it before at other locations but it can vary from place to place. This was the absolute best fried fish taco I've had anywhere (in the US) at any time in my life (60+ yrs). The fish was crispy and flavorful. The toppings were plentiful and the right proportions including the sauce all stuffed into a flour taco shell. It was immense and very satisfying. A big shout out to Mari, who prepared the taco and evidently knows what she's doing! I had also ordered a carne asada street taco and one of my favorite dishes from there, the shrimp caesar avocado salad. The street taco was tasty as always. After the two tacos I had no room left for the salad and we brought it home. A day later I took the salad, put it into a bowl, along with all the toppings that came with it. There was so much salad it nearly filled a 1 gallon tupperware bowl - it was like it doubled in size from the container it came in. This is in my opinion the best shrimp caesar avocado salad in all of Phoenix. Prior to covid, the cost was $11+. Post covid it only went up $12+. Price to value/quality could not be beat before covid and with everyone raising their prices from 20% to 30% afterwards, it's an even better value now. I could go on and on about all their shrimp dishes but I'll save that for a separate post shortly for the location on Arizona and Ocotillo. I believe in Bigfoot too, but that's for another conversation. Tacos make me happy. Especially good tacos. Found good ones at Senor Taco. The line of cars was a clear indication I was on to something good. Fish tacos were delicious with plenty of pico/cabbage and a distinct smoky chipotle sauce that was a perfect compliment to the taco. Not overpowering in taste or spice level, just a hint of smoke. Quesobirria was stuffed with gobs of meat and cheese and a crust of cheese on the outer shell that made for a helluva crunch with no risk of cracking a tooth. The breakfast burritos were humungous!!! We didn't realize we ordered the mucho grande (haha) but they each had to have been 4lbs! No joke. Both the roasted red salsa and green salsa were fabulous! Heat level cleared the sinuses.
