It's played with a standard height volleyball net but softer ball. You can hit the sides of the wall as well. It's a fun sport. If you're looking to play walleyball in the Fairfax area, check out this rec center. You can call them in advance and reserve a court. For 2 hours it costs each of us $11. You also get access to other facilities in the rec center. They have a decent locker room for shower and decent sauna. Huge swimming pool. Large parking area as well.

We're talking a soccer field, baseball field, volley ball are, tennis courts, and a really large play area for kids that is fenced off. There are also several park benches and a few of them have the roof canopy for those doing the picnic thing. I even saw a baseball practice area which is also enclosed. When I came today in a Sunday, there were several groups playing tennis and about twenty people playing volleyball which was cool. Having been stationed here for a short period of time, I wasn't even aware that the park existed. The park is located next to a library and it seems like there are also several condo buildings nearby.

Inside, they have a full-size swimming pool & diving well with both spring boards and platforms, there are racquetball courts, a gym, and studios for all kinds of classes like yoga, as well as a physical therapy office through INOVA. I have been here many times for my son's soccer & swim team practice as well as just coming to play and have fun. Personally, I have been here for yoga classes as well as PT including aquatic PT. You can purchase a class pass or pay a one day fee or you sign up for a wide variety of classes offered year round. On Wednesdays they have a local farmers market out in the parking lot. They also have county recycling bins, which I have used recently for glass. Note: as expected there's a heavy chlorine smell in the pool area so if you're sensitive before warned.

It's not a huge center but it does offering some solid amenities that cater to various interests and ages. The main thing I go for is the basketball court. On a good note the staff was friendly and helpful. The equipment looked to be well-maintained and a fun fact I learned was the the center hosts diverse community events which fosters a sense of inclusivity and togetherness. Oh and The cleanliness and organization of the premises were solid. My time at Mott Community Center was enjoyable, and I look forward to going back!

There's also a tennis and pickleball court nearby, and a trail behind the garden. There's also a lot of grass and greenery for picnics. The free parking is also a plus. I'm definitely going to visit this garden again with more people for a picnic or a stroll along the trail. Or even play tennis/pickleball! Truly, a beautiful addition to Arlington!
