A friend brought me here and introduced me to Ying and she's great. So great that I signed up for their monthly membership. I tried a couple of other masseuses and subsequently learned about their 10 minutes at the start and end of the massage, which has made me question my decision to join. I may cancel after my required 6 months. Haven't decided yet because it's still a good price. If I get a good massage. With the monthly membership an hour massage is the $90/month fee. If you want more than one hour massage, you can add $40 for an extra half hour or you can add any additional hour massage on another day for only $80. This is a very reasonable price. Their policy, however, is that at the start AND end of your massage, there is a 10 minute window for consultation and dressing. That means your 60 minute massage could be only 40 and your 90 minute massage could be only 70. That's a messed up policy. To be fair, however, I've only been 'cheated' out of 15 minutes total at any massage. Still this policy is really lame. I've never seen it anywhere else. Ying gives an amazing massage. I need deep tissue and her firm massage definitely delivers. I've seen her twice. Tammy is also decent, though the second half the massage I think she lost all her strength and though I asked for a firm massage, even asked her to take it up a notch at the start, she really fizzled out and I gave up trying to tell her and just fell asleep. Kellen is horrible. I asked him to focus on my low back and lower legs as I was in a lot of pain. First half the massage, he was not doing firm and never asked. I was going to ask to take it up but he got a bit better so I didn't. Then he had me turn over and that's when things went really bad. While on my back the only area he worked on is my neck. Why for gods sake? The neck is not my lower back or my legs. He didn't touch the front of my lower legs once. He didn't touch my feet once. Like, how is this focusing on my lower back and lower legs. At all? I was disappointed. He asked how it was when I met him outside. I said fine. Should I be honest? Why, it was over and I will never see him again. The front desk asked me how it was and I said ok. No questions. Obviously she cared. Anyway, that's the good and the bad. If you decide to come and/or join, it's a very clean place and relaxing atmosphere. Despite the monthly membership, you can ask for an "insurance receipt" to use for pretax reimbursement. read more

I was very disappointed with my massage I got last week. I think my massage therapist was named Patty or Tammy, she was an older woman. It was one of the worst massages I ever got. I asked her to apply a little more pressure several times but she did not, she talked a lot and learned that she has been a massage therapist for 20 years!!! I was blown away for being in this industry for so long you'd think the massage would be so much better. Just rubbing back and forth nothing strategic or really massaging the muscles, it was so terrible. She was nice and friendly but I came in for a good massage. I will not be coming back. Plus the "60 min massage" is such a scam...it's really a 50 min massage, because the additional 10 min is for "consultation and undressing" it's honestly BS. Save your money yall. read more

Facial: From beginning to end, an enjoyable experience. I appreciated the reminder text the day before. I appreciated being able to text when I thought I would be late (I wasn't). I appreciated the kind person who checked me in. I LOVE Niko's facials. He is is a fantastic esthetician, gentle, quiet and so very kind. I leave glowing. He takes care of his clients and it's why I come back! Checking out was easy and I purchased some moisturizer/sunscreen recommended by Niko. Massage: I normally go to Kellan. I don't enjoy deep tissue, he uses just the right amount of medium pressure. He's also quiet and attentive to any issues you ask to address in the massage. A few notes, they took away the coffee/tea. I would like that bakc. The Willows location will text when your fav technician has openings. I would love it, sort of like a waiting list. I had an appointment and they were late to get me for my scheduled time (which I arrived 15 min early for- per their request) which would be fine except then my massage was cut short to only 45 min. She did stretches for 15 min ( I didn't say a few stretches would be ok- but this was ridiculous, way too much- I am not paying for someone to stretch me, and ended my massage with stretching) which I didn't need. And then she completely skipped the entire front of my legs-- what the heck! The entire massage was rushed- 5 min per side on back, 5 min per arm, and 5 min per side back of legs and THATS IT! Then I had a gift card for one hour massage and they DO NOT HONOR THAT! only if you are a member does the card count for an actual full hour massage(which I didn't get). I would not recommend for all of these reasons and I will not be returning to this location ever again! read more

I have been a customer of this location for many years, so it is quite disappointing to experience the extreme decline in customer service. 3 times in the last 2 months I have shown up to have my appointment canceled or like today, someone other than the person that I schedules, waiting for me. This is all without one on one conversations giving me this information in advance. The person that they placed me with for my massage clearly things that rubbing your skin in the same place 15 times then moving a little to repeat is massaging. I told him that I would like to focus on my feet, neck and lower back during my 90 minutes. He never touched my feet or my neck. He pulled on each finger though 15 times each. I reached out to the management multiple times in the last 2 months to get Zero response. I will be using my next a final massage in Brentwood since it is already paid for and canceling my account. read more

He targeted the knots and tension in the areas I asked for attention on (back, neck, shoulders) and left me feeling in a much better way than when I came in. I really didn't want to write a review but I cannot begin to express my disappointment in my massage. The first time I had a massage here was great. The therapist was very quiet and direct (which did come off rude at first but it was a great massage). Today sucked. And I mean really sucked. They did not use any lotion at all. My legs were messaged with both the sheet and blanket on top.... I legit could not feel a single thing. I was so confused and just looking at the clock waiting to get out of there. I have been going to Massage Envy for years and I love it. I hate having to take prescription meds for muscle relaxation and today i felt pure relief. They listen to you when you tell them what you need and because of that i am no longer in pain after sleeping wrong a week ago. Would highly recommend making an appointment. Don't be discouraged if your first therapist isnt exactly what you need. Like any therapist, youre not going to always connect. I've been a massage envy member for over ten years. I had the worst massage this evening. It was like the therapist was first day at massage school. Lackluster massage, no checking in, apathetic, such slow motions I wondered if he had fallen asleep. When I checked out and let the front desk know how it was, there was no sense of customer service but rather "you could have told him" to do things differently. Wow. Such a bummer. I am a previous Massage Envy member of over 10 years. I canceled my membership because the monthly fee kept going up while the quality and availability of therapists kept going down. Worst of all, I only get deep tissue massages and finding a therapist that knows how to give a deep tissue massage was going from slim to none. Fast forward a few years, and yesterday, my wife surprised me with a birthday massage at this location; off the bat, I was skeptical and nervous, given my previous experiences I just shared, however, my wife made it clear that she made it crystal clear when booking that I needed a therapist for a deep tissue massage. At my appointment I was met by a therapist named Ginger. Immediately, she was giving off racist vibes, but I shrugged it off telling myself, if the massage is great, that's all that matters. The initial press from head to toe was good, but that's all Ginger could deliver for me. For the next 30mins, she was just rubbing her fingertips and knuckles against my spine, no hands/forearms/elbows, or squeezing, or long strokes on my muscles. I stopped and asked her if she was going to get into a deep tissue massage or if the entire massage was going to be like this. She informed me that what she was doing is a deep tissue massage, and that's when I ended it, THANKFULLY! No need for my wife to waste A LOT of money on this useless massage. My wife also had a massage that was about to begin, but she quickly backed out; they initially were charging my wife half for her massage/cancelation ($90!!!) but I asked nicely and they canceled her massage without penalizing her (will have to confirm with her bank transactions). Once again, Massage Envy strikes with their low quality and skilled therapists. I at least appreciate the front staff for doing the right thing and not penalizing my wife for her canceled massage-Thank you. We were there, together, for a celebration, and when I canceled, my wife said bye too, she's an amazing wife! Thankfully, my birthday celebration continued as I was able to quickly book 2 massages at another place and we both absolutely loved our deep tissue massages elsewhere! read more

I've got a membership and honestly I love it because I'm terrible about setting up an appointment and the hours I don't use carry over and I can get a 90 min massage which is so worth it. My first massage was with patty super sweet lady, great conversation and a nice gentle massage. Then I got a massage with Kellan, he's quiet, very relaxing touch and really listened and worked on areas I needed! Lastly I worked with Andrew (the reason I'm writing this review) this guy has got the magic hands, the pressure was much more firm then I've had before but it was perfect. I joined this Massage Envy because I seriously need massages at least once a month after all the working out. It's a nice treat. I've tried a handful of different masseuses in order to find the right one. I think I found him. He was pretty quiet during my massage, and has big hands which feel great rolling over my small frame. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because of the talking. I don't know how to tell my masseuse to please stop talking to me so i can enjoy a relaxation massage. I know they work in silence most of the time so I feel bad getting annoyed when they start talking, but honestly I go there to rest, not to make small talk. I have an existing medical condition that sometimes hinder blood circulation, so it was recommended that I go to a massage therapist. I live in Philadelphia, PA I went to a Message Envy in my area but I was not impressed. The therapist laid me flat on my back and just worked on my legs. When I left, I felt like it was just a waste of time and money. What that associate did was something I could have simply done myself. While visiting a friend in California, she suggested that I go to this Massage Envy in Concord, Jackie was my therapist for this visit. Let me tell you, when I left the salon, I did so with a new found respect for Natural Healing. Blood flow to my right leg has been a problem and while she focused on that area, she did not make it her main focus and she explained each process and the reasoning for it. But THAT reflexology on the feet was MAGICAL!!! This visit resulted in less trips to the doctors office, less medication and more walks around the park. read more

I have been a member since April 2009 and though there have been some not-so-great sessions, there have been MORE outstanding sessions with great therapists. What I personally like about Massage Envy in general is the ability to try out new therapists. It can be hit or miss, but the best way to choose a therapist is to ASK ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE! The front desk staff is very knowledgeable, especially since most of them try out the therapists themselves and can speak to their skills first-hand. Pros: At this particular location, I have had experienced nothing but friendly and attentive front desk staff and a very diverse group of therapists. Like most businesses, they value their repeat customers. The manager/owner is very nice, remembers my name and always makes time to chit chat a little bit. Cons: If you get a room that is sharing the wall with the Burger Road restaurant next door or next to the Staff Room - you will definitely hear some shuffling and muffled chatting. The walls are not very thick, so if the session in the room next to you is a chatty one, you can definitely hear some muffled chatting also. Enrolling in a membership is a great investment if you are experiencing chronic pain, are an athlete, or just enjoy being pampered every month. If you are an athlete, I recommend getting a membership ASAP - as this is my primary use for it. Their deep-tissue therapists are AWESOME!! read more

Came here to get my mom a gift card for Mother's Day and when she went to use it for a massage one of the front desk girls repeatedly gave her unnecessary attitude when she was just trying to reschedule an appointment. She also had the audacity to belittle her by asking her by saying ' have you ever even used one of these ' very sarcastically and rudely whilst pointing to an iPad, what the heck?? My mom ended up leaving frustrated and pissed off and didn't want a massage at all ever. To make it worse I emailed management because that's just unacceptable, and I spent a huge amount of money on that gift card that now would not be used. I've never been a fan of people that write reviews and start off by saying I wish I could give negative stars or zero stars; that was until I found massage envy at their Clayton valley location. I really don't know where to start, so I guess from the beginning. My husband and I were both gifted one hour massages each from a dear friend, I mean who gives away hours of massage? We were both so grateful for such an amazing gift and also was very excited to try massage envy. I've had massages on multiple continents all over the world and my hometown favorite is a little hole in the wall place called Far East massage in Park and shop. But as I said I was very interested in trying massage envy just to see how it compared. Let me start off by saying it was my first and only time I will ever go to a massage envy. My journey started by talking to their customer service reps who should probably not be customer service reps. Every person I spoke to seem to not understand the business model and constantly asking questions to get answers to the questions I had which were not difficult, questions like, what does a membership include how much time do I get per month with a membership can I cancel my membership? None of these questions were answered without assistance. Massage envy has so many rules when it comes to membership and gifting and transferring and it was exhausting to the point where I just gave up. But still intrigued and wanting to know more I decided to book an appointment for my husband and I. Now I can't speak for him as he is not as experienced with massages as I am but he too was not completely satisfied and didn't really care for it either. For myself my massage therapist who I will not name should not be a massage therapist. I think I would've felt better had he not even come into the room. I don't know what the requirements are for being a massage therapist at massage envy, but they should really re-evaluate their qualifications. This place is way over priced for what you get you're buying a brand, you're buying a name, and you're buying the idea that you're getting something better because it cost more. I'm going to stick with Far East massage on Willow Pass Road in Concord, that's who I prefer I would suggest you give them a try, or try anyone else but I highly recommend that you save your money and the headache of going to massage envy. read more

SECOND DEGREE BURNS FROM HOT STONE MASSAGE! I purchased a 90 minute hot stone massage for my husband's birthday last week. He went in for his massage with Angel on Sunday and came home with several large welts and a HUGE BLISTER! I called them immediately and was told I would receive a full refund and a call from the Manager on Monday. It has now been three days and I'm still waiting for the call and my refund. My husband and I each had massages on Saturday, April 16th at the Concord location. We had heard wonderful reviews about Massage Envy and were eager to become new clients. We called and booked two one hour appointments at the introductory rate. First, I would like to commend the staff - they were extremely courteous and polite. From the moment we walked in the front door, we were immediately greeted and taken to the waiting room. Moreover, each member of the staff that walked by repeatedly asked if they could service us in some way, either by providing water or anything else we might need. My husband's massage was entirely satisfactory. His massage went the full hour and included back, arms, legs, and feet. The masseuse was professional and attentive. What was of concern, however, was the massage I received. My massage began fifteen minutes after my husband's and lasted approximately 38 minutes (instead of the full hour I had paid for). While my masseuse was friendly (I believe her name was Kay?), she neglected to massage my legs and feet, which as a runner, are areas that I carry quite a bit of tension in. Overall, I was sorely disappointed. Instead of the one hour, full bodied massage I had been promised and paid for, I received a half completed massage in half the time allotted. We had looked forward to frequenting Massage Envy often, as the location was convenient and the prices competitive. We are uncertain at this point in time if we will return, however, if it is commonplace for patrons to receive only half of what they paid for. We hope that this was an anomaly and not Massage Envy's regular business practice. read more

I just received a call from the new manager..... Evidently over the course of the last month, there was a change in management, and in their computer system. This computer system will charge your account without your knowledge or approval. I had been on a payment plan where I call in with my card and make a payment, directly speaking with the manager only. It was working, until now. Now, I get a call from the new manager to tell me that I've been automatically charged. So their computer charged my card without my authorization automatically and it's my problem? Went in on Tues with a friend of mine we both had one hour massages we were placed in the same room the lady who did mine I think her name was Tess or Jess don't remember but she did a wonderful job.. whoever my friend had put her to sleep she was snoring on the table lmao!! the lady who did me was very nice polite and asked me if i was ok and seemed to really want to make it a pleasant experience for me which it was.. wish I could take that lady home and have her be my personal massage therapist I would def come back and have her work on me again! read more

I know it's a chain so i didn't have high expectations going in on the frou frou-ness of it; but knowing their full massage that's what I got. This particular location is nice. It's quiet which means it's easy to relax and enjoy your massage. The front staff are friendly although a little salesy. The masseuse is good! My friend had Carmen and i had Jasmine and no complaints here! I had the hot stone massage and i don't like a lot of pressure. I just wanna relax. I will probably be back to this particular location.
