Been here 2x's now for tension relief. My wishes were fulfilled - 1x by Holly. The 2x by Wendy. Both x's I was pressed for time (partial source of my tension, no doubt). Each were great! I had their 30m neck/shoulder massage ($30). Price & walk-in conscience is same as most nail spas but the plus is at Massage Essence, it is MUCH more relaxing. They gave me a quiet low lit room, had me lay on the massage table, face down & really worked on my knotted muscles. Yea! I'll be back again! read more

Like Richard S., I am not a big yelper. In fact, this is my first review; however, I had to post since I couldn't be more impressed with Massage Essence. After 20 years in the Marine Corps, and a lifetime of hurting myself doing things I really shouldn't have been doing, my body has quite a bit of wear and tear on it. Additionally, I apparently carry a boatload of stress in my upper back and shoulders that most therapists struggle to alleviate. I have tried the chain spas and found them a waste of time. In the years since I retired from the Corps, I have lived in the Chicago area, the Dallas area, and now Orange County. I have found very good therapists every where I have lived, but count myself lucky if I can find more than one in any particular location. Massage Essence is the exception to that rule. I have been there twice, had two different therapists; both were fantastic. Tiffany and Kelly have different styles, but the result was excellent with each. The manager, Janelle is very professional and extremely pleasant. You can tell her influence on her staff, as both Tiffany and Kelly also fit that description. I have finally found a place where I can get a massage that fits my schedule, yet not worry that I will have an unpleasant experience if my regular therapist is not available. I fully expect to be a customer for years to come. My only fear in posting this review is they will become so popular that I will have a hard time making appointments. read more

I have been a regular customer of this massage spa for a little more than 5 years. I go sometimes twice per week. Their people are kind, experienced, have good massage skills, and are very professional. Janelle, the owner of the spa, is always there and makes sure that everything is perfect for me when I come in. Before I started coming to this place, I tried many others, and found that the level of care is better here. I also have found that being a frequent visitor, allows the staff to get to know me and understand what I like. I'm not a big Yelper, but I wanted to take the time to let others know about something good. Treat yourself to a full body massage. Their rates are really affordable and I find 90 minutes to be most beneficial. I'm a big guy, and you'd think these tiny ladies wouldn't be strong enough.....but rest assured, they certainly are and can get to the deep tissue if you need it! It's always a good idea to call ahead and schedule an appointment, especially if there is someone in particular that you want to work with. I find that communicating with the masseuse and letting them know what you need is always helpful for them so they can give you the best possible experience each time. Go ahead, give them a try. So my only complaint about this place is that I didn't know it was a Thai massage. I have never had a Thai massage before so I have to say when the masseuse got on the table with me and started using her arms and legs I was a little wierded out. That being said, I feel 10X better and she worked very hard to work out the kinks in my neck and back. I would definitely go back again. read more

If you get past the motel 6 decor, the massage was decent. I didn't like that the massage therapist switched off with another massage therapist half way through the massage. I also didn't like that there were times when the door was left open. When I was leaving I noticed a peep hole in the door near the door knob. I looked into the peephole and could clearly see into the room. The massage table I was on was in plain view of the peep hole. Why is there a peep hole in a room I am getting naked in and getting a massage? Totally felt violated! read more

I have been here several times. Each time was great . I got right in when I wanted. My schedule changes all the time so it is hard for me to make appointments ahead of time. The first time I went I had Jenny , I really liked her so I asked for her the next few times. Then she wasn't there anymore. Then I got Wendy, she is very good . I have never had a problem here. I'm surprised at some of the reviews. The price is very low. With the service industry you really do need to leave a tip. For people that are leaving a $5.00 tip, you are cheap and have never worked in the service industry. For people that think this place is expensive I would question where are you from ? You must not get very many massages. If your from Thailand maybe it would seem very expensive. These people work very hard. Did you know most massage therapists only work for around 5 years ? That most can not work full time with out injuring themselves. I really appreciate this place. read more

The massage was great, I really loved the room and the setting of the lighting and music. We paid $50/hr which felt like a good price. I didn't appreciate having to pay as soon as I arrived, I would've like to pay after to include the tip as well. They walked out twice for a few minutes due to the phone ringing which I didn't appreciate but understood since they had limited staff. I enjoyed the massage and the pressure on my back and legs. I was only unhappy with the end when I wanted to give a $5 tip and they guilted me into a $10 tip(I would've needed change) saying that it was an hour of hard work, etc. I recognize it's hard and tiring work, but a tip isn't something to be demanded it has to be earned and is to the discretion of the customer! A tip isn't ever necessary, that's why there's a specific price. I'm unsure if I'd come back, the massage was great but the tip and payment situation made me uneasy. read more

Wow, simply amazing. This is now my 3rd time going to Massage Essence since I found out about it in January and I have to say this is the best massage I have ever been given. I'm an athlete which means my back and legs are constantly sore. Massage therapy helps a lot with muscle recovery, and it also helps me feel better after a long week at work. I went there today with kinks in my back, a sore neck, and shoulders that ached. The massage therapist paid special attention to the knot in my back and I feel 100% better. Everyone there is very friendly and also really professional, which is important to me. This is now my "go-to" spot and I highly recommend it. read more

My second time here because my first massage with Sara was great so I thought I found my new place to go to. So today I started off with Sara but half way into the session another woman (much older), Holly, came in to finish since I guess Sara had another appointment to get to?!?! Come time to pay, I gave her a $100 bill for an $80 massage. She came back with a $20 bill as change so I had to find change in my wallet. I left a 10 singles since I wasn't entirely happy of my massage and the whole therapist switch-a-roo thing. She started counting it out loud TWICE then looks at me and said "you have to pay 20% tip". What??? I asked her where does it say I "HAVE" to pay 20% tip and all she could say was "you suppose to give me 20% tip" and gave me a dirty look. She kept saying over and over "20% tip 20% tip" WTF. After me saying show me where it says it's mandatory to pay that and I will, she said it's ok so I threw her another $5. They just lost a customer and my referrals. read more

My wife and I have been going to Massage Essence for along time. What we both appreciate is that the Spa is very clean and the Masseuses are dressed neatly and are very friendly and very professional on their massage skills. We both appreciate the friendly environment especially when you walk in and your are always greeted with a smile either with Sara or one of her co-workers.
