This is probably the best experience I have ever had at a massage place. The environment is pristine, welcoming and the staff here are all wonderful. There is a reason this place has 5 stars across the board. If you are looking for a place to get a massage, you don't really need to look any further. Tiffany is who I have been seeing here for months now and she's just great. Her attention to detail is something to make note of. Every single session she is sure to ask me if I have any problem areas that we need to work on. She even remembers that I like ocean waves playing and indigo lighting for my session so right before we start she makes sure all of that is going. She is also well versed in multiple types of treatments. Depending on the problem areas we have used anything from cupping to ice rolling. She is a 1 stop shop and will make sure you leave feeling relaxed and ready to take on your day or sink into bed for the evening. Massage Matters is the only massage place that matters. I was referred to Massage Matters Clinic by some friends who'd enjoyed their massages there during the COVID lockdowns. I booked an appointment with Alex to specifically address some issues in my back and left shoulder. After some deep tissue massage, vigorous muscle scraping and cupping therapy, I left bruised, hickeyed, relaxed...and feeling better. My shoulder and lower back steadily improved over the next several days. I've returned several times since then, sometimes just for a classic massage; others for a more therapeutic approach. I've even had scraping to help heal a gnarly case of plantar fasciitis and it genuinely helped. I always ask for Alex because he has proven himself to be skilled and approachable. As soon as I describe a particular issue, he immediately diagnoses it, points to a chart to show me the muscle groups involved, recommends a strategy and gets to work. Before coming to Massage Matters, I'd considered massage to be more of an indulgence that I would reward myself with a few times per year. But now I recognize that it can be medically therapeutic as well. Alex is excellent and the front desk staff are always professional but friendly as well. I've never booked for a session shorter than 80 minutes so I can't speak to those. I do recommend at least 80 minutes to allow enough time for thorough treatment with a little relaxation at the end. read more

Wow I was blown away. Literally had the most amazing session. 80 minutes was not enough. I wanted my massage to go longer. I was honestly in complete zen. You already know I had to book another massage ASAP. I'm even considering on getting the membership at this point. My massage therapist was Alex and he did such an amazing job. He definitely knew what he was doing. He focused on the areas where I felt the most discomfort and he used different techniques to alleviate that discomfort. He also used the theragun on me from time to time and ended the session with cupping. Opt in for the menthol Cbd oil. It gave such a cooling sensation on the body. Their policy states that you have to give 30 days' notice, and at this point, I've given them 60 days and they can't get it right. read more

I really hate to write this review but feel I need to warn others. At this very moment I'm in tears freaked out about my neck. For context, I've gotten a lot of body work done over the years with massage therapists of practically all modalities (NMT, reflexology, ART, thai massage, deep tissue and sports massage , chiropractic massage, and swedish massage). And for the most part I've had ok-to-stellar experiences. I've really loved Massage Matters. Some of the massage therapists who work here are great! They were great enough for me to get a monthly membership. And because of great experiences with multiple other MM therapists I figured I could schedule based on my own availability and would get another great massage therapist. I had a massage this past week with Matt. He was very nice and welcoming, but the massage was honestly bad enough to make me glad I was already scheduled to see my chiropractor Monday. And despite that I'm still crying because I'm worried about how bad the damage was, and whether my chiro will be able to quickly and effectively remedy the issue. I normally get chiropractic, sports, and/or deep tissue massages. His massage technique was... I'd best describe as deep swedish. Forceful gliding motions across my body, not quite targeted in expected ways. He'd periodically do this over flat bony areas (eg on top of shoulder blades) and not notice (???) that there wasn't muscle there, or that he wasn't getting the muscle underneath/surrounding the area. He also would use his forearm and hit my spine occasionally. At some point he apologized when he noticed me more visibly twitch. He also tried various modalities with gusto that I get the impression he has limited training/experience in. I typically trust my healthcare providers (and get massages that I want to hurt in good ways/sometimes hurt in the moment but are restorative afterward). And I've tried so many modalities that I was open to whatever type he seems comfortable with. I was wrong to do that. As for my neck, even with regular massage practices, he applied intense pressure on weird spots -- something I'd normally like and trusted would be good for me. But some of those spots were specific vertebrae. And now today things are feeling real weird. At some point he also applied pressure on my throat, seemingly without noticing. It was just the once so I let it go assuming he realized and moved on. He tried cupping on me, which I generally really like and have only had good experiences with. But he put the cups too close together, stretching the skin between cups, and not in strategic spots. I've had cupping done by cupping specialists, acupuncturists, and TCM practitioners and they've all been really targeted and intentional. He also tried spinal decompression. I see my chiropractor multiple times a week for this and have had other massage therapists practice a mild form of it, so figured it'd be ok. At my chiro I usually have 27 lbs of weight for it. Here, he leaned a lot of his weight into pulling my neck in a way that I'm not sure is actually ok. He told me to let him know if it hurt, and I did not say it did because it was just uncomfortable rather than painful. And my chiro decompressions are also somewhat uncomfortable but ultimately good afterward, so I resolved to just let him continue unless it hurt. In retrospect I should have stopped him earlier, or been more wary overall when the deep swedish started. Because now not only am I hoping to get a massage elsewhere or at least by another therapist -- again many here are awesome -- I'm worried af that my neck is feeling weird and tingley. I would have rated MM 5 stars easily for prior experiences but am rating 2 stars because of how awful and upsetting this past appt was. Matt was very nice guy but I think he needs a lot more training before trying new modalities (or even doing deep tissue work of any kind). I suspect he probably is great at gentle swedish styles because he tried those motions, just not targeted and with tons of pressure in weird places. read more

Moana is seriously the best massage therapist i've ever had! She is very knowledgeable and caring but also hilarious and fun! I've never had as fast of a recovery as these two sessions with Moana, a week ago I was in so much pain that it hurt to drive, sit or turn my head, it was actually shocking how much better I felt literally one day after going to see her! Loved my experience at Massage Matters today ! My masseuse was Alexis and she was awesome! She examined my situation with my neck and asked lots of questions to figure out what was going on. My massage was great, filled with lots of acupressure to really work out a kink in my neck. She was super knowledgeable and even gave me advice of what I could do to help treat my neck problems at home. I'll be back again for another treatment in about a week. The clinic was really nice! I loved the vibe and it felt super clean and well cared for. They have waters and a nice waiting room. COVID-19 precautions in place with everyone wearing masks and the front desk also has plexiglass. Hand sanitizer stations throughout and they have a fancy tablet stand to check temperatures upon entrance. I felt safe! Romina is my girl I've been coming to her for almost a year now. Since I've been coming here I have not had any injuries. I come at least 2-4x a month I train about 15-20 hour a week for Ironmans so my body is wreaked every time I see her and she helps me recover faster so I can keep going. I don't think it does justice to simply call their service "massage". I've had many massages but this was absolutely the best. They will find muscles you didn't even know you had or stressed spots that are connected to other problem spots. This is not a massage where you fall asleep. Don't go if you just want someone to rub while listening to relaxing music. But if you are experiencing pain or tight muscles, this is the place. I only had one session and I don't have the sharp pain in the lower back I went there for. It is more of a medical and clinical treatment than a spa style massage. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! I am from out of State and originally booked an appointment for myself. I then had a couple friends say they would like to come with me so I called the receptionist and when I asked they said they were full. Well, I got a call about 20 min later saying they had two people come in so my friends could go! Awesome service from the start! When I walked into Massage Matters the atmosphere was very relaxed and very clean. The receptionist was awesome and got me and my friends checked in and accommodated our needs. My lady's name was Romina and she was amazing! When I walked into the massage room she asked me a few questions and made sure she was ready to give me the best massage she could. She also informed me I could change the color of the lighting by saying "hey google" which I thought was pretty rad. I'm not going back. Massage was horrible. The masseuse was not intuitive at all. It felt very rehearsed as if she was going through the massage from a corporate manual. The lighting in the rooms are custom to what you want. I went green. But from doing so it left the room super dark. When the masseuse left the room, she didn't change the lighting so I could see to get dressed. During the massage there was a super loud conversation going on somewhere else and it was distracting. The AC is also on really high to keep the masseuse's comfortable, but as a result, I was freezing. read more

She didn't ask what I was interested in and just all of a sudden did cupping, some other technique that I get at PT that is like a knife that breaks things down, & some massage machine that was horrible. It was honestly the weirdest 'massage' I've ever had. I wanted to book a 2 hour but they only had 50 minutes...thankfully, as that was all I needed of this. They should ask more about someone's needs & also be up front about what they do. Yesterday, I was in desperation due to an aggravating throbbing pain in my shoulder/forearm --that even sitting still is painful! I was crying bec of pain-- I have a very high tolerance in pain threshold but this one -- Nope! It was too painful! My husband was able to call this place and squeezed me on a 30min help--- TJ was my therapist, oh boy, he knows his stuff! From 10 of pain was 5 and able to do a little movement-- but because its not enough time to be relieved I had to re-book for an hour massage again on same day--- Wow! wow! Wow! The motion of my arm was unbelievable! I was able to lift my arm halfway, sideways, and bending-- his hands so soft and really knows where the pain/knot is and what's it connected to and what stretches I need to do to prevent injury. Thank you TJ Im still gonna come back again for more treatment til I get my full motion back. It's been over one year that I have been experiencing pain on and off due to arm reduction surgery. I've visited two other massage locations with very little relief at the end of the sessions. Last night was a different story. Ruben was able to find all the areas I have been experiencing pain without me even indicating where to start. I can't say enough good things about my massage therapist, Mariah! She is absolutely phenomenal! I have chronic back and shoulder pain, and I've had at least 100 massages in my lifetime so far... And Mariah's massages are by FAR the best I've ever had! She really listens to where your pain is, and is able to help get all those pesky knots out! However, she's not SO forced on just the knots that you can't relax. She doesn't waste time pressure pointing to uncomfortable levels, and makes sure to target all the areas you ask for. It's that just right combo of relaxation, and targeting the tension/pain points that I'm always hoping for in a massage. Literally even if I don't tell Mariah where my tension is, it's like she can read my mind and just does the exact right pressure and everything to make it feel so great. She's a mom, and knows all those typical tension points us Mama's tend to get throughout the day from carrying toddlers around/ nursing/driving, etc. I have never signed up for a monthly massage service before (even though I LOVE massages), just because I've always been at least slightly disappointed with the quality of my massage. But after one massage with Mariah, I signed up right away with Massage Matters! I've gotten a few massages from her so far and I'm never disappointed. I look forward to going every time to get some much needed self-care. I've been having major issues with my shoulder since 2016, after an injury and frozen shoulder. I've had very limited range of motion, and uncomfortable twitches due to nerve damage. I went in to see Romina, and after about an hour of work, alone just on and around my shoulder, it felt a lot better! Definitely need the maintenance after, which is why I signed up for their membership. She used cupping and other methods to help relieve the muscles and give back blood flow to all the damaged scar tissue. I did a 90 minute massage, and I was sad when it came to an end. I highly recommend this massage studio, as the front desk Fiona, and team, will place you with the proper therapist in regards to what you need done, whether just to relax, or get some deep muscle work done. read more

If you want to have the best massage of all time, book an 80minute CBD massage with BRI and I promise you, you will leave being a happy bowl of jello. Seriously, she addressed all my major complaints with skill, intuition, and was so attentive to making sure I was okay all throughout.
