Massage Luxe seems to be a rather busy, but friendly and inviting business in the Willowbrook area. I have gone several times to this location because I wanted to find a massage place that offers affordable prices and a friendly atmosphere with knowledgable therapists. I've been to other places, and have always left with mixed emotions; either the massage was good and the place was uninviting, or the place was nice and the therapist was inexperienced or just downright bad. Ever since my first session at Massage Luxe, I have felt as though each therapist I've worked with has been very good at their craft; and I must admit...I do have alot of respect for a professional who can handle doing consecutive sessions, and STILL manage to give a great massage at the end of the day. From what I understand, most massage therapists are over-worked and extremely underpaid. I try to make up for this sad fact with a decent tip, but I know that many customers do not take this into consideration. Regardless, I just want to say to anyone giving a bad review of the therapists at Massage Luxe: I'm pretty confident that there isnt a therapist there who would short someone on their time (unless you are late for you appointment, and the therapist has no choice but to cut your time in order to take their next appointment in on time...and that my friend is YOUR fault), and in fact, I know that many of them will work into their break time in order to accomidate late-comers (now THATS customer service). Please let's also keep in mind that this is a 1 hour session, but 50 minutes of actual massage since the therapists allow time for consultation and dressing before and after your massage (this is standard practice everywhere I've gone). I'm also sure that every therapist there (at least the ones I've had the pleasure to work with) with work with you regarding the type of massage you are looking for, and the type of pressure you desire if only you COMMUNICATE with them personally when they check in with you during your session. Let's face it; you can't get what you want unless you ask for it. And as far as the Membership Plan that they offer (it's a soft sell...NO pressure at all), I think that 60 bucks a month is an AWESOME deal if you are looking for consistant massage sessions. I would reccomend Massage Luxe to anyone who is looking for a great deal on a great massage with friendly people to greet you, and professional hard-working therapists. I decided to try this place out due to the great $38 special they offer for all new clients. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the staff so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The place was clean, comfortable and inviting. I was taken back to the relaxation room to wait for my therapist. This "luxe lounge" was very soothing and relaxing. The therapist immediately greeted me and took me back to the room. The massage was AMAZING!!! I had asked for a combination of swedish and deep tissue with focus on my neck head and shoulders. The therapist had a great touch. The pressure was perfect and my areas of tension and hypertonicity were relieved after the session. She gave me great self care feedback after the massage and explained to me why I was having such issues. Other places I have visited did not listen to me. They gave me a simple swedish massage and did not work out any areas that I had requested deeper pressure. Receptionist was very nice and did give me a sales pitch about signing up for a membership, but it wasn't overbearing or forceful. For just thirty eight dollars for your first massage, this is the best place to go. I just went there the other day and it was phenomenal. The staff is great and the place is very inviting and my massage therapist was extremely knowledgable. she even knew aromatherapy very well. My back was the place where I wanted the most work done and oh boy it was done well. She even massaged the surrounding muscles which at first thought was weird but later to find out that by massaging surrounding muscles, it can help the original issue. If I had to describe the talent of the massage therapist with two words it would be valume hands, because I fell asleep within the first half-hour. I first went to Massage Luxe on 2/14/11, apparently the day they first opened. I had such a great experience and I have been going twice a month ever since. The staff, the place, the massages are all top notch. If your into a great massage without the spa treatment, slippers, robe, HIGH PRICE, etc. then this place is for you. My one knock, which is really not a big deal, is the music they pipe in is not so great, hopefully they will change it up soon! I want to say this is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a review (for anything!) and I am only doing it because my experience has been so fabulous. I have been to other massage companies but I felt way less pressured to "join" and they actually had a lot more flexible program so I wasn't pressured to have the monthly massage or I would "lose it". The initial massage I had was wonderful-a cross between Swedish and deep tissue-and the therapist really listened carefully to my list of aches and pains. I need a regular massage to help with back problems and this did help considerably. The unlimited access to the water bed with it's own massage program helped with the daily stress and muscle tightness. I went in last weekend, and actually created an account just to make this review as I've never really felt the need to create one. HOWEVER, this was a absolutely amazing experience so I felt like I HAD to share! Mari the therapist, is amazing! This was my first massage since the pandemic has changed the entire world.. and she made it BEYOND delightful. This was my second time here and both times I was well satisfied. I recommend coming in early to use the heated water massage table and to get the 90 minute session, they have a first timers price that was only 75$ for the 90 minute, and it was WELL worth it. Massage was great. Highly recommend. When I was done, like most places they obviously try to sell you on their membership which is usually uncomfortable and pushy (i personally dread this) BUT... The front desk girl, Caitlin, made me feel super at ease with no pressure and actually let me leave feeling relaxed after my massage. She spoke to me like a human, so down to earth, and actually cared what I had to say without shoving something down my throat. And the deal they have is pretty good and doesn't seem like a scam by how she explained it. Will definitely be back for another massage and actually considering a membership now. After reading all the reviews I still decided to go after I got a gift card. I decided to try it out and it was fantastic. The new owners and managers were very helpful. They said they took over in the past month and for me at least were very helpful. My massage was amazing and if it wasn't for being out of town so often I would have done the monthly membership. This is an A+ operation. Clean, professional, very reasonable prices, and several top-notch therapists. I've been suffering for years with painful sciatica and after a few sessions with one of the lead therapists - Christine - I have been able to more fully participate in life than I have been able to do in years. My wife purchased the introductory massage for me when Massage Luxe opened. I was so impressed, I signed up for a membership and now I go back at least once every 3 weeks (many times more often). The staff is excellent. They treat everyone as though they are the only customer they have. The massage therapists are some of the most professional I've had the opportunity to work with. I had a 90 minute massage with Joseph this morning. I told him that I was struggling with upper back and neck pain and he did an excellent job targeting my trigger points and releasing tension from my neck and shoulders. The facility itself is clean and comfortable and any of the personnel/staff I interacted with were very professional and friendly. Anyone that works out or into sports and needs to get those muscles loosened up Jim Finnigan is your guy. He's amazing. He does a clothes on sports massage that will make you feel like a new person. I was very satisfied after my massage. Standard rate compared to other massage parlors and the woman that worked on me was very nice and compassionate to my needs. If I asked her to go a bit softer or harder, she did. She also asked me frequently if the pressure was right. Overall I had a good experience here. read more
