Price is more than reasonable, I know I would have paid at least 50% more at another shop. Kevin is honest, he explained in detail everything that was done once completed, he even showed me all parts that had been replaced. I trust him completely so really didn't need that, but he wants to be sure the customer knows the work on the invoice was done. There was one repair that would have been very expensive but he explained it was not necessary and why, I was comfortable with his explanation and saved up to $1,000. Another shop would have told me it was necessary. I have been going to Master Auto for at least several years. The last location was much closer to my home, this is worth the drive. To avoid having to get a rental car Kevin agreed to complete the work within 3-4 hours as long as no surprise repairs came up. Kevin is the best mechanic I have ever worked with. He has reasonable rates and will go above and beyond to make sure you get a fair deal. One time he cut out a rusted part on the bottom of my car and fused a new piece in its place. Even though it was more work for him, he didn't want me to have to pay to replaced the entire piece that runs along the bottom of the car (Sorry to be vague, but I'm not a car person at all - which is why it's so lucky I found Kevin.). One time, my car was still making strange noises the week after bringing it it. I brought it back to Kevin, he fixed something else and didn't charge me. His office/waiting area isn't anything to write home about, but he's quick, efficient and trustworthy. I also love that his main method of communicating is through text. I just text him during the week to tell him what's wrong with my car and he'll tell me when to swing by. I spoke to Kevin over the phone and he said it will cost me $20 bucks. It felt too good to be true since I was getting quotes for around $100. I gave it a try since there's so many good Yelp reviews and an appointment was not necessary. It was a bit confusing trying to find the office area of the auto shop. You have to drive all the way to the back. I waited only 15 minutes before Kevin squeezed me in to check out my car. I had a little bit of a difficult time understanding his accent but he asked for my number and texted what was wrong. It could be a simple problem of the gas tank cap not closing tight enough and letting the air in. He took a picture from his computer with the engine light trouble codes that popped up from the test and removed the check engine light. Living in VA for the past 8 years, I have not found a reliable/affordable mechanic until now. I needed front brake pads, drum, and brake fluid so I got a few quotes. AAA- $431 + cost of brake fluid (but another mechanic warned me never to get any major work done at AAA). Fairfax Auto- $633 Cardinal Shell- $780 Master Auto Care- $411 Secondly, Mr. Hwang worked quickly to get me in and out as promised. He mentioned that there was another noise and that whoever fixed my strut in the past had installed the cheapest part, which was starting to wear. He did not recommend any further work but told me he would keep an eye on it for next time. His integrity over using the best parts is what will keep people coming to his shop. Not only they charged me $120 for that, but they also quoted me $920 for works they told me to get done. They also told me if I don't get something fixed soon, I would fail the emission test. I called and explained the issues to the owner, and he told me I can either come in real quick, so he can take a look or bring the car in when the engine light comes on again since my car is not in any danger for stopping in the middle of the road, which I did. The mechanics at Master Auto Care do an exceptional job. The owner was very fair in giving a quote and being honest. He was able to make accommodations for me to drop my car off and leave the keys in the night drop after hours. The owner was consistently responding to my questions and was giving updates as to when my car would be done.
