I was having a slight issue with my car not starting initially when I turn the key, after a few seconds the car will start again. This has happened very seldom but I wanted the issue gone. Thinking this may be the ignition I sent a project request in Yelp. Evgenii messaged back right away and was able to be over my place in an hour. When he arrived he had another worker with him and they went to work to diagnose the issue. After assessing the car they could not locate any issues with the ignition starter. I needed my Land Rover key fob replaced. My old car key's housing was pretty beat up, so I purchased a new plastic housing for it online hoping to just transfer the chip and key blade into the new one. However, it was more involved than expected (the old key blade wasn't an exact fit in the new housing and the battery comes soldered into the board), so I needed to call the pros to get a new key cut and replace the battery. Evgenii responded quickly to my request for a quote and was by far the best priced. I asked about pricing to create a new key as a spare (pricing seemed fair but was higher than using what I already had). He didn't try to upsell me and said he'd just restore my key. He honored the original pricing, even though he and his partner needed to do a lot more work than originally estimated because I damaged the chip when I was prying open the old housing. This included troubleshooting what I broke, but he was able to fix it with a bit of soldering. (Here's a tip: Be super careful prying open your key fob so you don't snap off a resistor like I did! Or just leave it up to the pros if you don't know what you're doing.) They were able to complete all this in just over an hour. I'd imagine without a broken circuit board and all the troubleshooting, it would've been half an hour just for replacing the battery and cutting a new key. I didn't see any reviews yet for this business, so I figured I'd write up something that might help others. I'm guessing this is a relatively new business but they do great work. I lost both keys to my Audi A5 and Evgenii at Master Automotive Key was able to get me a working replacement keyed off my emergency (plastic) backup key along with the necessary fob for starting an running the car. We ran into an issue of compatibility with the fob he had originally purchased, which meant some features like the push button start and keyless entry wouldn't work (unsurprisingly for a German car of this style, the key system is complex). Evgenii worked hard to try to fix this including purchasing other fobs and coming back two additional times to try to get a complete working solution. In the end, we couldn't get everything working but I have a key to operate my car and am thankful for that. I likely will need to make the dreaded visit to the dealership to get a fully operational key fob but thanks to them, now it isn't an emergency priority. I still give Master Automotive Key 4 stars for their responsiveness, professionalism and making the above and beyond effort, even if the end result wasn't the full result either of us were hoping for. read more

2006 Volkswagen Jetta... I needed a new spare key made. The Jettas for these years had that folding Key Fob. Not too many locksmiths can cut and program this key. I was trying to avoid going through the Volkswagen Dealership. I took a few quotes from locksmiths specializing in auto keys on Yelp. Master Automotive Key was one of the most responsive. Pricing was way less than the dealership as well as competitive with the other independent locksmiths I was receiving quotes from. They were able to accommodate an appointment the next day in the afternoon. They messaged me a time. They also messaged me when they were running late. They also followed my instructions for entering my apartment complex. They worked very quickly. Whole process took about 20 minutes. They even saw that the housing for my car battery was installed incorrectly and fixed it. Disconnecting the battery did cause a few indicator lights to remain on. The car just needed to be driven in order for the lights to go away. They waited for me to drive the car to ensure the indicator lights on the dash went off. They also did not leave until I thoroughly tested both keys. Locking/Unlocking/Trunk/Ignition Start/Door tests.. Everything works great. Note: The spare key is aftermarket, NOT Volkswagen OEM. I have been reluctant to write this negative review because on a personal level the owner of the business and his associate are hard-working and decent men. But I feel I should tell of my experience with them so future potential customers might find it instructive. I hired them to cut and program 2 new FOB keys for my Ford van - twice. Though they had difficulty with this task on their first visit, they eventually succeeded. The second time I hired them they tried repeated times but were unsuccessul requiring the van to be taken in to Ford dealer to take over. Before this happened they tried several times several day, They got it started, drove it to the Ford dealer where it spent about 3 weeks during which I was deprived of its use for my business. To get this handled, I had the dealer purchase and install a new BCM, believing Master in their many failed attempts damaged it. That cost me $700. The end? The keys did get cut and programmed. My cost? Not the $200 I agreed to pay but $700. Next time I won't be so cheap and take the key job to the company that Sunnyvale Ford told me use in the first place. read more
