There's no shortage of great things I can say about Mario and his team at Master Movers! I live 3000+ miles away from the site of the move that was coordinated on behalf of someone else. He was always available (somehow) to connect with me any time I had any questions and even offered to help arrange rides and purchase other things unrelated to the move just to make things easier on my family. They did not even show. I even texted the day before to confirm the move (I had requested off of work to accommodate this move) and was told it was confirmed. Day of the move, texted and called several times to no response. Had to scramble to pay Bellhops an express move fee because of Master Movers blowing me off. Due to it being last minute, we ended up having to move during rush hour and pay an ungodly amount due to the time. It's like being ghosted by a company. Terrible. Finally received an update from Master Movers. I am incredibly sorry that his wife had surgery but as my boyfriend is a doctor, last minute surgeries are widely uncommon and it would at least have given us several hours notice if that was the case. If you look in previous reviews there are more "no show" cases. Perhaps Master Movers is great once they show up, but you are taking a gamble there. read more

I really wanted to be able to give Master Movers a 5 star review but I wish something was clarified at the end of the move when it was time to pay. I went with a 2 man crew for $70/hour. My move ended up being at most 3 hours, which should have costed a total of $210 (not including tip). They requested $255 total. I'm very confused by this because when I was inquiring about their services, I specifically asked if there would be any extra charges. They told me there would be no extra fees and that they would provide "26 ft box truck fully equipped with shrink wrap, tape, tools, and plenty of moving blankets." I'm wondering if maybe it's because the third man (Mario) that was supposed to only drive the truck started helping out with moving the stuff. But even he clarified at the end that we were only being charged for a 2 man crew. I can't say what the extra $45 is for and that's why I can't give a 5 star review because this wasn't explained. We still tipped the 3 men $20 each so it ended up costing much more than expected. We confirmed for the movers to come at 10 am on a Saturday but they showed up at 11 am, which is a trend I've seen in other reviews. To give some positive notes, Mario responded very quickly to my message on Yelp and the movers were very friendly and careful with my belongings. I really appreciated that Mario also started helping out himself even though he said his back was hurting from an injury. I never write reviews but I have to for this one. The absolute worst company I think I possibly could have worked with. They do not accurately quote at all and initially quoted me $3,400 for all of my items and then on the day of moving said it was going to be $12,000. They then took my stuff and I told them the date I would need it it by and they decided to upcharge me $1,000 for storage for one month and told me I could either have it delivered somewhere that day (a month away from closing date.) or pay the $1,000 and hung up the phone immediately after. I am extremely dissatisfied with their service. I called them and scheduled the move for my aged parents. I wanted to have a complete packing and unpacking so my parents would not have to do much as they are in their mid 80's.. So these movers said there was no need to pack and I just need to get some boxes and they could move everything in the boxes and unload them in the new apartment as the move was in the same apartment complex..but to my surprise the movers who arrived said they did not know it they had to unload. Instead they just dumped all the kitchen items in a box and left in the new apartment and my aged parents had to unload everything themselves ..these movers were even in a rush that they did not move everything in the kitchen citing lack of boxes we had provided. I have had other movers before and tehy came prepared with boxes and when I asked a complete move they did a complete move even unloading everything in the boxes...so I am extremely disappointed as my parents had to spend a few days unpacking themselves. I used this company before and had an ok experience with them, so my wife's grandma is in bad shape and she moved from her apartment to a senior home living. I recommended my mother in law with this company to help with the move, so she called them 3 days ago to schedule service for sunday morning and they told her they will show up between 8-9am for the move. On sunday at 10am no one at this company answered nor responded to voice messages and emails. and THEY WERE NO SHOW, disappointed and mad with had to rent a haul and do all the work ourself cause no one was available in that short notice. I booked Master Movers to help us move some furniture from our house into our garage apartment and then around within the house to make room for new furniture. It was a small job with no loading/unloading of the truck and took about 1.25 hours, just to put my review in context. (There's a 2 hour minimum but that was the case with every company I contacted and Mario's rate was very reasonable.) During the move, Mario and the other man (whose name I didn't catch) were friendly and professional, and did a great job of checking with me on furniture placement, being flexible on moving things around, and took care with my home and furniture. Nothing was damaged. The move itself was 5 stars. The reason I can only give 4 is that the communication was very poor. I would have expected to receive a confirmation call or text but I didn't so I had to reach out to confirm. On the day of the move, my window was 3-5. I didn't hear from them at all so at 3:30 I texted to get an update with no response. At 4 I called and left a voicemail. At 5 I texted again with no response. Finally Mario texted me back around 5:20 to say the crew was running late. They finally arrived at my house at 6:45pm. I understand that sometimes jobs take longer than expected, but it's important to keep the customer informed. We were in a panic thinking they weren't coming and we had furniture being delivered the next morning. My husband had begun texting friends to come over and help. It was unnecessarily stressful. I would use them again as is because of the great job they did moving the items, but if they improve their communication, this would be an A+ company. read more

First let me start with the "room for improvement" category: Master movers didn't do the best job of keeping me informed early in the game. I ended up being the one who texted confirmations etc. We were scheduled for move starting between 8 and 9 am but I hadn't heard from anyone by them so I called Mario at 9. He informed me the crew was running late, but would arrive in about 30 to 40 minutes. We waited and still no call and no show. Mario called us and let us know that the crew scheduled to move us actually caught a flat tire, so Mario told us he would come out himself. He showed up with a 3 man crew, apologized for the delay, and they got right to work. Basically, I just wanted a little more communication on the day of, but that is my only real piece of "constructive criticism." The greats: Mario and his crew showed up, were kind, professional, and got the job done FAST. We got our stuff loaded and unloaded in a total of 2 hours, the drive to the new place was about 45 minutes so total of almost 3 hours. Price was SUPER reasonable. Mario constantly offered us water, even though he and the crew were the ones working their butts off! Mario even re assembled our beds for us (without asking). I would give 10 stars if I could. They showed up on time, masked and ready to roll. Didn't leave any scratches in my landlords wooden floors. One even pulled me aside and shows me mold on a dresser before placing it in my brand new home. He saved me so much potential trouble. These guys got my move done in 6 hours flat and my move was 45 minutes away. My household is an 8.5 hour job easy and they got it done in 6 with disassembly and reassembly of 4 beds and 2 dressers. I used this company based one a recommendation from my apartment complex La Maison. First off, picking movers is tuff cause you really dont know what your going to get it. Using a recommendation gave me more confidence on who I wanted to move my valuables. I am so glad I went with these guys! They are the hands down the best movers And i had the best experience (moving really sucks, I hate it but these guys made is super easy) . On 10/15/22 was the date scheduled for Master Movers to come out to move me which I was scheduled for the time 12pm-2pm only for the movers to actually arrive at 5:30 pm no one communicated with me letting me know that they would be arriving late until I reached out to find out what was going on...once they arrived at my location things went from bad to worse causing me to not only have to spend additional money because they were unable to get all of what needed to be taken from one address to the other and to make matters worse my charge for the work that was completed was $895 which was atrocious considering the move was started late with no communication from anyone and then when I complained about it I was met with the guys were tired and hadn't taken a lunch that day which is inexcusable especially when you have supposedly been in business for long as they have and for my inconvenience I was offered $25 off which resulted in me still paying $895 for piss poor service and the fact that they have definitely lost me as a customer and I will never refer anyone to this company!!! Amazing service, amazing crew, fantastic outcome! Husband and I moved from Katy to the city, we went from a house to a apartment talk about tough. Master movers and his crew made it so fluid that I feel like I'm still in the same place. They packed everything and set up as just as it was in my house but actually better. Unfortunately the complex we moved to had 25 leases the days before due to hurricane Harvey, and the 3/4 elevators had run out of power and were needed for maintenance. Mario and his team improvised and made a solution work out for us and himself and his team. Stuff was stolen and several Broken things just left in garage to find damaged. Damaged furniture due to truck ride to new place Took 2 trips 1 each day and was charged the $75 for each day plus the hours. Left a used old tv in the new construction yard and old toaster oven in my garage. Took our dog in his kennel on the truck and let him in there for almost 2 hours due to truck would not start. We just move to the Houston area. Our stuff was moved by a different company from Kansas City to a storage facility in Houston and then we hired Master Movers (once we closed on our house down here) to move our stuff from the storage facility to our house. It was a full-day job. I had a 10'x30' and a 10'x15' storage locker that were both full (up to the ceilings). There were boxes and more boxes and lots of heavy furniture. They moved everything into each desired room (including 7 recliners upstairs, our dining room table and china cabinet, sectional, beds, etc.) The guys were working on our job for 7 (SEVEN) hours and they maintained a high level of energy all day. They cared for our fragile and important items (important to us) with care all day. The movers who moved our stuff from KC into the storage units (NOT Master Movers) had broken a couple of things. Mario took pictures of those things as they were unpacking our storage unit and took pictures so I can file a claim with the other movers. These guys were awesome. Extremely efficient team. I expected my move to take between 2-3 hours because we basically had to drop things off at a couple locations. An hour and a half after beginning, everything was completely moved... to both locations. There wasn't any hassle with the extra mileage either. Most movers I received quotes from wanted to add extra cost for this additional step, but not these guys. It was very surprising how carefully they handled all the furniture and boxes despite the fast and efficient pace. They were all very nice guys too. Organizing my move is probably one of the most stressful events one can have. At first, it seemed effortless to lock down a moving company. Huge check off from your moving list of To Dos but as the moving date approaches I must say I was disappointed by Master Movers not returning my text messages or phone calls. So much so I doubted they would show up and I would be without movers. Needless to say my Stress level way up! Finally, the night before my move I get a three word text confirming my appt. Moving day is here and the promised 2 hr slot for their arrival comes and goes. I finally get a TEXT saying that they have been in a meeting and that the movers will NOT be arriving. I was livid!! Who conducts business like this?! And I was stuck because I did reach out to other moving companies. They rescheduled MY move to Sunday. I will say that the two gentlemen who showed up worked quickly, and efficiently. I was very happy with them BUT the business office needs allot of help. I stand by my rating. There was never a call from this mover until the morning after the scheduled, confirmed and no show on Saturday. If there was a call the movers would know I had to drive to Austin. Never will I recommend these movers especially after their passive aggressive responses After a week the owner still continues to take zero responsibility and blames me for not telling them my plans. My experience initially with Mario was great over the phone, seemed like a nice and professional business man who scheduled prompt service and kept me informed. He even offered to have his movers come out when it was flash food warning due to my hectic schedule. When, the movers arrived I was greeted with some sarcasm from "E". That had me very apprehensive. It was a long day (10 hrs) with a lot of items to be moved. The guys did stay busy and on top of things and were friendly and careful with my belongings. They worked very hard that day. However, there were a couple of bumps along the road. Throughout the move, Mario was readily available to take my calls and make sure my concerns were addressed. Mario, himself went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied in the end. He came out the next day to speak to me personally and fix things. Mario is really a stand up guy and strives to deliver great service. He is honest and transparent. You won't find that in too many business owners. I used Master Movers in early May 2018 for moving services. I based my decision to hire them because of the five star rating on Yelp. I wonder now if the reviews are legitimate because my experience was NOT even close to a five star rating. The team arrived on time and interaction was pleasant. However, I had two issues I encountered after the move was complete. First issue was they dinged the front door and gouged the front door frame. I was livid, but thanks to the builder for making the repairs. The second issue was the team lost a rug. It was rolled and taped but never made it to the new house. I contacted the owner Mario about the missing rug. He didn't find it on the truck so he committed to paying a portion of the rug's value. He said he would the mail the check BUT never did. I followed up with him about status of check but he was too evasive. When he did respond, he was unprofessional and lackadaisical about his commitment. I finally surrendered and realized the energy expended was not worth interacting with an unprofessional and apathetic owner. Lesson learned is don't rely completely on stellar reviews for decision making because I don't think there always accurate. Look for other ways to vet and make an informed decision.
