I discovered Mastercraft on Yelp a while back and I've received great service on all calls and repairs. Most recently Chandler was able to identify and repair a huge root that had infiltrated my outlet pipe and been causing recurring backups. He went out of his way to identify the problem and a couple days later him and Eddie surgically dug down to the broken pipe, replaced it and backfilled the hole with hardly a trace. The company is looking for work. I called for a free estimate for a jammed area drain. Technician Eddie Munoz showed up the next morning and checked my yards. Eddie told me that the office will text me estimates, two for snaking or jetting the drain and one for camera work, if necessary, that may lead to additional extensive and expensive work. I thought his visit was over. After the inspection, Eddie asked if he can look and check the inside plumbing. I replied that I can handle the inside plumbing but not this area drain jam. Eddie asked if he can take a picture of and check my water heater in the garage. After the free estimates, I replied, "Sure". Along the way to the water heater, I asked for an estimate for enlarging a two inch section of an incoming copper water pipe. Below that two inch section of pipe is a water valve and a water pressure water regulator. Without checking or testing the water valve but by visual examination, Eddie quickly mentioned that I have a worn water valve that needs replacing and will get me an estimate. Odd, the water valve has worked fine the past ten years when I needed the water off during vacations or when I worked on the bathtub faucets that do not have shutoffs. Next, without testing a water pressure regulator but again by visual examination, Eddie quickly mentioned that I have an old pressure regulator that needs replacing and will also get me an estimate. Odd, the water going into the house has always been adequate and is not a problem. Finally, Eddie got to the two inch section that I needed an estimate. When Eddie have his office give an estimate(s) for a requested problem, that is fine. However, when Eddie have the office give unsolicited estimates after a quick perception of problems, then it is not fine. It is wise to avoid Eddie and look elsewhere. He offered to help cover the repair costs that I paid the other plumber, which was very generous and unexpected. I declined his offer, but wanted to update my review to 4 stars since Mike's actions demonstrate that he is truly committed to providing excellent customer service. Original Review: Our Airbnb guests informed us on a Saturday evening that water was leaking from underneath one of our bathroom sinks. We needed someone to respond right away and the Master Craft was the first company I called because they indicated they provide 24-hour emergency service. They had an answering service (which is understandable after hours) who said they would have someone call me right away. When no one called back within 45 minutes, I called them again and was told that the plumber must be busy but they would relay my message again. After waiting another 15 minutes for the call, which never came, I instead called Willis Brothers Plumbing. They not only answered the call, but drove to the house within 30 minutes. Willis Brothers provided great service and responsiveness. When I finally got a call back (on Monday) from Master Craft, I explained what happened and all they had to say was, "Well, you called on a Saturday night", as if responding to emergency service requests 36 hours later was completely acceptable. I actually wouldn't have given them a negative review if they had at least been somewhat apologetic or even friendly. But they were neither. read more
